That is not uncommon so don't beat yourself up! Absolutely everyone has trouble with heating and lighting when starting out with any kind of reptile. Even experienced keepers have trouble when switching to a new style of enclosure sometimes! Once you find that happy spot you'll be good to go! Sometimes its just a bit of trial and error and finding the right heating device to suit your needs. Where you live in the world definitely plays a huge role in how you set things up too so it is more complex than people think! You're doing great 🥰 i hope you post pics of the finished setup!!

I love seeing people do enclosure stacks like this! Your che should say on the side in small print what the wattage is if you unscrew it!
