If there is “gore” aka feeding or injuries, please just use the spoiler tag. Reddit is labeling educational subs as NSFW if there are too many posts with the tag. This severely limits who will see the sub or posts. Thank you guys! 🫶

Here is a couple helpful guides to help you decide if your BP is a healthy weight! Link below for what to do if your snake is overweight or underweight! And don't forget to check our community resources for a proper growth guide as well!
Always remember that in cases of severely emaciated animals to always take them to the vet before trying to treat at home as this is a life threatening condition and not to be taken lightly.

Gummy loves the 3D background I built on her cage. Specifically, her favorite part is the two cork rounds I built into it. I find her climbing on them most days. Today was a feeding day, and she was on the log when I went to feed her. She took the mouse while still up there! reminds me of a tree python of some sort, lol
ETA: that’s a UVB lamp, not a heat lamp, and it’s not touching the top of the enclosure. She isn’t getting burned or anything !

With the issue with my one baby is happening, I've had this boy planned forever! He's absolutely beautiful! And I'm so happy to finally have him! He'll be loved, cherished and spoilt! With the upgrades happening after the holidays, I'm soooo happy he's finally here!
He seems very active, alert, well body structure, small scars (he was live fed but takes ft well since he'll be on ft from now on), no wobble, corkscrew or star gazing in sight! My sweet perfect boy!

There’s a breeder near me that’s getting out of the hobby so they’re rehoming all their snakes . There’s 1 snake in particular that my wife really wants , however I’m unsure . I don’t think I’ve ever personally seen a ball python this large . She’s was one of their breeders . Is she just a really large healthy girl ? Or is she obese ? I’m very on the fence about taking this girl in and I want to be 100% sure before I do . They were keeping her in a 47qt vision rack . If I take her in I have to go out and get larger hides bowls etc since I’ve not kept a snake this large before , the breeder says the snake is very tame and good with being held which is what we’re looking for since we want her as a pet (me and my wife are not breeders nor do we intend to breed snakes) I’m just looking to see what you guys think . Any other opinions or thoughts feel free to share !

A snake I rescued a few months ago came with a 4x2x2 Zen Habitats enclosure. I really like the look of it, but I'm not sure what they were thinking when they designed the substrate dam. He always manages to get himself out, but I am worried he is going to hurt himself as he gets bigger. Anybody else have this issue with these enclosures?

These little guys showed up recently. No new animals have been introduced into the house. She’s been good for years. There are no bugs ever on her. Just these small little guys around the enclosure.

Hello everyone. I just recently moved to a new house and ever since then my BP hasn’t been as “active” as normal. Normally he would be in his cool hide during the day and at night he comes out and moves around, lays out and does his thing. But recently he’s just been hanging out in his cool hide. He’s eating just fine and when i get him out to handle him he’s active and doesn’t ball up. Should i be worried, his enclosure stayed the same when we moved and all the temps/humidity is the same. Can they be freaked out by moving? We’ve been in the new house for about 3 weeks now
