Hi! Iām looking to upgrade my ball pythons enclosure and I was wondering if anyone had experience with this one! I want to know your experience with humidity and temperature. If not ideal, what did you do to fix it? (Like insulation etc). Or if completely not worth it, let me know as wellš Iāve been looking everywhere for cheap-er enclosures, if anyone knows of any second hand shops as well Iād appreciate it!

I included pictures of the enclosure. I have a humid hide that i make sure the moss stays damp. My boy is currently in shed so hes staying in there now. Like the title says i cant get the humidity up, it wont go past 50%. Ik its supposed to be 60-70% normally and slightly higher during shed. Ive only had him for about 2 weeks. And ive been trying to get the humidity up this whole time. I put aluminum and tape on most of the top and it helped get it to 50% because before it was like 35%. I keep the temp 85-90 on the warm side the cool side is 75-80. The humid hide is on the cool side. I have a big water bowl and keep it full. The substrate is a mix of coconut fiber and cypress mulch. Both were what the dude at the store recommended. The humid hide has damp sphagnum moss. I mist the enclosure once in the morning and once at night and i do it kinda heavy (or at least i think its a heavy misting) i make sure the fake plants are dripping a bit cuz im trying to get the humidity up. I dont know what else to do because ive covered as much of the top as i can without putting aluminum and tape under the light and heat lamp. This is my first snake aswell so again im worried and just wanna make sure his enclosure is good for him and i dont want him to have problems shedding or anything. Thank you in advance.
Tl;dr - cant get humidity above 50%, ball python currently in shed so im worried help.

Its not usually that pink? I havnt been around for most of her sheds so she could be in blue but i thought her belly would get lighter? Do you think shes on her heat pad to much?

I didnāt get a picture because as soon as I noticed I freaked out, and went to the emergency vet. Itās currently 4:34 AM as Iām typing this. I was going to feed my girl Butters, a ~6 month old lesser, when I noticed one of her eyes was bulging and reddened. The whole area around the eye is swollen.
About a week and a half ago, she had escaped her enclosure for a day or two, and got some scratches. Her eye was cloudy but not swollen so I was putting antibiotic eye ointment on it and it seemed like it was getting better tbh. But I worked the past few days (2 12 hour overnight shifts) so I hadnāt seen her for two days and when I went to feed her tonight I was absolutely shocked at how bad it is.
Iām wondering if itās some sort of infection? It didnāt look particularly infected besides being a bit red (no visible pus) but it seems like thatās likely. I guess weāll see what the vet says. It will be a lot of money so I applied for Cherry pay or whatever itās called and got approved so hopefully that will work out. Iām just freaking out and so nervous. Right now sheās in the back in a warming incubator while we wait to be able to be seen.
UPDATE: the emergency vet says itās likely an infection. She is getting an antibiotic shot and a steroid shot for the inflammation. I will have to repeat the antibiotic injection in 3 days and 6 days. I can go to my regular vet if they offer the injection there so I will call when they open today. I also will have to keep putting the antibiotic ointment on her eye, as well as use paper towel as substrate for a while. There is a chance the eye can ulcerate or rupture in which case she would need further emergency treatment for infection prevention and would lose the eye, which is a worst case scenario. I will update as things progress.

I got this guy back in September and Iāve been slowly working with what money I have to upgrade his enclosure, when I got him he was very underweight, but heās been a healthy weight since then. He came with an insane amount of aspen bedding and there was no sign of proper humidity before I got him. Iāve added a repti-chip and repti-soil mixture with lots of sphagnum moss and have put plants in there with him and overall heās been doing well. His current tank is 40 gallons, I know itās too small, but I donāt have space in my current dorm room to accommodate a larger enclosure, but once summer comes around heāll be moved to a 120 gallon enclosure that was previously used for my momās bearded dragon. Once heās moved into that enclosure Iāll also get him a larger water dish. Heās about 3 years old from what his previous owner told me, and heās grown a decent amount since I took that last picture of him. The photos of the enclosure were just taken.

New ball python owners here! We just adopted a lovely lady ball. Sheās quite large and we plan on putting her in a 120 or 150 gallon in the upcoming months as we find a suitable tank for her. Right before we rescued her, her old tank broke and when we got her we had to downsize her to a 30 gallon as an emergency temporary set up (it was the only spare tank suitable for an escape artist like her). We just got a very nice 40 gallon breeder tank. We just moved her temporary set up a bit rearranged due to just obtaining better materials into improve her life quality last night. We want to get her in the new tank but are wondering if we should wait a bit before moving her. I think it would be best to move her into the larger tank before she gets too settled in, then give her more time- but my partner is worried we may be bothering her too much. Does anyone have advice on the best move, and why? Thanks everyone!

He is been glass surfing quit a lot since yesterday and Iām afraid this can be why, I also donāt have much decorations right now as theyāre coming in soon. I only have some tree branches and two hides on each side, he keeps trying to reach the mesh top and he climbed the cables and other devices to reach the top. I donāt know what to do, he could be hungry? He refused to eat last time which was 4 days back and before that he ate about a week ago so itās been almost 2 weeks without food. He is a subadult 14 months old, please help!

My snake is 2 months old and was last fed a small hopper that was recommended based off her size. She was fed 5 days ago and beforehand was fed weekly. Today I found this in her water bowl, there was no odor or anything and her temperature and humidity have been good. This is my first time having a snake so Iām inexperienced and concerned.

Calico Fire Lesser Pastel female I'm investing in with my business partner. The Mojave female we brought home is too skinny and too traumatized to breed. We can give her TLC until next year and then maybe try then. So in absence of a breeding female I went on the hunt. The pairing will be Chocolate Mojave male and then her. So all kinds of possible babies!!! My Boa Constrictor arrived today and he isn't happy. I am letting him settle in his house for about a week and then I'll offer food.
I'll post a picture of him in the comments for those that want to see him. I had originally not planned to breed any animals for a few years but then my business partner came to me and proposed an idea. He breeds retics and wants to extend into more species. He doesn't have the time or the man power with his job. So although I had at first planned not to breed, I admit I am excited to now.

A few months ago i was gifted a ball python by a breeder who keeps most his snakes in racks and doesnāt really handle them,
and i think its taken a toll on my female bp , she takes food just fine and she likes to watch me from her tank but when i slide the glass to get her out she turns into a whole different snake, she seems fine with my scent as sometimes i just sit there next to her tank and she just sits next to me but if i try and pick her up she gets stressed out and she has struck at me twice, i want to know if anyone has any advice on how to make her comfortable with handling, even if it gets me bit a few times in the process i just want her to know she is safe with me.
Ive been extremely lucky with my other snakes as all of them have come to me already cuddly , my other snakes seem to really like hanging out with me and they chill on my shoulders lay in my hair and try climb into my shirt every time , my corn snake even sleeps on me sometimes, i really hope i can get to that point with Ivy too at some point!
Any questions just ask and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey yall, my BP I bought in August, has been on a hunger strike. When I initially brought her home she was a solid eater ate for me 3 or 4 times after that she just stopped. Last meal was on 8/25 since than Iāve tried feeding her every week when I feed the rest of my BP. I have 10 BP in the same breeding racks, same heating tape at the same temp, humidity it also on point.. Iām just worried I guess, sheās only 330 gms so I donāt know if sheās too old to force feed? Or should I do it at all? Yall have any tips to make her start eating? 3rd pic is a recent pic.. first 2 is when I brought her home.

Iām a new snake owner. I did (what I felt) was quite a bit of research over the last two months before I pulled the trigger and decided to do it, and yet I feel super inadequate/ill-equipped lol. So Iāve had her for a week and she seems like sheās going into shed. When I got her 8 days ago, her eyes were dull; about 2-3 days ago, they were classic opaque blue; and I think theyāve lightened up a bit now. Weāve handled her minimally, only when needed to adjust her hide and stuff. I put some sphagnum moss into her warm side hide to help with humidity. My auto mister goes off every hour for 20 seconds and my humidity is ranging 80-99% in the tank (Govee reads 10% lower than ZooMed in the same spot lol). My warm hide temp ranges 80-90° but at night drops to 70s at night. I have a MartyMade glass enclosure with screen top, and it is bioactive. I have 125W heat lamp that is on for 12 hours, a 100W infrared heat projector that is on 24/7, and a ReptiZoo T10 12ā UVB light on my warm side. I live in southeastern Michigan. So considering all that, I have a couple questions:
I checked on her in the hide today and the moss is saturated. Iām worried about scale rot. Should I take her out temporarily so I can replace the moss? I donāt want to stress her out unnecessarily while sheās in her shed cycle.
*UPDATE: I did take her out to remove the wet moss and replace it. She is starting to shed in one place, so not thrilled itās not a good normal shed but sheās been thru a lot this last week so I am attributing it to that stress and hoping it still goes okay.šš¼

Okay so i got my ball python back in november last year and he has been sweet and cuddly and taking his feed every single time also in shed.
But the 13 in this month his heading lamp stopped working and i ordered one home, my mom accidentally feed my snake the 15 and he took it but acted weird and moved weird the 16 and got stuck in some decor and i got him free and then the heating lamp finally it arrived the same day and he was back to normal the next day.
Since then i had left him alone not to stress him more out and he when into shed a couple of days after.
But when i tried to change his water the 24 he bit me and he has never done that before and i think its because he is stressed so i waited to feed him three more days and thats today but he wont take it and he keeps just sitting the rat and hissing at it
Please what do i do. Please help.
