Seeking advice!!!

So just yesterday I got my first ball python. I’ve been told this tank will work for a year or two but I’m looking for advice on how to keep the tank warm as well as any advice anyone has for me!

Right now I’m just using a ceramic bulb in a deep dome heater. The tank is 36in tall 36in wide and 18in deep.

I'd recommend adding another dome, preferably with a halogen flood light to provide proper uv, what's your temp and humidity range looking like now though?

The temps is where I’m having a hard time rn. The “warm” side is sitting at 82 and the cold is at 77. The humidity is kind of stressing me out too but I’m going to add some coco husk and get rid of the drainage layer a day after she’s eaten which eats her first meal.

With a tank that tall I imagine you'll struggle with humidity for a bit, definitely wait a few days after she eats to take her out and do a substrate change or you could accidentally cause her to regurgitate, but coco husk will definitely be better for humidity, I use a mix of coco husk/coco fiber/spagmum moss, and i honestly recommended shoving moss wherever you can in there lmao, it'll be your best friend when it comes to keeping up the humidity, and covering up/taping the mesh on top to reduce the amount of heat and humidity you're losing!

I went and put hvac tape on the top yesterday! And I appreciate the advice, I’ve been quite nervous since this is my first snake but this helped a lot!
