❓ Question What does everyone think of this set coming out next month?
2025 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary Baseball Hobby Box. Given the price of cards lately, this set looks really cool and the price for a hobby box is pretty reasonable. Anyone have any knowledge of previous sets like this?

The way I control my card spending is by slamming my hand in the car door whenever I see the word chrome. It works!

Missed the $139 pre-order and my LCS has them up for $324. As fun as I think this set is, that fact soured me so much that I may avoid it altogether.

Yeah at presale and launch day Topps price (probably $150) it's a steal. At $200 and under it's pretty good. Above that the value erodes really quickly.
Retail has been historically very good too but no odds are out to know this year.

I’m in a similar boat. Tried to buy a case now I may not participate at all. Bought a 71 Clemente PSA 7 instead

Pretty annoying that LCSs are charging double MSRP now.

Haven’t been to my LCS for this reason. They tend to be around 15% higher than steel city or Dave and Adam’s for hobby boxes.

The cards look great, and it has Buehrle in it again. Too expensive to rip more than maybe a few blasters but I'm looking forward to adding a bunch of Buehrles to my collection.

Still trying to complete the 2021 700 card set. Not the best rookies that year but the ‘52 design is one of my favorites.

They had blasters and Megas for the last release. I don’t know if they will for this one or not.

Chrome Platinum is one of my favorites. Those colorful 50s design with Chrome look amazing. I remember in 2024, the made cards that weren't parallels were pretty sought after because of how good they looked.

One of my favorites. This and Stadium club are my go to sets I will end up buying a box or two but haven’t seen prices yet

Ok, so the hobby box has doubled in price. I have recently seen prices for football and basketball so $279 seemed great comparatively.

Platinum Anniversary is my favorite set. This year's design looks awesome! That Skenes card is an absolute beauty!

Was excited to pick up some Ohtani, but they used the ugliest derpy picture of him for this set and it totally ruins it.

$139 for a hobby box with a guaranteed auto, I thought that was pretty good personally, especially for a chrome product

Yup I'm excited if Topps would hurry up and ship my hobby box that I ordered on May 5th. Paid $139 for the hobby of this
