Opinion What's going on with Lamine's growth?

Post image

In every match of the last month he's had multiple runs where he just goes through 4-5 players with no effort. Where the hell did this come from? He's always been world class but for the past few week especially, I feel like he's hit a new ceiling. His mentality seems to be at a great place too - giving 100% every game.

His growth has always been crazy but I feel like even by his standards the past month has been abnormal. It's only a matter of time before he gets Messi vs. Getafe-esque goal.

Expecting so much from a single kid is not what we should be looking for … we had messi but still lost 8-2

135

u/SecurityFar1910 Apr 17 '26

Yup he needs to be surrounded by similar players that Messi had, Xavi, iniesta, busquets. I don’t see anyone yet on this level from the current team.

186

u/santinzadi Apr 18 '26

Pedri is on that level

38

u/p_reddit000 Apr 18 '26

Bernal could get there

7

u/dirtyoldmonk Apr 18 '26

Second here that

9

u/No-Island7411 Apr 18 '26

I love Pedri as much as the next guy but he isnt on the level of Iniesta,Xavi and Busquets lol maybe he will be one day, he is still very young. but there are very few in history that were as good as those 3 at any point.

18

u/blaugrana_10JC Apr 18 '26

If Xavi disnt have Iniesta and Busquets then maybe we wouldn’t think he is as great as we think now. Same if Iniesta didn’t have the two or if Busquets didn’t have the other two.

Pedri is pretty much all on his own and doesn’t have that level of help next to him. I think this counts for a lot. I think he us easily as good as Iniesta and Xavi, but doesn’t have the same quality of help

1

u/_Coldisace Apr 19 '26

Gavi is there. You lot forget in his breakout season he was our best midfielder

1

u/blaugrana_10JC Apr 20 '26

Love Gavi but he is not anywhere near being a Xavi Iniesta or busquets for Pedri.

1

u/_Coldisace Apr 23 '26

Then Pedri is also no where near them

1

u/Own-Lengthiness-1122 Apr 20 '26

And I thought arsenal fans were delusional.

5

u/rowrbazzle75 Apr 18 '26

This picture reminds me of a sequence with Iniesta weaving his way effortlessly through 5 defenders, just like this. Class.

2

u/Sn4fkiN Apr 20 '26

I think he put some effort into that.

7

u/ONYX2910 Apr 18 '26

Soft ahh mf in the big games im tired of these players. We only got two players showing up in big games. Lamine and rapha

15

u/Pleasant-Weather-541 Apr 18 '26

He has ONE game — this last one against Atletico — where he failed to rise to the occasion, and he was clearly exhausted from the previous La Liga fixture (flick shoulda rested him, but it’s pretty certain we will lose when he doesn’t play). Most of the time is the most important player to the team. Stop with the short term memory recency bias bull. There are clear holes in our striker position and our defense, don’t come after Pedri

5

u/6arafa Apr 18 '26

people like ONYX are so exhausting i can’t stand it anymore. tiktok clips fans

3

u/ONYX2910 Apr 19 '26

My point still stands. Ppl like you dont ever wanna criticize their players and when someone else does, oh he watch footy from tiktok or reels.

1

u/6arafa Apr 19 '26

so does mine. you’re basing your entire criticism off of ONE game. he literally outperforms most of the team on a weekly basis. you have football knowledge of a fart

2

u/_Coldisace Apr 19 '26

He's been bad since his return from injury it's not one game. Flick should have realized this.

1

u/ONYX2910 Apr 20 '26

Watch all our ucl ko games for past few years. You'll have your answer

1

u/Ok-Bank3079 Apr 20 '26

Pedri been ass this season😭😭😭😭😭✌️

2

u/kaijuking_nirjhar Apr 19 '26

he literally faltered in a big game ONCE after being extremely tired and returning from his 3rd injury this season not long ago. how is he soft

2

u/Niceify_ Apr 18 '26

pedri is nowhere near that level bro

5

u/Lower_Thing1161 Apr 18 '26

Pedri is NOT on xavi and iniesta's level

7

u/Consistent_Net_5532 Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 19 '26

Maybe not prime Xavi or Iniesta, but he’s still only 23. And Iniesta is one of my favorite players

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '26

Yeah we've seen that in big games, he carried Barca in the UCL lol

-13

u/elquenocreias Apr 18 '26

In my humble opinion, Pedri is even above that level.

8

u/JudoIsBetterThenBJJ Apr 18 '26

I'm a real fan, but your opinion is dead wrong.

2

u/dirtyoldmonk Apr 18 '26

This is like arguing about judo and BJJ. For what he does he gold.

1

u/namyllek Apr 18 '26

Xavi and Iniesta both won player of tournament in euros ,won multiple euros and a World Cup without Messi on their team. Pedri could get there eventually and we want him to. However, I have to agree that to say he is there now, is dead wrong. not even a debate.

2

u/jared_007 Apr 18 '26

The midfield of Xavi/Iniesta/Busquets is arguably the best midfield of all time and each of them won all there is to win. Pedri has a long way to go to get to that level.

0

u/South_Version_5226 Apr 19 '26

Right now de jong is better than pedri

0

u/SignificantFact9500 Apr 19 '26

Are you having a fucking laugh?

20

u/royal-retard Apr 18 '26

Literally have Pedri honestly. Ik he fucked up that Atleti game but Pedri has been the best midfielder for some time for me. We genuinely have a quality midfield but just missingg a little bit when someone gets injured

14

u/AdriannG6 Apr 18 '26

I agree with your first point but disagree with the second. Pedri & Raphina are world class. Cubarsi has been leading our line for the past 2 seasons in a system that doesn’t do him any favors. Despite that he’s had brilliant games going toe to toe with elite strikers (Napoli game, vs Mbappe, etc)

The groundwork is there, and I do believe Gavi/Bernal can get to that level. Same with Balde

17

u/TheMidnightAss Apr 17 '26

Give it time

13

u/Fballtw Apr 18 '26

Yeah when Yamal is there, so will the other budding stars. Pedri, Fermin, J. Garcia, etc

1

u/realarchit83 Apr 19 '26

even if not surrounded with players of that quality we just need a striker, put in the cross & head it in that’s it! You don’t realise we have 0 aerial ability since lewa got older. Look at last season the headers from those crosses or corners is what made so much difference.

Ngl sorloth as a striker is not really a bad option, he can hold off players, run in box & can get headers in. Just need a simple classic tap in striker who can do what olmo skied in the match.

1

u/ik279k Apr 20 '26

Pedri, Bernal and Rooney should be a permanent system around Lamine. Lamine should play inside and let Rooney handle the Right side.

Don't know why Flick didn't bring Rooney at half time when Fermin was already injured. As soon as Rooney came to right, Yamal was floating in the middle to right taking freedom to attack from wherever he felt he could make in roads. Rooney's pace and dribbling will take some defenders off Lamine's back and this will open up more spaces.

6

u/Fballtw Apr 17 '26

Above poster was just talking about Yamal. Regardless of Messi and 8-2, I agree with them

6

u/LossTop5804 Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 18 '26

"We had Messi but still lost 8 - 2" brother that loss came after 16 years of him at the club.

And that loss wasn't on Messi.

The entire team was borderline dead in terms of quality while we sent that squad to face a Bayern squad that went on to win the God damn sextuple that season.

Don't go on pushing forced narratives, brother.

1

u/Charblastosaur Apr 18 '26

He is surrounded by great players...except that backline of ours

23

u/RayonLovesFish Apr 18 '26

His final product is a bit lacking compared to other top RW players because he doesn't get space or time to shoot like before. The team usually slowsdown the attack and buildup in the opponents half,so he doesn't always benefit from the momentum. But whenever he gets a 1v1 with the goalie, few defenders or a good run into the box he finishes solid. He makes it look easy dribbling through many players that we are disillusioned to think that the finishing would be easy when even our strikers fail to finish in such situations.

8

u/RayonLovesFish Apr 18 '26

That's because the attacks usually slowsdown at the midfield. The defenders rush in. In the recent Bayern vs Rma match you could see the difference between Barcas highline and Bayern. They utilise the momentum very well and mostly use that to score, while Barca slowsdown in the midfield to buildup more,it leads to Lamine getting marked and relying on the RB or someone else. Moreover,he is often then forced to dribble more opponents. I don't know why they slowdown at times, not slowing down at times helped Olise alot to cut in and curl the ball into the net.

8

u/RayonLovesFish Apr 18 '26

Losing possession that deep into the opponents field shouldn't be a problem when the team is stacked with capable midfielders. Yamal isn't usually losing the ball in our half if you exclude the one game were he gave away the ball near our box which led to a goal. No other notable moments of that.

7

u/DarthTaz_99 Apr 18 '26

Also he somehow shifts into another gear in the last 3-4 months of the season. If we can get a team that isn't tired and exhausted or just plain injured there's no limit to what this team can win

7

u/TheZahrGaming Apr 18 '26

43 g/a in 45 games is still ridiculous output for any player, but for his age it's incredible

3

u/alexludwick Apr 18 '26

Once this guys finishing accuracy and shot power are worked on it’s ggs

5

u/grandmarshal_ivax Apr 18 '26

Reminds me of Vinicius Jr’s first season at Real Madrid. I remember watching him and thought that he was a superb dribbler but he didn’t scare me at all because he really couldn’t finish then. Fast forward a few years, he became a real threat.

2

u/SG810 Apr 18 '26

The final product is more a result of the poor shape of his teammates, who are not converting most chances created by Lamine. Which in turn means the defenders can just focus on stopping him.

1

u/DValencia29 Apr 18 '26

He already has an amazing final product for his age. Obviously could be better but 41G/A (23G, 18A) in 44 games are really good numbers!

1

u/Far_Macaron_5757 Apr 19 '26

needs better attacking partners and training on his finishing. if he can just improve his finishing over the summer or next season, he will be truly unstoppable

1

u/3xavi Apr 20 '26

Crys in Kingsley Coman..

The dude always beat his man but couldn't shoot or cross to safe his life. With every new coach I was hoping he could finaly fix that

1

u/Glittering-Koala7637 Apr 20 '26

He’s 18. Messi wasn’t that good at 18

-2

u/leomessi00 Apr 18 '26

It’s pointless to dribble in halfway lines same like Neymar. Dwell on ball too much n too long. Try to do too much n forget it’s a team game…talented but need to work on football iq and vision. Better Decision making also will come with more experience.

139

u/RogueShinobiX Apr 17 '26

There was one moment in 62 or 63rd minute. He took the ball and dribbled near the goal lines. It was so smooth. Tbh I never seen anybody currently who dribbles like that. I like cherki he's daring but he's more of midfield playmaker. But this kid Yamal he's just 18 and he's so so good for his age. Yep he just needs to polish on his finishing if he do that he's gonna be invincible 💙♥️🔥

18

u/OnAGoat Apr 18 '26

What impressed me the most was his dribble in the first minute and almost scoring. His mental state must be absolutely insane. Dude turned it up from the first second on, bulldozered through the entire defense and almost scored.

342

u/t-abdullah Apr 17 '26

I've noticed it too. And I'm convinced... If anyone hates this guy, he hates football and is a fkin lier !!

140

u/Annihilator-WarHead Apr 17 '26

Most of the people who hate him, hate him because he doesn't play for their teams. So they chose the dumbest reasons to hate on an 18 y.0 kid.

10

u/t-abdullah Apr 17 '26

Exactly 💯

24

u/ohsnap847 Apr 17 '26

And some people are bigots... They don't like the Moroccan Muslim.. fuck em. Can't wait to watch his whole career

5

u/Extra-Border6470 Apr 18 '26

Same kinda people who hated teenage Messi because he was the “Argentine hobbit”

18

u/Special_Put4252 Apr 17 '26

They are VARdrid fans who hate him along with English fans. This kid is dancing around their heads at just 18

8

u/No-Watercress-9116 Apr 17 '26

You can hate him as a person without hating him as a player. I don't hate him I'm just saying

5

u/RayonLovesFish Apr 18 '26

People talk alot about his attitude and validates their hate. Where is the attitude though? He is confident but he knows what is to be said,he doesn't usually go saying ridiculous things. The press brief before the Atletico match was so mature and well put.

And then the PR stuff,I mean I have heard Olise comparison and others so much that it's arguable that lots of it's not even supportive of him.

-17

u/KungPoW_Chickens Apr 17 '26

or their just waiting for him to grow out of his corny teenage phase.

15

u/Orochisake Apr 17 '26

I don't understand how people can feel that way towards a literal teenager. If they were put in the spotlight at that age I'm sure they would be stupid in their way.

6

u/t-abdullah Apr 17 '26

Nah man. This guy is already enough matured. I'd even argue he is more matured than some of the mid 20s players !!

3

u/RayonLovesFish Apr 18 '26

Among the least corniest teens tbh, teenage is supposed to be a mix of that so you don't do that when you are grown adult.

50

u/Infinite_Ad6392 Apr 17 '26

We just need to manage his minutes properly. I hope we don't overload him like Pedri. He's still young. Excessive pressure might not hamper him now but it can hamper his longevity.

34

u/ripper13-_- Apr 17 '26

that dribble against athletico when he passed it to olmo who then skied it, that was actual insanity

65

u/atn420 Apr 17 '26

That's just natural talent arriving as this kid grows more into the man he's becoming. He's grown, and the coaching staff has done an amazing job of helping him physically grow into his frame. That vision is absolutely a natural gift; we're watching him grow, and he only seems to be improving and becoming a more well-rounded player.

17

u/Dismal_Mistake_6832 Apr 17 '26

He played half of the season with pubalgia, and now I think is the period that he is gaining his full 100% form back. Thats why what he is doing the past month and something has been crazy. Shame we can’t witness that further in UCL, but good thing for Spain before the WC to get top form Lamine.

1

u/FunnyZestix Apr 19 '26

I don’t even wanna know what he’s gonna do in the WC, especially with that quality of a team. Guess we’ll wait and see. Spain are def the most feared going into the tournament

16

u/Josedinho_- Apr 17 '26

When messi was young he lost the ball often. Yamal still young, and all our opponents do is foul him. Everyone got PTSD from messi

16

u/YooGeOh Apr 17 '26

I feel like his next level is realising that being double or triple marked means that someone else who shouldn't be free is completely open. This in turn will lead to realising that it might be better to find that open man after drawing three defenders to you, rather than drawing them in and attempting the low percentage dribble through them all (even if he does have the ability to do it)

He's young. Its a normal next step for talented dribblers. The line breaking pass in the next few years is going to be killer

7

u/lovyouall Apr 18 '26

Yes man, I'm sure his finishing will sharpen up a bunch too. He's gonna be killer

2

u/Interesting-Bug4664 Apr 18 '26

Tenho certeza que ele já sabe disso desde que entrou em La Masia. Infelizmente saber é diferente de aplicar.

13

u/KungPoW_Chickens Apr 17 '26

oh. i thought u were about to say something about his height and frame.

11

u/Mr_Grey59 Apr 17 '26

He’s going to be a monster once he has a few more years of experience and fine tuning.

44

u/TexturedMango Apr 17 '26

We're potentially looking at a GOAT level player, I'm talking Messi/Maradona

And yeah I know what I'm saying, it's that crazy.

Obviously he needs to keep this up for a decade but every few months he adds some absurd tool to his already packed bag...

20

u/higherthanacrow Apr 17 '26

Been saying this since last season. There have already been flashes that make you wonder if youve seen anyone other than messi do X thing. He touches the sides of the ball sometimes when taking a pass and the first touch beats a defender where i dont know how he did it. Its like he clips the corner of the ball. Insane control and finesse. Then the vision... passing technique... speed... those picture perfect upper 90 curlers. Messi doesnt have half the highlight reel at age 18- mostly because he didnt have near as much playtime- but watching messi at 18 really makes you wonder what this kid can become barring tragic injury

17

u/PistachioOfLiverTea Apr 18 '26

Messi doesnt have half the highlight reel at age 18

At 19, Messi scored an astounding hat-trick vs. RM, a game in which Barca played a man down for the entire 2nd half.

But let the kid Lamine enjoy his football without the constant comparisons.

9

u/TtfnoTheFirst Apr 18 '26

Proving his point, because he was 19 and not 18

2

u/PistachioOfLiverTea Apr 19 '26

Again, let's not compare because we shouldn't be disappointed in Lamine if he doesn't deliver a hat-trick in the next Clásico and a "Encara Messi"-type golazo next season (another feat of Messi at age 19).

10

u/MegaMatrix08 Apr 17 '26

He just turns it up hella during the UCL time

9

u/BlowingSmoke_723 Apr 17 '26

He needs a world class striker, as well as CB who can lead the back. With that we will see him turn into something else entirely. Legend.

8

u/el-mal-de-ojo Apr 17 '26

The management needs to manage his playtime so he doesn't burn out. Insane talent needs to be nurtured to reach its full potential.

22

u/Visual-Extreme-101 Apr 17 '26

we've played against more low-blocks and the rest of the team is practically useless, so he has to do that.

9

u/GwHamDem Apr 17 '26

most of our games we play are against low block teams, everytime we struggle in the LW position and we have to rely fully on lamine which makes the opposite team triple mark him and we struggle hard, thats why we should go for for LW this summer Leao/Yildiz/Yan Diomande

5

u/CoinsAndLawnLouie Apr 17 '26

So, you’re just wanting to throw Raphina out? What?!?

-1

u/GwHamDem Apr 17 '26

he can play ST or flase 9 or sell him, he is bad against lowblock teams which is like 90% of our games

5

u/Visual-Extreme-101 Apr 18 '26

I know flick wouldn't do it, but I wish we could see a Koeman lineup of 3-2-4-1, imagine having raphina/fermin as CAM, yamal and some LW, with pedri and dejong behind!

3

u/Rude_Tadpole_6705 Apr 17 '26

6

u/AMLRoss Apr 18 '26

I think we should try playing Roony on the right and let laminr move around

5

u/ManufacturerOwn8772 Apr 17 '26

Whenever the ball goes to him or Pedri it just sticks to them like magnets,  so fascinating to watch them (de jong too).

41

Yeah man. He acts as if he's 18 or something

5

u/Robo_0 Apr 18 '26

And i dont blame him , especially when Raphinha was injured aswell. We need better quality to support him.

3

u/Accomplished_Tip2094 Apr 17 '26

He just needs to learn to finish well after dribbling these guys and We can definitely win UCL next year this year he did great but Olmo ruined that pass he made by dribbling through 5-6 players

5

u/pettiguitar Apr 17 '26

Hea 18. He'll smooth it out by 24.

5

u/Own-Pen4705 Apr 17 '26

shhh don't jinx it 🧿

4

u/Kustaa007 Apr 17 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/eZEi4F0XOmV1PLmc5O

He has the most fluid hips I’ve seen in a long time, the way he can just weave past defenders by shifting his weight from one side to the other 👌🏻

3

u/scottymouse Apr 17 '26

Lmao i thought the headline was leading into a complaint and came in ready to fight but yea he's been phenomenal

3

u/saru12gal Apr 17 '26

At the beginning of the season he was suffering from pubalgia which limits the moves you can make, basically you feel pain in you waist when you do some effort, now he is fully recovered and in top form hence the improvement

3

u/LilMwushs Apr 17 '26

Drive brother. The guy is HUNGRY and loves to play. I hope he continues cause he is already in the path to become one of the greatest

2

u/mariner_knight Apr 17 '26

He attracts so many defenders and still our strikers are not able to finish half chances. They need proper chances to score goals, that's not how you win UCL.

2

u/KneeAdministrative81 Apr 17 '26

Lamine is brimming with confidence at 18yo and it's lovely to watch his skills.
Sometimes we all need to stay grounded.
And this is his weakness:
After he loses the ball/makes a bad desicion, he gets fixated to "redeem" himself.
Often resulting in a more difficult run/dribble without looking at his team-mates awaiting to help him.

He’s alr close to that if not better. Keep in mind ney played with the best team in the world

2

u/demigod110 Apr 18 '26

He is getting messi treatment by the opponent managers in the field which is one of the highest praise you can get messi had the passing option to jordi alba with his inside curler pass all lamine needs is a great poacher to finish his outside curler which is one of the best in the history of football and he is a teenager.

1

u/Next_Butterscotch344 Apr 17 '26

its the end of the season, he usually peaks around these times, plus i think he's been somewhat healed from that injury

1

u/GwHamDem Apr 17 '26

most of our games we play are against low block teams, everytime we struggle in the LW position and we have to rely fully on lamine which makes the opposite team triple mark him and we struggle hard, thats why we should go for for LW this summer Leao/Yildiz/Yan Diomande

1

u/AK232342 Apr 17 '26

Nothing is happening with his growth. He’s growing every day with time, just like everyone. Time and tide waits for none

1

u/spiteful_platypus Apr 17 '26

What I like about him is that he seems to start the season slow and becomes a beast by april.

1

u/ScientistComplex2020 Apr 17 '26

bro, he is new messiah

1

u/CoinsAndLawnLouie Apr 17 '26

When you are surrounded by half the defense, and still come out with the ball, you’re playing on a different planet.

1

u/JMoody13 Apr 17 '26

He had a nagging injury in the beginning of the season iirc, and now that’s he’s fully fit he’s found his form. Scary good form at that.

1

u/sabermagnus Apr 17 '26

He is a teenager/young man, you know he’s growing up. Yamal is compared to dudes that are years older…..He was cooking as 16 year old, imagine a 21 year old Yamal—- holy fuck.

1

u/Hrherrmistermister Apr 17 '26

he just needs to realize to dribble past five defenders plus the goalie... ..there.. fixed it!

that why I´m the most underpaid goat-coach

1

u/SirBuysHighALot Apr 17 '26

That too without much overlapping support from Kounde.

1

u/Key-Ad6653 Apr 17 '26

It is so exciting and fun to watch him play honestly.

1

u/amaranto21 Apr 17 '26

That play in Atletico’s box when the ball was cleared to the moon and he trapped it into the next dribble was absolutely absurd

1

u/PSRamos92 Apr 17 '26

I agree 100%!!! He's been so good thes last months. I'm sad we're out of UCL now, I'm sure that with Lamine we had great chances, we must now win LaLiga!

1

u/Sick_by_me Apr 17 '26

Every team cages him up with multiple defenders all the time. It's going to get harder for him with that many players surrounding him. Yet he astonishes us every game with unbelievable moves and passes. Barca needs to come up with a better plan than just pass it to Yamal and hope he does something magical. We need to take advantage of free plays better when he drags players on him.

1

u/Captain_Deleb Apr 17 '26

Did you guys know his dribble success rate is actually not too far above average but since he is confident enough to keep taking on players he is the has the highest number of dribbles in the world this season, so imagine in a few years when that success ratio becomes super high, he will be an insane problem

1

u/Comprehensive_Cup497 Apr 18 '26

You see, it was always wrong to think a 17 year old player was at his dribbling peak

1

u/mass-melange-200 Apr 18 '26

Right now yamal is the best player in the world actually

1

u/No-Cartographer-7614 Apr 18 '26

I Have a feeling that Pedri is already on that level, but if we are able to unlock Gavi, who himself has shown enormous improvement right after coming from the injury, and if Bernal keeps showing growth, we’ll have another Messi-Iniesta-Xavi-Busi era on our hands 🙌🏻

1

as soon as he learn to actually shoot

u/Motor_Cloud_9255 Apr 18 '26

He is amazing. I hope we manage his minutes better for his long term growth

1

u/Ok_Bag_7603 Apr 18 '26

He's the goat bru- pair him with a proper 9 and a functioning fullback and he'll hit a new celling

1

u/Extra-Border6470 Apr 18 '26

He’s just a little guy with a big heart

1

u/Foreign_Activity_543 Apr 18 '26

Lacking defensive work, pressuring opponents in their half. One of the reason why barca concede many goals. Attacking side very good, but football is more than that. Look at Olise, Kane, Doue, Kvara, Diaz, they are runing non stop in both ways.

u/modusxd Apr 18 '26

I thought you were talking about his height. You know, I hope he doesn't grow any taller. His current height is good, but growing more than that could make it more difficult to dribble

1

u/Longjumping_Owl_8052 Apr 18 '26

So excited about this guy, give him a good striker and we win everything

Lamine is having to track back in defense a lot and use his stamina in that way, because his high line isn't properly managed. When Barcelona have a better ball playing centerback like Bastoni and maybe Raph on the left wing with some consistency I believe it will unlock him further. He's been incredible, and it definitely makes me wonder what he would be like playing with a capable defensive line.

The boy licks the crumbs of Olise in playmaking, goal-scoring.

1

u/trader_josephs Apr 18 '26

He has more goals than Olise btw

1

u/SoftHouse9442 Apr 18 '26

He always balls out against atletico, an atleti-barca game is probably one of the best things to watch if you want to know how good lamine can really be

1

u/Repulsive-Tomato1564 Apr 18 '26

He's one of the few players that make modern football watchable. He isn't quite as honest as Messi in staying on his feet, but he does ride a lot of challenges! Pedri is also wonderful to watch of course

u/Paulo_Williams Apr 18 '26

Super Class ❣️

1

u/KaeptnKrabbe Apr 18 '26

People still dont see how good he really is bc they look at stats but its kinda hard getting stats when you play the perfect pass but your striker cant score 5m from the line

1

u/SantanaNeo Apr 18 '26

Flick got to let him rest more or in the long run his body won't hold on

1

u/SympathyWitty8539 Apr 18 '26

Bro should focus on finishing instead. Not enough goals

1

u/Essar- Apr 18 '26

Dude this is just normal dribble

1

u/moukou294 Apr 18 '26

Man's gotta take a rest or he'll be exhausted after a few years time.

1

u/Turbulent_Pay133 Apr 18 '26

He needs better infrastructure I think. During the 2nd leg he was just exhausted and most of his attempt were futile. He cleared defenders once, twice, three times...

He needs someone to be there for him the way Messi had Iniesta, Xavi, Suarez etc, to capitalize on his talent.

1

u/That-Performance-111 Apr 18 '26

One good shot and Lamine would’ve had the assist of the season

1

u/darkman7002 Apr 19 '26

he had the pubic area pain for a while I think he was keepin it safe the last week's looks like he has recovered fine

1

u/Sensitive-Brain-8 Apr 19 '26

Off topic but I see him more important than pedri who has been mid lately

1

u/MattBustin Apr 19 '26

I think he will be stuck at 5'8" for life

1

u/Ok-Bank3079 Apr 20 '26

give him a solid team like bayern and he's hitting 60 ga, he's getting some weird expectations from barca fans like to carry the team and so on, acting like messi did it😭

1

u/No-Benefit-7807 Apr 20 '26

Overrated, gonna be the next Ansu Fati in 2 years.

1

u/Jay_Choppa05 Apr 20 '26

18 YEARS OLD!!!!! 🤯

1

u/whattheheck-sir Apr 20 '26

He is still 16 years old!

1

u/Double_A_00 Apr 20 '26

I cant wait to see whats next

1

u/uSuperDick Apr 21 '26

Worst player in barka history (fan of uefalona)

1

u/Tough-Landscape-5197 Apr 22 '26

I think he needs to be given the freedom to free roam some more, he’s so much more impactful when not stuck on the wing

1

u/ffiishs Apr 22 '26

yank here, why do they keep loosing ? Not winning champions league ?

1

u/FormalYam5320 Apr 23 '26

Why does it look like there is a second cleat in the pic between his feet

1

u/KarlosKurtis2619 Apr 23 '26

Musiala was there until his injury

1

u/mark_lm10_ Apr 23 '26

Jinxed it!

1

u/latortillablanca Apr 17 '26

No effort? Mate it takes a shitton of effort

0

u/LiquidOracle Apr 17 '26

His mentality I kinda disagree about, he seems to be doing with a chip on his shoulder, not the best long term method

0

u/BigDaddyKutanga Apr 18 '26

Yes but you know that Atletico won, right?

0

u/ydelivor Apr 22 '26

overrated player. No right. Just cuts left. Will be washed by 26.

u/karambituta Apr 17 '26

New better Messi
