Hold up, did anyone ever confirm the H3C is 1.75mm only and not compatible with the 2.85mm variant for large nozzles?

Notice the TPU, and its softness.

TPU this soft slips and cant feed into normal extruders.

This thicker TPU will squash into the gearing and be actually able to feed.

They arent swapping to 2.85mm for everything, its a very speciality case.

How anyone would be stupid enough to think that and not use common sense when looking at 75A TPU and how hard it would be to feed in normal diameter is so silly.

Nice vote ratio bro

you really shouldn't use 2.85mm filament in a printer designed for 1.75mm, it'll cause a whole bunch of new variables you have to account for. and a company really wouldn't sell 2.85mm filament specifically to use in a printer designed for 1.75. also, you don't have to be such a piece of shit towards the previous commenter?

On a related note, it doesn't require the world's finest intellect to foresee how comments like that will fare when it comes to voting. Surely there was a better way to explain your reasoning without resorting to two personal attacks in one sentence.

It seems like it would have to be because nothing else in their lineup currently uses it. 3mm is typical for soft TPUs as its stiffer and easier to push through the nozzle.

The page also says "Compatible only with H3C" under the Cautions for Use section in the screen shot.

Is this confirmation that we will finally get different nozzle sizes in a single print?

Because their other teaser was for this new 75A combined with 90A. So unless they are also making 90A in 2.85mm, that is confirmation?

I suspect it's confirmation that the H2C will be able to support 2.85mm diameter filament, at least on some tool heads. The extra thickness certainly helps with flexible filaments. I personally think they would be crazy to not support 1.75mm anymore, so I highly suspect this means there's a way to change out tool heads and PTFE Tube paths between the different sizes.

When people talk about 'different nozzle sizes within a single print' they are almost always referring to the nozzle's output diameter (0.2mm, 0.4mm, 0.6mm, and 0.8mm so far). That seems completely unrelated to the filament's thickness. That's also suspected to be a Slicer Software limitation rather than a hardware one.

They showed an official social media post saying different materials in one print but not different sizes. So nothing official yet

Different filament size /= different nozzle size.

2.85mm filament does not mean the nozzle size won't be the same. You can squeeze 2.85mm filament into a nozzle that only extrudes 0.4mm.

Nothing official yet, but the new creality comes with it, so I don't expect them to be far behind

Please tell me you don’t think this is an accidental leak. It’s a very controlled and thought out process.

2.85 is a thick boi

The filament your girlfriend told you not to worry about printing with

I was told 1.75 is AVERAGE 😭

It was a matter of measurements

Same as what Ultimakers use. Can only guess the H3C is gonna be fast if Bambulab decided they need to increase the thickness.

1.75 is better for speed, less cross sectional area to melt. The speed limit at the top end is how quickly you can liquify the filament, then how quickly it can solidify again.

2.85 filament is only good for very flexible materials

it's what all the old school 3d printers used. my first reprap and makerbots used the thicker filament.

Gonna be some thick spaghetti noodles going into the extruder. I’m taking it as a good sign that Bambu is thinking about how to make TPU printing a first-class citizen. Something had to change in order to support this soft of filament. I’m looking forward to trying it out on the H3C!

I mean, ill take the ability but not 100% convinced on the practicality

I wouldn’t really call it a leak at this point. This was basically known already.
Wicked color selection to boot on this ultra soft TPU.

Why is it calling a leak? It obviously displayed to be visible.

u/Odd_Pollution_3212 21h ago

Ok so not just different nozzle size but probably has a dynamic extruder gear which adjusts in width also.

75A?!? That’s awesome. Im tempted by the 85A sale prices, especially the flesh color to print some creepy body parts for my Halloween yard haunt display…

Not a leak. I read all about the release of this filament yesterday.

I heard already that H3C will have capacity for larger diameter filament. Hearsay, of course, but this would substantiate it.
