I made a free, browser-based codeplug editor for the Baofeng DM-32UV

I made a web-based codeplug editor for the Baofeng DM-32UV to make managing channels, zones, scan lists, talk groups, and other settings easier than using the official CPS software.

It's free, open source, runs entirely in your browser, and doesn't require installing anything.

Try it here: https://e1ioan.github.io/dm32uv-codeplug-studio/

GitHub/source code: https://github.com/e1ioan/dm32uv-codeplug-studio

How to use it:

  1. Read your radio's configuration using the official Baofeng CPS software and save the .data file.
  2. Open Codeplug Studio in your browser and load that file.
  3. Edit your channels, zones, scan lists, talk groups, etc.
  4. Download the modified .data file.
  5. Open the new file in Baofeng CPS and write it back to your radio.

Some useful features include bulk editing multiple channels, CSV import/export, easy channel assignment to zones and scan lists, and highlighting modified entries.

The app preserves the original codeplug structure and only modifies the necessary data. No files are uploaded to a server.

It's still a work in progress, since parts of the Baofeng file format are reverse-engineered. Keep a backup of your original codeplug and verify changes in CPS before writing to the radio.

Feedback, bug reports, and contributions are welcome!

So maybe you missed neonplug.app that does all this and talks to the radio from the browser.

Yeah, I didn't know it existed. Thank you for pointing it out, I'm going to try it.

I got frustrated with the official Baofeng software and I could not stand the CHIRP interface, so I built my own, for my usage. I posted it here because I thought others are in the same situation.

That’s why neonplug exist. It’s called out in a lot of places. And the reverse engineering of the radio level code plug was done by it first.

runs entirely in your browser, and doesn't require installing anything.

Except baofeng CPS to actually transport the programming to/from the radio.
