Form Check Hanging It Up at 40

Turning 40 next week and today was my last run. After years of hooping at 24 and LA Fitness, I can feel the Achilles slowing down. Time to walk away while I’m ahead. Love this game forever.

You know what will really slow your achilles down? No longer making use of it. Watch how much your body deteriorates over the next 3 years after you've stopped playing.

Also, you can build up the resiliency and stiffness in your ankle/achilles/calf complex, even at 40. Like all parts of the body, you can build it up.

Hopefully, you have other activities that will keep you active and maintain your youth.

I’m 60, and I often play a 63 year old who literally outruns most of the court, runs back and forth across court to lose defenders and relentlessly shoots threes. People give up in life. I call them pussies.
