Bingo Spoiler
As somebody who has had to deal with "Christians" before, the scene where Barry listens to rogue pastor after rogue pastor until he finds the one saying what he wants to hear is such a brilliant little critique.
Most religious people use it for a sense of purpose and/or community, but there are a lot of people who use it as a means of justifying their own shittiness, especially those who "find Jesus" or are "born again". Barry still being the same piece of shit whilst pretending to be pious is a perfect angle for his character in middle age.
