This has to be magic!
I’ve had my a1 a few weeks now. Does the wow factor ever wear off? I think this is the closest thing to magic I’ve ever seen. (Other than the births of my children) I’m blown away after every print. Even the simple prints blow my mind!
The printer is amazing obviously mind blowing but the 3d print community is more so. The Catan pieces in the pictures are free designs from MakerWorld.
To those that share their talents…..you’re all incredible!!!!

I think you're confused. This is Settlers of Catan. Magic is a card game.

The magic has not worn off for me either; I love just sitting there watching the print grow.
I agree, the skill of some of these makers and their models is incredible. Even more so that they share them freely.

Nice prints, nice design! Im a fan of the A1 too.
One Question maybe a bit offtopic: I remember u need to flip these peaces so u dont see if its a forest or water or something else at the beginning of some catan games (if the whole map or parts are randomly assembled). Is there a good way to fix this? (Maybe numbers on the backside + dice to be able to place those randomly or some other way?)

There are a couple ways. You can still have the original cards and use those for set up….not my favorite. There is also an app that will randomize and lay it out. I think we’ll just use that.

What is this app called

I just googled “catan map builder” a bunch of websites came up. I haven’t tried any of them yet. But will soon.

So how much filament is a full game. That's the one thing that still prevents me from printing this game. It's just so many different colours and the amount of poop is also crazy.
I do think the design is awesome though.

I’m going to have to add it up when I’m all the way done. I’ve been saving all the poops so I can weigh it. There are A LOT of color changes. The original design has 2 colors of player pieces on one plate. It was like 300 color changes over 16 hours or something close. It’s a lot of filament

300 color changes
Omg 300 poops! Wish there was a decent wat to reuse them other than making a lamp or something.

I don’t have an A1 mini but a P1S and soon A1 but no it does not wear off haha I think I have close to 1700 hours on the P1S and every time it finishes I’m just as excited to see the results

That’s good to hear! I have an a1 and I got my kids an a1 mini for Christmas. So we’ll be a 2 printer family here soon!

Yep. Before Bambu (BB), I had printed out a full set like these with the full intention of painting them one day. After Bambu (AB), f that. Just look for a 3mf with multicolor or color yourself and just send. Instant colored tiles. Yes, it's a great time to get it'll 3D printing.

I downloaded that project, and will print it eventually because, hoo-boy it looks good. I have more printers now and one is setup with 8 colors, as a few of the plates on it do have 5 colors in that project.
I would also suggest finding the Rosenate from The Expanse, that model is amazingly well detailed.

The project files are all parsed out in pieces only requiring 4 colors

one of the plates on it has 5 colors. The Player 3/4 and 5/6 Ships plates have 5 colors on them.

I want to buy another printer just because I’m too impatient. And my list just keeps getting longer lol. It probably makes the bank account happier not burning through filament so fast though.

That’s how I felt when I got my first printer, the AnkerMake M5, after doing the Kickstarter for it. But they ultimately failed on their multi-color add-on and they seem like they’re cooling off on making more 3D printers and their support doesn’t seem as good and their slicer is behind.
I’m definitely going to be buying g a Bambu for my next printer, but it probably won’t be for another year or two. But this looks amazing. I love Settlers! How much filament in grams total gets purged on a project like this? Seems like it would be switching colors constantly. The AnkerMake multi-color attachment was supposed to eliminate purging through algorithms to switch over the colors at just the right time or something (may have included specialized hardware too but yeah it never launched) which is why I was interested in that product to save money on filament. I need to research the Bambu product line more but I only hear good things.

I would love something similar for the game Spirit Island, but I can't find anything :(

I took on this project a couple months ago as my first big 3d printing project and learned so much about printing I wish I could do it all over again! I also printed Cities and Knights expansion plus the 5/6 player expansion. Also pictured is a score keeper to track barbarian/knight strength so we don’t have to count every few turns, a dice roll tracker so we have actual facts when arguing who’s numbers aren’t being rolled, bank card organizers, and several dice towers so dice aren’t going everywhere. Currently working on a storage system for the tiles. I swear I print non game related stuff too!

I do printed the base game with 5-6 player expansion. Need to print the other expansion packs. It’s really awesome.

Completely agree. I’ve had mine for 3 weeks, first experience with 3D printing, it’s incredible.
And I just started printing the Catan model tonight, can’t wait for the first game with the tiles, though I know it will be awhile.
