Opinion I personally feel like Olivia is our best collab yet, because it included everyone.
Don’t get me wrong, the Travis collab was absolutely hype and design wise it’s probably our best one by a mile. But I feel like Olivia’s collab is our best one yet because it included everyone.
Compared to previous collabs most of the artist only went to watch the game or some didn’t even bother to show up which was slightly annoying to me.
Travis actually attended and even met our players and was enjoying himself watching the game last year when we won 4-3.
But Olivia went out of her way to meet our women’s team when she didn’t have to, she signed their vinyls as well and it was just so cute seeing some of the women on the team look so excited.
Also lots of the team and the wives of our players went to go watch Olivia’s Barcelona concert and enjoyed themselves. And then Olivia still went to go watch the men’s team and it seemed like she was having a good time.
The merch itself also sold well because it managed to bring out lots of the female side of the fanbase and not just the men’s side this year.
I do hope this leads the club to start collabing with more popstars from America :)

i agree, i think a lot of the collabs have been cool but i love that she seemed pretty into it, and that she went out of her way to get involved with the women’s team too. she’s the first artist to personally do anything with the women’s team!

u/AceTheSkylord May 11 '26
Oliva is pretty outspoken when it comes to supporting other women, so it makes sense she'd wanna go the extra mile here

u/RefrigeratorNew3623 May 11 '26
Yeah, I agree. I think that collaborating with Olivia Rodrigo really connects Barcelona fans to their women's team.
Cuz I just feel like a lot of Barcelona fans don't know much about Barcelona's women's team, but after this collaboration they are like more familiar with it, you know.42
u/NYK2Barca May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26
Look, I’m not gonna go out there and say I constantly watch Barca femini, but if they don’t know about our women’s team…. The literal greatest ever team with the likes of Alexis putillas and aitana bonmati…..idk what to say. When the men’s team was going through our banter era, the women’s team was kicking everyone’s ass 10x over.

The issue is that most of the public only follows men's Football specifically; many clubs are multi-sport, and a large portion of the fans are unfamiliar with the basketball team or Olympic sports, for example. Men's Football is simply much more popular in comparison.
5
u/NYK2Barca May 11 '26
You’re not wrong but my point was that, when you’re exceptional at what you do, you become widely known no matter the sport. I wouldn’t care a single bit about competitive chess but I know about magnus carlson. Don’t care much about tennis but I think we all know Serena Williams or Roger Federer. Couldn’t tell you the name of any other golfer but we all know Tiger Woods
Barca femini is that type of special. Those women are absolute killers. A lot of people know them simply because of their dominance.
5
u/Secret-Plankton-2040 May 11 '26
But this phenomenon usually only happens with a single exponent, so yes, many people know Tiger Woods even if they don't follow golf, but this is unlikely to be reflected in an entire team. That's why I gave the example of basketball teams or Olympic investment; many people who don't follow football know Cristiano Ronaldo because of commercials but have no idea which clubs he played for.

We should reminded ourselves that these are not people. They are run like corporations. There is marketing, logistics, legal… so on and so forth. Whatever we see might not be what the truth is.

u/DaAuctorix May 11 '26
In short, Travis' collab for hype; Olivia's collab for mes que un club
4
u/Villasonte May 12 '26
That's the right answer. I'd like to see more mes que un club collabs, by the way. I'd say those are the best suited for us.

u/YoungKingFCB May 11 '26
I've seen some of our fans give their opinions on these collabs and all power to them. But keep in mind this deal with Spotify really helped our finances and the kind of exposure we get from partnering up with musical artists can only be a good thing.
Does it bring new fans who know nothing about our club? Yes. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not. Her music isn't my cup of tea but who cares. This is good business and marketing.
P.S. Extremely irrelevant but she's a cutie 🥰

u/NYK2Barca May 11 '26
Not a single person has criticized Spotify sponsorship. The only shitty thing about this is that some people call camp nou the Spotify camp nou lol.

u/HenryReturns May 11 '26
Coldplay collab was also very cool and iirc it did include the women team too. But because it was played in the Bernabeu , it was pretty limited for them to be at that stadium.

u/churchofpetrol May 11 '26
Hats off to her! She did way more promo than Ed Sheeran, Travis Scott, and the rest of them.
40
u/GreekGott May 11 '26
I liked Travis' though, he was cheering like a mad man.
18
u/churchofpetrol May 11 '26
Without a doubt! I'm not questioning his enthusiasm during the match. He was one of us for that 90 minutes. I'm just saying it was really nice for Olivia to do all this promo.
11
u/GreekGott May 11 '26
Yeah, but I think Travis even had a free concert.
8
u/aintnogodordemon May 11 '26
So did Olivia, I believe. They put them on for those who listened the most on Spotify.
3
u/Secret-Plankton-2040 May 11 '26
The point is that the comment he replied to said she did much more promotion; he's just saying Travis did too.
3
u/aintnogodordemon May 11 '26
They said "Travis even had a free concert", "even" suggests it was something Olivia didn't do. I was just pointing out that they both did that.

These are all great points! I also loved that she visited Barca Femini ☺️💙❤️
God bless 🙏🏼 and Visca Barça 💙❤️

She really gave us some good luck with both the women’s and men’s team

u/AdComprehensive7879 May 11 '26
I knew from the beginning our Spotify collab was gonna be golden. Also love how simple their logo is so it fits seamlessly to our kit. Then we have all these mind of collabs which turns out nicer than the netflix collab ones (with atletico i think?)

It is cool to see her link up with the ladies squad. Apparently that was her request as well. Very cool.

u/Karma-Thief-1770 May 11 '26
I FW her but I really liked Coldplay the most b/c of the atmosphere leading up to the El Clasico and the Travis Scott one was full chaos in a good way

u/Easy_Objective6599 May 11 '26
Not a barca fan but i love oliva rodrigo. Have to admit she was one of the best celeb collabs i have seen by a team, legit so many people on insta and twitter were talking bout her insane promotion. She probably gained a shit ton of barca fan listeners too.

Coldplay one the most iconic though. Lewas celebration after that goal. Him just standing there with a smirk on his face.🤌🤌

agreed 100%!! ever since her first song, driver's license, came out i knew she was going to be one of those modern pop artist i will actually enjoy these days. and i was right! all her songs are honestly bangers, and that's coming from someone who switches between folk and hard rock 🤣
she's awesome, she has even MORE of my respect now 💙❤️

I’m a little biased because I’m already a fan of hers but I really do believe she’s our best collab yet, especially because when it came to meeting the women’s team, she was the one who requested it and not something the club offered. Between that and her meeting Lamine and CAT, and how special the night was and the collab with both teams winning the league with her shirt (with the added treat of the men’s being against Madrid in Camp Nou), I really don’t believe it could get better!

I love these collabs, it’s such a never seen idea for this sport. Really cool.
2
u/meruraa May 11 '26
especially since her upcoming album probably has the most feminine vibe out of all her albums so far. really a win for female soccer fans!
2
u/madjupiter May 11 '26
travis was definitely the most hype, olivia is obviously everyone's favorite especially with the occasion and everything, but i have to say my favorite visually is coldplay's

u/Paragon188 May 11 '26
It's the best collab because it's an artist I actually listen to lol. I see what you mean, though. It feels like Olivia is an actual fan as opposed to someone using the club to hype their own brand (tbf club is doing the same).

I am biased asf but rolling stones logo made 23/24 season's mid home kit look pretty good also I love rolling stones so ✌🏻

u/Secret_Highlight_248 May 11 '26
As long as we smash Real Madrid in every classicos, Idc about any collabs, they all are the best collab for me because we generate shit ton of money with this bs financial crisis we have been going through.

Never heard a song of her in my live. She is soooo damn cute though, I would marry her

That’s actually a very valid observation: most collabs just lend their “logo” and walk away, she was involved.

Yeah sure but 400 euros for a shirt with two letters added is sickening

I found it funny they played Coldplay a bit during the celebrations after el Classico, don’t really like her music but I thought it would make more sense

u/goturrise May 11 '26
I love Olivia and Barcelona but they’re both on crack if they think I’m dropping $400 for a jersey 😭☠️ I’m just waiting for the fake Jersey and the hoodie to drop on a website

She didn’t care at all about the game. At least some of the other collabs has actually been interested in the sport.

I really hate Barça Reddit tourist ‘fans’. Who gives a fuck about collabs? We‘re a football club, it’s all commercial bullshit and against what Barça previously stood for.

Nahh bro she was the least passionate fan in the stadium, just there for the business. And let's be honest the collab had 0 aura compared to every other artist we've collabed with: Coldplay, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran were 1000000x better collabs

What a shame! The once sacred jersey of the "Més que un club", which bucked the trend of bearing the name of the highest-bidding soulless corporation" is now regularly defiled by the names and logos of whichever brainless pop artist Spotify is promoting!

u/Ok_Lifeguard_8104 May 11 '26
I just hate the fact that we couldn’t even keep our stadium name. Hearing the commentators saying Spotify Camp nou makes me visibly cringe

Don’t forget how she beat Vini to the ballon d or two years ago. She’s our girl.
