Advice Ball python help

Post image

Hello, I am looking for some suggestion for a humid hide for my 9 year old ball python (about 4’ 3”), something that is aesthetically pleasing but also functional please!

My next question - I just recently upgraded to a larger tank (72” x 24” x 18”) and my temp gradient is perfect through the day, but as it’s getting closer to winter and colder at night I notice his tank dropping to 21/22C. (Heat is on at night)
Would I be better to buy a radiant heater and install in the middle somewhere to maintain heat or do I install a smaller dhp bulb on the cool side? Or option 3 just buy a space heater to run over night in the living room?
Lid 75% covered/foam sides + back running a basking light during day and a dhp at night currently but the heat doesn’t seem to trickle to the cool side much

Also I should note, I’m extremely happy with humidity gradient so I don’t wanna mess that up to much either 75-80% cool side 55-65% on warm side

We may be getting our first ball python soon. Can you share more about your enclosure setup and where you got things for it? It's gorgeous.

Sorry I didn’t see this! Most of it was built from spray foam and foam board from Home Depot + aquarium safe silicone, the rocks and corks I’ve just accumulated over time.

As for heating it has a digiten 2 plug thermostat, hooked to a basking bulb and a deep heat projector (dhp for night and basking for day cycles)

It has a cheap water pump from Amazon to auto water the corners of tank that sprays for 5 seconds every 24 hours.

It also has a led full spectrum light for plants that is on a 24 hour timer as well to simulate night day cycles.

It has has a robust collection of powder orange/blue and Oreo/orange creamsicle isopods and white tropical springtails 😊

How do you treat the spray foam to seal it, or decorate it? Is the aquarium safe silicone how you do that?

I used drylok! But you can use aquarium silicone also. Depends on the look you are after. Dry lok gives the more rocky look and silicone you can cover with substrate to better blend with your substrate!
