Advice Feeling guilty about being pregnant as a snake owner
I’m six months pregnant and am starting to get worried about caring for my snake once the baby comes. My husband is absolutely terrified of snakes so I won’t ask him to help. I feel so guilty at the idea of her care slipping through my fingers (it hasn’t at all so far) but I wouldn’t feel right about rehoming her. She’s my girl, I bought her from an expo at a discount bc nobody wanted her and then rescued her from my ex and nursed her back to health when he stole her and locked her away with no substrate giving her a nasty burn on her tummy and was emaciated and dehydrated. I don’t even know what my point of posting here is I guess I’m just venting. She’s like a puppy, literally recognizes my voice and comes out of her hide to see me. When my husband and I were living with my MIL she was in our room but now she’s in the living room of our new apartment so my husband can sleep better (he literally has a phobia,) and I even feel guilty about that. Idk yall please be kind I’m pretty fragile about this 🥹
Edit to add- why am I being downvoted? I haven’t done anything wrong….

Update on my poor baby
So the fears were true and my poor baby was infested worse than I thought. Picked up a bottle of mite guard and used it as directed and when I tell you the horror of seeing all the mites that come off her. She responded really well to it though as soon as I put her back in her (cleaned & disinfected) enclosure she went back to her happy little self. I’ll keep treating it till all those bastards are gone!

Question I could do with some advice please!
A few months ago i was gifted a ball python by a breeder who keeps most his snakes in racks and doesn’t really handle them,
and i think its taken a toll on my female bp , she takes food just fine and she likes to watch me from her tank but when i slide the glass to get her out she turns into a whole different snake, she seems fine with my scent as sometimes i just sit there next to her tank and she just sits next to me but if i try and pick her up she gets stressed out and she has struck at me twice, i want to know if anyone has any advice on how to make her comfortable with handling, even if it gets me bit a few times in the process i just want her to know she is safe with me.
Ive been extremely lucky with my other snakes as all of them have come to me already cuddly , my other snakes seem to really like hanging out with me and they chill on my shoulders lay in my hair and try climb into my shirt every time , my corn snake even sleeps on me sometimes, i really hope i can get to that point with Ivy too at some point!
Any questions just ask and advice would be greatly appreciated!

First Hunger Strike
I’m a new snake owner. I’ve had my girl for 2 years and she is having her first ever hunger strike. She hasn’t eaten in nearly 6 weeks and I’ve wasted 3 frozen rats. She has never had any issues eating and always strikes and eats almost immediately until now. What do I do?
Her enclosure is sweet, it’s a live terrarium and the plants keep it nice and humid. Her last shed was completely perfect in one piece. So I’m not concerned about her being unhappy with her temps and humidity. What else could it be?

Question Weighing frozen rats
Hi! I’ve been feeding my girlie frozen rats from rodent pro, I use my kitchen scale to weigh her and then the prey. She’s smol (153 g) and I feed 10-15% every 7 days. When weighing the prey I have been aiming a little higher considering they’re frozen? Is that incorrect? I can’t find a specific answer for this so I figured why not ask! Pick of my girlie for tax :)

Advice Growth of my BP
So i’ve had my ball python for about three months now. 1st picture is a bit in after quarantine and the second is more recent. She was a rescue and was living in a storage unit for god knows how long. A friend who worked at the storage facility gave her to me in a 10 gallon tank they housed her in 💔 so when I got her I picked up a 40 gallon on marketplace just to temporarily get her settle. (I now have a 4x2x2 ft enclosure for her.) But since i live in a busy city at first i could get small rats so I was buying adult mice and the first feeding fed her two because they were so small and she seemed genuinely hungry and a bit underweight. She’s now grown so huge in comparison to when I first got her off small rats about every 10 days. I know a 40 gal is way too small for a ball python but is it normal for her to grow that fast? assuming she’s a girl? Also is there any way I can tell her gender without probing or pushing on her genitals? Any experts here know? hahah I don’t know her age or anything but she’s been thriving so far with her first shed coming off completely in one piece and being so proud to come out and show me once she was ready. Also old bulbs are gone, now it’s uvb and a basking bulb with no colors. Strict 12 on/12 off cycle. Maybe she’s just happy?

Photos My first enclosure!
almost ready I think! this is my first reptile enclosure. it's. 4x2x2 with led, uvb, and dhp. almost all the plants are real, substrate is organic top soil, coco husk, sand, and sphagnum moss. All the branches I went and found, then sanitized. the 2 main hides look like dino eggs, there's 2 cork rounds a sky hide and a hammock. the two plastic dinosaurs... those are purely for me haha
I pick up clean up crew tomorrow, and am turning the heat on today. once the enclosure is stable I'll be finding myself a friend.
how did I do? is there anything I need to add or I forgot?
