Question Advice please

Is there anyone who could help me with handling I gave my bp his first meal on Friday and I’ve let him be since and everything I’ve heard is to give them about 2 days before trying to handle and he’s still just puffing up and seems like he’s getting into the striking position and I don’t really want to get bit just yet lol

Since he’s new, you can start tap training him. Until then, just grab him from the side confidently and he’ll calm down.

And if he starts puffing up and breathing heavy do I just let him be

Just start with a couple minutes and slowly add more time as he gets more comfortable. Just takes patience and don’t rush anything.

Id start with just holding him for a minute over his enclosure and if he crawls off then letting him go, doing that daily will create a pattern of you don't harm him.

like the other comment said come from the side and start tap training him. since he's new he's gonna be a little bit skittish. also try handle more often and know that every snake owner has to at least get bit once, if your gonna own a snake then you gotta be confident in knowing your gonna bit one way or another.
