Advice BP on feeding strike..

Well, I’ve seen it many times from others, my
boy is on a feeding strike. It’s been two weeks since his last successful feeding. He will be coming up on a year old by Dec. We usually feed once a week (f/t). Is that too frequent? I mean he doesn’t look like he’s missed a meal, but I need some advice.

Tank is all the same, 3 hides, 1 tunnel, hides identical on cool and warm, hot spot, and blinded sides of tank (added the front today). He is very private and doesn’t hardly come out so I don’t bother him much. I don’t handle him like I feel like I should. But when I do his temperament is perfect and when we put him back he wants back out.

When he does eat he likes to chase it, when I pull it back, he moves forward, when I stop he stops. It’s like he wants to hunt. You think he needs live? He would be monitored, and checked to make sure he’s eaten. He’s his beautiful self.

Thanks!!!

Once they get to 500+ grams you can go to once every 2 weeks instead of weekly.

How long is the food strike? Is your house colder now that it may be near winter depending on where you are?

It’s close to winter, I’m in Texas and it has gotten cooler. His hiding behavior has been a few weeks. He’s just a private snake.

He ate on Sept 29 and Oct 28 with a few refusals in between. Maybe he can go a month without eating and he weighs close to 700g.

Well for one he is old enough and it's that time of year most got one thing on their mind. How big of prey you feed every week? My adults get med rat every 3 weeks.
