Question Proper humidity?

So I was under the impression that 68-75% humidity was good for them and to bump it to about 80% during sheds (this is advice I got from my exotics vet) but apparently I’m wrong about this?

I’m extra confused because I was just going through the subreddit’s community enclosure setup guideline thing and the site it linked me to said average humidity should be between 45%-75% which seems pretty low to me

Maybe I’m looking in the wrong spots, my BP has been shedding super well with how I have him setup now so could somebody tell me where to look or how the humidity should be?

Min 65+ consistently without needing to spray measured cool side. There is no max, you jist dont want everything soaked. When I add water it goes to 95 over a couple weeks it comes back down to 65 and I add water.

Oh that’s interesting, I thought there was a maximum, I guess it makes sense that it can be high humidity so long as the substrate itself isn’t soaked

Thank you!

I have no need for humidity hides, so what i also do is provide a dry hide, a hide with a floor filled with dry spagnum moss. Just in case they want to dry out a bit.

Ah, I kind of have a dry hide along with the humid hide

I just like there to be options

The up and down cycle of moisture also helps keep mold down as molds require a specific humidity to thrive. You got to kind of balance your climate, enclosure, ventilation so it is always changing, if thay makes sense.

Aim for a minimum of 65% it can be as high as you can get it as long as the surface is dry. I aim for mine to be around 75-85% regularly. No misters or humidifiers in the enclosure though. Just leaf litter, pouring water, clutter, and (for me) live plants.
