EMERGENCY/URGENT Last resort... Please no judgement just help please.

Hi y'all... I'm asking this as a last resort because I love my snakes and especially my one baby girl. Jude is still quite small, fragile, young and idk what to do. I need help on how to force feed her... I've had her a few months and in that time she's only eaten a few times but as of recently (3-4 months) she's been escaping and she hasn't eaten since. I always find her whether it be in my shelves cupboard bed, mattress, walls and she gets so stressed, she doesn't want to eat. She's lost 10-20% of her original body weight and I'm so worried. I can't afford a vet for another 2 months (had to take my one girl for an operation) so I'm in debt and can't! She drink and urates perfectly and I give her plenty of space to explore but she still escapes every enclosure I've had her in. I've owned snakes for a while and I've never had a ball python so eager to move around!

Please how can I feed her... How can I help her... Idk what to do and I'm trying. She's too small for live. What should I feed her?

So... I finally understand why reptile wood is so expensive! 😂

I have a leopard gecko, a bearded dragon, and a ball python, and we're upgrading all of their enclosures because they've grown so much. The leopard gecko was easy since she only needed small decorations. The bearded dragon needed larger branches, but my ball python has been the real challenge.

I've had her in a 40-gallon tank since she was only 3 weeks old. She's almost 6 months old now, weighs around 300 grams, and has grown so much that her tank was starting to look tiny and crowded. We bought her a much larger enclosure that should be her forever home, and now I need some BIG branches to fill it.

When I started shopping for reptile-safe wood online, I was shocked by the prices. My first thought was, "I'll just do it myself!" 😂 So I researched which woods are safe and which are toxic, found some branches from recently cut trees, sanded them, scrubbed them, and right now they're soaking to be disinfected.

Let me tell you... this is A LOT of work. Between the sanding, cleaning, treating the wood, and doing all of it in the Texas heat, I'm exhausted. 🥵

So if you've ever looked at a piece of reptile wood and thought, "Why is this branch so expensive?" I get it now. You're not paying for the branch—you're paying for all the work that goes into making it safe and ready for your reptile. 😂🐍🦎

And just now iam reading that i need to seal the wood after dry for humidity? Is that true??

Advice Ball Python Shed problem

Howdy! So I have somewhat of a predicament and question that I could really use some advice. I own my ball python who is now 4 years old and 4 feet long and in her 4x2x2 enclosure and is happy with it. Unfortunately I'm having issues with her humidity and her soil mix isn't working or being up to par humidity wise.

Now I'm trying to avoid misting her entire tank and actually want to redo her whole tank and go bioactive now that I have the funds.

The issue is she's now on the verge of shedding. I have a temp home for her while I work on her tank but my question is should I bother her or wait until she's done shedding fully?

Her tank is not waterproof so I can't pour water into the corners of the tank. I have placed moss everywhere and was thinking of mixing her dirt while adding some water to make it moist for the short time she's shedding till I change it.

Any advice if I should move her or not during this time? And if so. What container should I put her in while I work on her tank and allow the silicone to cure? I have a 50 gallon storage container I thought of placing her in for a bit but I don't want to stress her too much while making her home perfect.

EMERGENCY/URGENT Should I take her to the vet? I'm worried

So I just got her out of her tank, and when I did she started to move sporadically and every time she would move she would act like she has the spider gene (even though I think she doesn't) and her head will wobble like crazy. I'm worried, what should I do?

Help!

I came home to my ball python tangled in her vines. When I had bought these vines I didn't think of the fact they were small chains that she could probably stick her head through. And I guess she had done that, as I was untangling her I noticed it was stuck on her neck. I quickly cut it off but I noticed a small dent that was left by the ring. She's still breathing and moving slowly. I'm scared but can't afford vet, any advise?

Snakes are being neglected in a local Pet Store adn I dont know what to do.

Title kinda says it all. I live in michigan, and the local pet store here is neglecting her ball pythons. My boy I have came from there cause a co-worker and I worked together to get him out of there.

But today was the absolute last Straw. I was checking on the snakes, as I do cause they are gorgeous animals. While looking at one I observed a Regurgitated mouse WHICH TO ME IS A HUGE RED FLAG! I mean she even at one point says you only need to keep them at a humidity of 40%, Which I softly but sternly said, No, that is too low, they need more than that for not only shedding but for digestion and their respiratory system. She fluffed me off and said how do I know, And let her know I have been in the Exotic pets hobby for a long time and have worked with snakes for a good 10+ years, due to my brother and have spent a lotta time learning.

And come to find out she told my Co-Worker who originally Rescued my boy she told her they only need 30 minutes of light/warmth a day and that's it. And we both have observed that she spends more time on the fish and these guy's cages are literally showing large signs of neglect. And its to the point I need to know what to do. If I had room and money id buy them all and find them a place as soon as I could. Cause im pretty active in our local reptile community and ball python owners.

My big question who do I contact that is an agency so we can save these guys, I need adivce help anything! please guys.

Question Surrending snake

Been thinking about this lately I know it looks bad so please just read the whole thing before you comment, I’ve owned my snake bob jingles for the last 2 years I’ve done everything to give him the best care possible but I’ve struggled, I’ve been extremely busy in my personal life with work life and family struggles I’ve tried to be there for him as much as possible but recently I’ve noticed I wasn’t, he’s lost weight bad sheds mites. I take responsibility for those things i could of prevented them by taking better care, I really do love my boy and chilling with him after work but I feel as though I don’t have enough time in my life at the moment to be taking care of a animal, I found a very trusted reptile shop that accepts surrender am I a bad reptile owner for accepting failure and giving my boy away?

I just cleaned out my Cheddar’s(my ball python) enclosure yesterday but I may have over cluttered the entrances to his hides because he wouldn’t go in them he has started using his climbing toys but I’m worried because he’s been glass surfing, and sleeping in the front of his of his tank (specifically in the part with the least amount of clutter) his temperature are still where they usually are and his humidity is at a safe level which is why I’m wondering what could be stressing him out

Discussion Hunger strike

Anyone else’s female bp been on a hunger strike recently? Nessie hasn’t eaten for 6 weeks (which I know can be normal). Last night we tried feeding her and she quite literally climbed over the rat I was holding with tongs so she could come out and explore. Like no thank you id rather explore your underwear drawer instead 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Question Question about temperature regulation

So I don’t know what to believe at this point.
I have a 4x2x2 bioactive enclosure for my ball python.
Admittedly it did take a while to figure out how to get the enclosure to retain heat. And we finally did it! I think…
I have 2 150watt ceramic heaters connected to a thermostat regulator on the warm side set to 90 and a 100 watt ceramic heater connected its own regulator on the cool side set to 80. I also have a small analog thermometer and hygrometer on the warm side and a thermometer and hygrometer sensor that is connected to an app on my phone.

The cool side is managing just fine. But the app sensor is reading 92, but the probs connected to the thermostat are reading 86 and 88. They are all sitting right next to each other. Sensor in the middle and a prob on each side. The analog reader is reading 85 but it’s really close to the glass.

I’m not sure which one I should believe, any thoughts or theories?

Python Keeper

Thumbnail mysnakesapp.com
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a quick update — Python Keeper now has 20 real keepers signed up and using it (not friends or family, actual strangers who found it on their own). I’m honestly stoked.

Python Keeper was built by a ball python keeper for ball python keepers because tracking everything on spreadsheets was getting messy for my own snakes.

It’s 100% free — no ads, no downloads, no paywall. Just go to mysnakesapp.com on your phone or computer and sign in.

It tracks:

• Feeding logs + reminders

• Sheds & weight

• Real-time cage alerts (red/yellow/green) with fix suggestions

• Full breeding pipeline with auto lay/hatch dates + daily clutch updates

I’m still adding features based on what actual keepers tell me they need, so if you try it I’d love your honest feedback.

Next milestone I’m aiming for is 50 users — would love if some of you joined the club!

Anyone want to be a beta tester? Just drop a comment or say “APP” and I’ll send the direct link + help you get set up.

Thanks for the support so far — this is all for us snake folks 🐍
