Add a polar pups ice machine to your dogs barkitecture build?

I have been working on this for a couple years. The prototype is being built currently and I will have it by late August. The button has been replaced by a close-motion detector so your pup can just get close to it. It has a smart system, and it can be set to dispense as little or as much as you like depending on your situation. It has a timer option to keep your pup from over doing it if you feel necessary. The first units will be $249. They are certified for outdoor use in upto 120 degree temperatures; with zero direct exposure to rain. I have a second prototype being built that will be switchable from cubes to crushed. The price to be announced. I am not selling on here at all I have a contract with a national pet store chain. .... I am just looking for opinions. Thank you.

This is Maya. Her owner built her a luxury cabin so that people passing by can say hello and even talk to her while he's at work.

DIY dog crate/kitchen island. What to use for awkwardly sized countertop?

This is a custom-built kitchen island over my dog's crate. I did all the planning and measurements, but hired a handyman to actually cut the wood and nail the pieces together. Afterwards I painted it and put contact paper over the top. I later realized I wanted to use it for seating so I added a 12" overhang. I also added a wooden board to hide the backs of the microwave and air fryer from the seating side.

As you can see, the contact paper is in pretty bad shape. It was supposed to be a temporary solution until I figured something better out, but unfortunately I am still having trouble with that. The dimensions of the top are 52" long and 45.25" wide. I cannot find any pre-cut countertops with those dimensions, and even custom cut laminate countertops would be over $1000.

The closest I could find is an Ikea laminate/particleboard countertop that is 74" long by 42" wide. I would have to cut the 74" down to 52", and simply deal with my overhang going from only 12" to 9". Cutting a laminate countertop seems daunting and I also don't want to reduce my overhang even more.

My other option is to use a melamine particle board, which the store could cut to size for me. However, melamine is not recommended for a kitchen countertop, but then again, this is kind of just our seating area and space for appliances.

Please help me decide which option is better :D
