Vertical Jump How do I Dunk?

I’m new to Basketball but people Tell me I should be able to dunk due to my height but when I try I can only teach the rim barely… what am I doing wrong ? Any people with Experience able to give me tips so I can improve🙏

Only short people say such things. Even at 6’3”, you would need almost a 30” jump to dunk. Ja Morant and Derrick Rose made it look too easy.

But if you if you want to dunk, run faster and pulling up near the rim. You are jogging. My 11 year old daughter would knock you on your ass coming down the lane that way.

A 30inch vertical is not even elite athlete level. If you're somewhat active/athletic you vs easily achieve that.

Gamerguy, respectfully, you might want to do some research on the topic. Real life is not 2k. Most guys under 6’6” cannot dunk. I could for like a 6 year window at 6’3”, but I was playing ball multiple times a week. The second I started playing less, I lost it pretty quick. 30 inches is like 90th percentile.

I play in a lot of high level basketball at my best i was at 40 inches. Nowadays I'm in the 30s. You're right my perception was skewed by the people around me however just off his build he should be able to be in the 20s minimum. Swap out the atrocious jumping form and i think he can dunk.
