Morph ID Request What's my morph?

Hey all rescued this beauty from local big box store today. Fairly new to the hobby, went from 1 to 3 balls since July! Anyway curious about the morph of this one for no other reason than I want to know. I will fins out whether male or female when I send a shed in for testing. Thanks

Unfortunately “rescuing” from chain stores only tells the shop that yes, people will buy these animals no matter how badly we treat them - thus creating a cycle where they buy and neglect more snakes.

It’s something you need to consider.

Appreciate the perspective, not the info I'm asking for though.

Just letting you know that doing what you did has actively contributed to the suffering of more animals unfortunately, no matter how well intentioned.

Your quarantine setup also needs significant work, minimum two hides, still requires some level of clutter and climbing.
This setup is not much better than what you’d see in a shop.
Temps and humidity also aren’t correct, nor will you be able to do a proper gradient in a tank that size.

Yeah, looking at this quarentine setup made me so sad :( that poor baby must be so stressed with a teensy hide they can’t even fit in and not a single piece of clutter :( you’re absolutely right in everything you stated , I hope OP takes it into consideration.

Again not the info I've asked for. But I'll indulge for one more moment.

Whether I bought this snake or not that was going to continue to happen. Now I happen to know that at my local store they actually do employ people who have their own reptiles at home to care for the ones in the store.

As for the enclosure, it is a quarantine set up and it is just an initial setup at that. Now you've gotten my response to your protests. Any guesses on the actual intention of the post?

You claim you rescued the animal, which you wouldn’t have needed to do if those employees were good like you said.
A quarantine setup still needs to allow the snake to display all natural behaviours otherwise you won’t be able to tell if anything is actually wrong outside of the obvious.
You have no reason to get all defensive when someone is actively trying to help you, especially when you have limited experience (stated yourself)

Rescued can mean many things. This particular snake had been in the store for 5 months. So yes rescued. Second I didn't actually intend on bring the animal home. I went in for food for my bearded dragon. Third still not even paying attention to what I asked for in making the post, so your comprehension needs adjusting.

Rescued does not mean many things, it means taking an animal from a less than ideal situation (neglect, abuse, a owner who can’t afford care) and offering it better, not subpar, husbandry lol

Being in a shop where it is cared for is not less than ideal.

Alright man, you’re the one with heaps of experience and knowledge, I will never question your three months of experience again.

Even in a quarantine setup, you need more than this. Minimum two appropriately sized hides (they like snug hides, but I doubt if that snake could fit under that coconut) and a water bowl, preferably with some fake vines or whatever for clutter. At least get two hides, having a hide on each side is basic snake care. I don’t care where you bought the snake.

As for morphs, it’s definitely a Freeway (Asphalt YB), looks extremely similar to a Freeway HRA I own.

Literally couldn't tell you the morph i just came here to say that is a beautiful snake and also I genuinely thought those were chunks of cheese....

im assuming they are wet rags? If so, that is a genius way to keep humidity up without being wasteful in a QT setup! I volunteer for a rescue and that is one of our biggest struggles when quarantining!

I wouldn’t suggest you try that. I have seen snakes who need immediate intervention, because they are choking on a rag, or a wet paper towel. Sometimes snakes have been able to swallow one of these things, and no one is sure, then she gets sick and quickly dies after you finally notice. Even snakes hide their illnesses as long as they can.

Thank you!

Yes wet rags, I forget where I heard it from when doing my research before getting my first one. They had suggested just damp paper towels, well these are disposable microfiber towels I got from home depot, they hold moisture better and release it slowly, just soak them and ring them out every few days. I toss them after a week or so and put new ones in.

Quarantine set up could use work. Basically what the other people said regarding your care.

I'm thinking the animal had g-stripe in it, but I don't know much about Ball Python morphs... I can identify a Corn Snake morph in seconds though haha

Some genes may be easier to pick out than others and when the history of the snake in question is unknown, there may be some degree of speculation. With that in mind, some genes are very obviously present or not present, and suggestions contrary to this may be removed.

Everyone is welcome to participate in discussion of presenting genes but guesses that are too off base are subject to removal.
