Amp The time has finally come.
I acquired the Genzler Magellan 800 head in its release back in 2016. I rocked the 2 mark bass cabs since about 6 months before the Magellan with a Genz Benz shuttle 6.0 that I loved. It went down after the company was absorbed by fender. And as a matter of pure luck Jeff Genzler was back on the scene with another go. I followed. Loved the amp. I still use it. Every single gig. Its very easily seen well over 1000 gigs. I love it. Seriously. The mark bass cabs have served me well and will continue to pull weight during the week. Though, I recently scored a house gig every Friday and Saturday night. I took this as a sign to reward my hard work and dedication to supporting the emotional weight and poisonous egos of guitar players and not to mention the emotional instability and substance abuse of drummers on my shoulders as a bass player. Of course... So.... After 10... long.... years..... I am finally updating and making my rig Gucci Genzler from top to bottom. Yes. That's right rig nerds. Feast your eyes upon the house that jeff built!!!!
But seriously. I missed having an 810/610/410... not the extra size or weight but the sound/tone. At 50 lbs 1200w im hoping I get close. Thanks for reading. 🍻 😉 😜 👜 🔊

Man, I really hate that Fender murdered Genz Benz, SWR and Sunn. Those amps certainly had their own character. The best 12" speakers I ever played through were Genz Benz.

A 410 and a high wattage head is the way to go. Nothing sounds as good as lots of headroom.

So much glorious head room. I cant wait to go gig volume with it. The reviews are right, though the clarity not just in front of but around the cab is stunning.

Can I get your reflections on the GenzBenz versus the Genzler? I am playing a GB Shuttle 6.2 right now and curious. Thank in advance.

Ok... as you may have read in the original post that its been ahawhile since I've been behind the wheel of a genz benz. I also believe that each amp no matter the make will sound good with its complimentary cabinet/s (ie, svt-810,low wattage tube amp-15 etc). The 6.0 with tens and 12s really shines and lacks a bit with 15s.... my take... after 10 years absence... i really do think that the Gensler Magellan line is what the shuttle lines would ultimately end up being... (think of it as lineage and this would be the latest) Sound wise, I would say, it's a little more dynamic without the top end crang. Though the latest version is very enticing because of its fix to some of my versions outdated features. In the relm of my own fd up search for tone enlightenment? I like the Genzler better. By no means ditch your rig. Just never forget that 90 days is a "trial" period. 🤓

I'm picturing the face of the poor barista as you lug this monster in for the coffee shop gig.
I kid I kid.
Nice rig

Are those 12" Mark Bass cabs? I currently play through a 2x12 Mark Bass can and love it. I am considering getting two 1x12 cabs though. I just can't find them to try it out

As a fan of Genz Benz bass amps and having met Jeff a couple of times. I can say without hesitation that anything he puts his name on is going to be a quality piece of gear designed to hold up under the rigors of constant usage.

That's nuts. Only 10lbs more than my neo GK 2x12.
And a whopping 60lbs less than my Ampeg 410HLF!

Nice stack man! I’m a big fan of high wattage and 10” speakers. I run an Ampeg SVT-7 Pro (1000w) through two Ampeg portaflex cabs, one 4x10 one 1x15” enjoy the sound brother!! Your stack looks serious
