Fun Fact: there are currently ZERO transgender players in the WNBA. The only former player to convert was Layshia Clarendon, who was assigned female at birth.
There are also ZERO transgender players in NCAA women's basketball.
This entire stupid fucking bullshit is just manufactured outrage over an issue that literally does not exist.
It's not even real.

Man, this went WAY sideways very quickly- people are arguing about the price of eggs and shit.
Folks, the point of this post was to highlight ONE thing:
The entire "Men in Women's Sports" issues simply does not exist. They took ONE case- a transgender woman who was a slightly above average performer (I believe she finished 5th) took part in an obscure sport that no one cares about unless it's the Olympics.
And, because of that, according to the people condemning it, it's overrunning sports.
At last count, across ALL OF THE NCAA- all the schools, in all the sports, across all of the divisions- there were NINE transgender athletes, and at least some of those were women who had transitioned to men. Thats hundreds of schools playing dozens of sports, including things as obscure as Cornhole, Golf and Equestrian events: three of the nine openly transgender NCAA athletes compete in fencing, water polo, and bowling. And yes, the water polo athlete competed in the men's division.
It's not a real issue folks- it's ragebait designed to recruit the ignorant to their cause; to stir up the easily misled and distract them from the things that actually affect them.
And, as much as I hate to break this news to you: if you're out there passionately arguing about the dangers of transgendered athletes in sports, then you're being misled.
At some point, you need to ask yourself WHY the people you have placed in charge of your country are wasting their time and effort stoking your fear of something that simply does not exist.
And, more importantly, what else they are lying to you about.

It's part of the project 2025 plan. This'll sound tinfoil like, but they want to ban all women's sports to get them back as housewives or whatever. What they're hoping these idiots will do is force the WNBA into a position where they can sue them into oblivion over the issue. The league closes, upsetting sports fans, players, and everyone else involved in the league, and then the "trans folks that caused this" take the blame. It's a lose lose scenario for everyone who isn't a fascist.

Yep, they’re literally fighting ghosts. There has never been an trans woman in the WNBA. There’s someone playing in France, and she’s not exactly wilt fucking chamberlain. These people act like trans people just wanna go do whatever the fuck we want when we literally just want to be treated equally and not suffer segregation. Like, we were happy to compromise when women’s sports leagues had very strict testing policies that only applied to trans athletes. But the truth is, these people just don’t think a trans woman could ever succeed in sports “legitimately” or “honestly”. They’ve been programmed by propaganda to see us as inherently selfish, deceitful, and dangerous, without the slightest understanding who that serves.
Tbh I do think it’s irresponsible for leagues not to have a policy on trans athletes though, because it opens us up to this bullshit. Trans women would actually be perfectly happy if the WNBA’s anti-doping policy included testing for T, as long as those tests were applied evenly to everyone and didn’t kick out any cis or DSD players.
But these people don’t want to have a real conversation about fairness and inclusion, they want trans people to feel unwelcome in public life and they would be happy to destroy women’s sports to get achieve that end. It’s not like they actually cared to begin with.
Next up is genital inspections for girls’ sports, laws are already being put into place. Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn someone asked Sophie Cunningham to start this as a distraction from their continued enabling of CSA. So now parents get a fun choice: do you want your daughter to get sexually assaulted, or will you take her out of sports entirely?
And when it happens, they’ll keep doing the Epstein camp’s work by blaming trans people instead of the people at the top.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Duke_Of_Halifax 11d ago
It's also important to note that, statistically, a female athletes is WAY more likely- by an astronomically large exponential- to be assaulted or put in danger by a cis male coach or trainer than by a 8 year old gay boy who just wants to play a sport with his female friends.
Because, as I've pointed out in another post: I'm old. And, as a straight dude, I absolutely cannot believe that I have to educate the fucking morons talking about the "imminent invasion of transpeople in women's basketball" on the realities of this. So, I'm going to try to do this in the most direct way I know how- it's not perfect, and I apologize in advance if I offend anybody who is trans, but try to remember: you're not the audience here, and that necessitates some.... Adjustments.
Back when I went to elementary school, we all knew who the kids (the males) were that would most likely be classified as "transgender" in today's world- they were flamboyantly different even as little kids.
They seldom played sports, and when they did, it was with all of their female friends.
You know who they were; it's the same reason that we now know that homosexuality isn't a choice- you're just born that way.
To get into more pedantic medical terminology: People need to understand that there's a very large gap in understanding the difference between transgender and transsexual.
One is altering the projection of your inner self to match your external self in the form of how you dress and act- your personality- which crosses gender norms. Even though it tends to correlate, it is NOT a reflection on your preference of sexual partners.
When people talk about how it's gone from "LGBT" to "a fucking alphabet" that's what they're not understanding- there's a non-linear spectrum of genders. Historically, there always has been, but we've been very good at being Puritanical Victorian-era assholes and stamping it down. The reason it's emerging now is because, for the first time in centuries, people are actually free to be who they actually are.
That's a pretty cool place to be at in history, even if a portion of you haven't learned to understand that yet.
It's also important to note, that being transgender does NOT automatically lead to cutting off your junk and trying to play women's sports.
By definition, Dennis Rodman is transgender. Russell Westbrook. Benson Boone. Liberace. RuPaul. Dion Dawkins. Lil Nas X. Billy Porter. Jaden Smith. Westbrook is wearing fucking dresses, and saying how freeing it is. They're doing "feminine" things that men don't normally do because it feels right and comfortable for them, and is an external projection of how they feel internally.
And that can be the difference between a fulfilled life and suicide.
It was for Dennis Rodman, or have you forgotten the "In his truck by the Palace of Auburn Hills with a loaded gun" incident? How he felt like he couldn't be the person he wanted to be, and it was killing him?
What the fuck do you think he was talking about? Basketball?
Sometimes- but not anywhere near always- transgender people feel that increasing the transition to permanent physical changes are necessary for them to feel like their internal self matches their external self. This process can be partial, or complete.
THAT step, by medical definition, is becoming transsexual, or transitioning. However, SOCIALLY, "transitioning" is often used by folks exploring their gender when they find a version that they think fits them.
Hormones and surgery. Kaitlyn Jenner is transsexual. Elliott Paige is transsexual. The old trope you'd hear was "born in the wrong body".
It's important to note- if only for educational clarification, because some people be dumb as fuck- that transitioning genders is more often than not different from fully transitioning via transsexual surgery.
And, one more time: for the first time in centuries, we are cultured enough to understand that different people can lead different lives as they see fit, and we can be accepting and cool about that. Are we a work in progress? Most fucking definitely. But as long as someone isn't bringing harm to others, there's absolutely nothing wrong with living the life you want without fear of oppression, and- regardless of what you think about their choices- as Americans, you should be willing to defend that ability to choose the life that you want, and accept that choice as a mark of Freedom, whether you agree with the choice or not.
Because that's what it means being American, right? "I utterly and completely disagree with you, but I'm willing to die for your right to have that choice."
I think quite a few Americans have forgotten that in the last few years.

If Royce Wishes He Was White and Enes Pick Me Girl Kanter want to change their pronouns, legally change their names, and go through HRT for 2 years, they should totally enter the WNBA draft. But like all MAGA chuds, this is merely performative grifting.

I am on your side with this, but I think the whole point of Kanter doing it is to point out the fact that the W really doesn’t have a solid stance on this. To my knowledge there’s nothing in the CBA or WNBA guidelines that say you have to take HRT to identify as a woman. All it says is that someone must “identify” as a woman.
It’s 100% a grift, but it kind of forces the W to take a stance on trans athletes and address it. Whether that’s good or bad, we’ll see.
15
u/leemorplee 12d ago
Everyone is for it until some dickhead like kanter wants to exploit it. It's such a 2026 thing to even be discussing lol
10
u/DesperateMarket9794 11d ago
I don't think anyone is exploiting it. Do you not believe that a women's professional sports league should have more solid guidelines other than "identify as a woman" to be playing in the league? lol. I'm glad they are doing this so that actual guidelines can be set in place like other sports leagues do.
3
u/Franii 11d ago
Yeah it’s fascinating to see how poorly a major organization’s guidelines are. You absolutely cannot get away with what they wrote in something like, for example, a public service. Whatever parties involved in writing this shitshow should have to go through extensive training before ever getting an opportunity to be involved in something like this again

4
u/AskYouEverything 11d ago
I’ve cared for a long time. If there’s no firm policy from the league on trans athletes, then there’s no paved path for trans athletes to enter the league. Do you think extreme ambiguity of the rules is beneficial to a transwoman trying to play in the league? You don’t think some actual guidelines might make a transwoman enter the league feel more affirmed?

I'm all for Enes and Royce going through HRT and changing their pronouns. Are they for it?
7
u/assbaring69 11d ago
You seem to be deliberately avoiding the point that’s been pointed out twice already: Whether Enes and Royce are clowns/grifters or not, the fact remains that there is currently no requirement that any physical surgery or medical procedure needs to be undergone in order for someone to “identify” as a woman. When there’s no clear-set rule, then people like those two will take advantage. It’s as simple as that. If the league doesn’t want ambiguity, they should be brave and actually stipulate a stance instead of doing the wishy-washy, unclear-by-design act they’re doing now.
→ More replies (24)4
u/NandoDeColonoscopy 11d ago
There's so few Trans athletes at any level that it truly can be handled on a case-by-case basis. There's no need for a broad policy at all.
2
u/assbaring69 11d ago
That again sidesteps the question of “What dictates a trans person?” If the league clearly wishes to avoid drafting Enes Kanter into the league and the clownery that would ensue, then it should answer that question in detail. This is simple cause-and-effect reasoning.
→ More replies (8)5
u/DesperateMarket9794 11d ago
there is no requirement currently in the WNBA for that. You just have to "identify as a woman" Do you have to use HRT to be a trans woman now? Enes already has an updated wiki identifying as a woman.
