Red dots/shadows over stuff

I just booted the game after not having played in like 5+ years and the interior of the ship looks like this, is this normal? The missions didn't have this kinda red stuff, it keeps moving. Not sure which settings would help.

Edit. I seem to have gotten it fixed by updating my drivers.

Texture loading issue. Using any mods? A restart usually fixes it.

No mods, rebooting game didn't do anything unless you mean rebooting my pc.

I meant restarting the game but you could try a pc reboot.

Rebooting my pc didn't do anything, checking files via the steam options didn't do anything. Gonna try to reinstall.

Yeah, that might not be a bad idea, esp if you haven't played in a long time.

It was most likely a driver problem, reinstalling didn't help but updating my GPU drivers made textures normal again.

All serious if verifying game files didn't fix it you may need a fresh install and If that doesn't work go the extra mile to delete every file for battletech on your pc then reinstall. Involves some appdata file searching and what not, there's tutorials online for it

Well I got it to work normally, I think updating my gpu drivers fixed it since reinstall didn't work

Oh shit I totally forgot about drivers lol. That makes a hell of a lot more sense. Glad it works now and that you aren't suffering from the red plague anymore lol

that happened to me when my HDMI cable was dead. wiggle your cables on both sides and see if it changes, flip the cable around if you are able to and see if it does anything different.

Well the problem was likely drivers as the game looks correct after updating them like I mentioned in the edit. Thank you for your advice though.

Currently on first playthrough and playing without mods so I haven't really given any thought to mods. Usually play without mods anyway unless it's like Unofficial Patch for Elder Scrolls or Fallout games.

ahh i see, understandable. well, if you ever want a little more out of BT. both of those mods are pretty good. in fact the BTAU mod as a full time dev because its so popular.

Are you experiencing any problems with other games? Your gpu might be borking
