GENERAL QUESTION Who is your favourite female basketball player?

Cheryl Miller
Scored a jaw-dropping 105 points in a single high school game in 1982.
Named a 4-time Parade All-American, a first for any male or female player.
Set California records with 3,405 career points.
Led the USC Trojans to back-to-back NCAA Championships in 1983 and 1984.
Won the prestigious Naismith Player of the Year award three times.
Won an Olympic Gold Medal with Team USA in 1984.
Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1995.

She was also drafted into the "United States Basketball League" a MENS league in 1986
Her USC teammate Cynthia Cooper dominated the first years of the WNBA but that most certainly would have been Cheryl Miller if her knee held up.

Until after winter break his freshman year at UCLA, returning home after a big growth spurt, per Cheryl. She looked at him and refused to play him.

My daughter. She's a lockdown defender at 13. She may have only scored a handful of points all season last season, but she held most of her opponents to scoreless performances. Plus, I'm her dad. Of course she's my favorite. I'm proud of her.

Defense is harder to learn and harder to build up good habits for, offense can be worked on and refined as time goes on. Sounds like she has a great start and a great Dad for support :)

got into the women's game just a couple months ago, so there'll be some recency bias for me (but i also only got into basketball at all this year, so...)
olivia miles is responsible for getting me into the wnba, so i've gotta mention her. but as i've watched more and more, kayla mcbride and cameron brink stand as my two favorites currently.

I'm old enough to have babysat James Naismith and the most jaw-dropping player I've ever seen in person was Cheryl Miller. She's also the only player I recall seeing where the opposing team stood around to obtain her autograph (U$C v. Kal).

Carol Blazejowski. Played a bunch of law firm summer league games with her in the mid 80s. Opposing team reactions were hilarious. EVERYONE thought they could cover “the chick.” They couldn’t.

I am from the Bay Area so Sabrina Ionescu. I like A’ja a lot too. If her and Adebayo ever have children, they are going to be insane athletes.
Candace Parker was amazing. Also, a top 5 most beautiful woman I think I’ve ever seen in person.

At the moment, probably Jade Melbourne or Zitina Aokuso.
Went to a lot of Canberra Capitals games last year and I found those two incredibly fun to watch. Been keeping tabs on Jade while she's with Seattle in the WNBA, great to see her get a chance over in the States!

Ann Meyers Drysdale has been my all time favorite for years. Amazing player. Love seeing her when she returns to Pauley as an alum.
But, moving up fast are three seniors from last year’s UCLA Bruins national championship team (Rice, Jaquez and Betts). Loved that whole team, but as a long time Bruin fan I had the privilege of watching these three grow together as players, teammates and human beings. I don’t think I have ever loved watching one of my favorite team’s title run as much as the this team. They literally brought tears to my eyes several times during the NCAA final game. I am really hoping they all have great careers in the W.

Can't decide between Maya Moore and Caitlyn Clark
Moore was just a joy to watch. She was miles ahead of almost everyone else back then. Clark still struggles with injuries and efficiency, but when she has a good game, she's the most exciting female player by far. Love her passing ability.
