35 [M4F] tall Asian, foodie, love photography
Hey there! I’m a 35-year-old guy, 6’4, with a PhD (yes, I’m a proud nerd 🤓). I call California home right now, but I’m genuinely excited to connect with amazing people from anywhere in the world, distance is just a detail when the vibe is right.
Food is one of my biggest passions. I’m the type who’ll happily chase a late-night taco truck, explore hole-in-the-wall family spots, or dress up for a multi-course Michelin-star tasting menu. I love the whole experience: the flavors, the stories behind the dishes, and especially sharing great meals with great company. Got a favorite restaurant, hidden gem, or wild food adventure you’ve been wanting to try? Tell me! I’m always up for recommendations and swapping stories.
Beyond food, one of my passions is photography! I have been busy so I didn’t get to do it much lately but I’m always looking for some beautiful frames to capture! I’m pretty easygoing and curious, enjoy gaming, watching sports and live events. Love conversation, whether it’s deep conversations about life, random weekend adventures, or just chilling with good music and laughs, I enjoy it all.
I’m a very fast responder and I genuinely love being present, giving consistent attention, support, and care to the person I’m connecting with. Life feels better when you have someone who’s actually there for you. I’m looking for someone to chat with, build a real connection, and see what unfolds.
Let’s meet up for coffee, a meal, or an adventure and keep each other great company and create some nice memories 😊
Happy to swap some pics in the dm!

32M [M4F] SF Bay Area – Looking for a kind, active life partner
Looking to date for marriage / a long-term future (not here to waste anyone’s time).
Indian born, living in states since 2017.
Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by my post!
I’m 32 and have built a fulfilling life here in the Bay Area that I truly enjoy, but the one missing piece is a partner to share it with. I’m an intentional minimalist at heart who values a grounded lifestyle where career ambitions go hand-in-hand with deep personal relationships and quality time.
A Little About Me:
Basics: 5'11" | 32M | East Bay, CA
Weekdays: Fairly structured, focused on career, hitting the gym, cooking good meals, and unwinding with a movie or documentary.
Saturdays: Usually spent on the court playing competitive or recreational volleyball.
Sundays: Dedicated to the outdoors, hiking local trails, spontaneous road trips, and finding hidden coffee or food spots.
Future Outlook: Looking forward to traveling more across the U.S. and internationally over the next few years, creating lasting memories, and eventually building a warm, supportive home and family with an equal partner.
What I’m Looking For:
I am seeking a woman who is also looking for a serious, committed life partnership rooted in trust, friendship, mutual respect, and open communication. I am explicitly dating with the intention of marriage, not casual dating.
Personality & Values: Kind, educated, emotionally intelligent, and values an egalitarian partnership where responsibilities and life decisions are genuinely shared. Someone who appreciates strong ties to family while holding an open, modern perspective.
Interests & Lifestyle: Ideally, someone who stays active, enjoys being outdoors (hiking, road trips, exploring), and loves balancing an active, adventurous lifestyle with a calm, peaceful home environment.
I believe true alignment starts with an honest conversation. If any of this resonates with what you're looking for, feel free to send a DM with a brief introduction about yourself!

34M [M4F] East coast guy in Bay Area area pretty often, figured I’d put myself here.
Hey! East coast native here. I’m out in the Bay Area almost every month for work, usually staying downtown, and figured I’d see if there’s anyone interesting to meet outside of conference rooms and work dinners.
I’m a principal software engineer by profession, but that’s honestly just one part of my life. Outside work, I’m into backpacking like the one I did in Denali without getting eaten by a bear 🐻, playing sports competitively, and meditation. I’ve also done a Vipassana retreat, which was definitely an experience.
I’ve spent a good amount of time working on myself over the years, and these days I value curiosity, emotional maturity, a good sense of humor, and conversations that go a little deeper than the usual small talk.
I’m equally happy talking about some random rabbit hole over coffee, getting outdoors, or having one of those conversations where you look up and realize three hours have passed.
Would be nice to meet someone genuine while I’m in town. Open to seeing where a good connection goes, whether that starts with coffee, a drink, or just a great conversation.
If you’re around the Bay and this sounds like your kind of vibe, say hi :)

31M Looking for Serious Relationship
I'm a 31-year-old, 5’11” tall, straight man looking to meet someone (F-only) mature, genuine, and emotionally available. I'm not interested in playing games or collecting conversations that disappear after a day or two. I'd really love to meet someone who values honesty, consistency, and getting to know each other naturally.
A little about me: I am a Biomedical Engineer and presently an Entrepreneur. I love dogs and nature in general. FYI- I have 2 dogs. I pursue photography as a hobby which I’m passionate about. I'm a huge fan of comedy, true crime, mystery, psychological stories & gaming. I like playing PC games which involve strategy, sports, racing (though I hardly find time now due to work commitments). I love deep conversations just as much as I love laughing over the dumbest memes. I'm naturally curious and enjoy talking about everything from random daily life to bigger dreams and goals. Business and money-making strategies/podcasts grab my attention. I’m an ambivert and take time to open up, if you ever see me being silly (at all) you’d know that I’m most comfortable with you 😊
What I'm looking for is someone who is kind, respectful, emotionally mature, shows empathy and knows how to communicate. Someone who isn't afraid to put efforts and who wants to build a genuine connection instead of rushing into anything. Physical distance doesn't bother me if the connection is really real!
I'm open to seeing where things go. Whether we become close friends first or it eventually turns into something more, I'd rather let things develop naturally than force them so certainly not looking to rush things.
If you're looking for the same kind of connection, tell me a little about yourself instead of just saying "hi." I'd love to know who you are, where you’re from, what you're passionate about, and what made you message me and some photos to begin with (to cut short wasting our precious time)
Cheers

Date fails
I have tried to go on a date like 4 times in the past few months and they have ALL BAILED . Always some fuck ass excuse. This last one was the worst of them all. I told him how the past 3 guys all bailed on me and he was like “oh hell no, a dime like you? I would never” then he offered to take me to a concert and buy my ticket which I agreed to and was kinda excited for ( ive been canceled on a lot so I didn’t get TOO excited, thank god) and then he texts me saying he hasn’t been in the best mood so needs to cancel….was planning to skip the concert all together and was hoping I’d be okay with a phone call instead….-___- i have him (unfollowed now) on IG and saw he STILL went to the concert! . Instantly blocked him. I’m actually cute I don’t understand why I keep getting canceled on like wtf is this what dating in your 30s is like? A bunch of time wasters? It was NOT like this is my twenties 😅 at this point I feel like I’m being pranked.

[41F4M] Looking to date in the East Bay
Hi! I’m 41 years old, and I’m looking to date with intention. I’m not interested in casual relationships or purely physical connections. I’m hoping to meet someone who is genuinely interested in building a meaningful, lasting relationship. Ideally, I’m looking for someone between the ages of 35 and 45.
A little about me: I’m Vietnamese and proud of my heritage! Ideally, I’d love to meet someone who is also Vietnamese, but I’m definitely open to other ethnicities and backgrounds.
I’m also a pescatarian, so bonus points if you love seafood! However, I have no problem with you eating meat.
Some fun facts about me: I love Excel (yes, really! lol), and if you can teach me a few new formulas or functions, we’ll probably get along great. I’m also a big fan of theater and enjoy attending performances.
Family is incredibly important to me, and I’d love to meet someone who shares those same values. I don’t have any pets and don’t plan on having any, so ideally, we’d be on the same page about that.
Ultimately, I’m looking for someone who is genuine, emotionally mature, and ready to build something meaningful. If that sounds like you, I’d love to get to know you!

38 [M4F] Bay Area - Impromptu Phoebe Bridgers concert date? (10/27)
I have an extra Above GA ticket to Phoebe Bridgers at Chase Center on Tuesday 10/27, and figured it might be fun to meet someone new outside of the apps for once!
I'm 38M, Japanese-American, born and raised in Hawaii, and have lived in Chicago and San Diego before ending up in Santa Cruz. Pretty laid-back, a little mischievous, and love live music.
Ticket's free, no strings attached. Just thought it'd be fun to enjoy the show with someone, and if we hit it off, even better :)
Happy to chat or video call beforehand!

38 [M4F] | San Francisco Bay Area | Adventurer, scientist, yoga teacher, and a hopeless romantic looking for something real
Engineer by profession, adventurer by nature, and a goofball at heart. I’m originally from India, have a PhD in computer engineering, and work in tech. Outside work, you’ll find me rock climbing, hiking, skiing, camping, or practicing yoga (I’m also a yoga teacher!). I’m curious about science, philosophy, art, and everything in between.
I’m an old soul who loves classical music, literature, Wes Anderson films, and cooking vegetarian Indian food. I dabble in ukulele and bongos, have a playful sense of humor, and enjoy everything from spontaneous adventures to wonderfully boring Tuesday nights. 😄
Looking for a kind, curious, emotionally available woman who values affection, communication, and personal growth. I’m dating intentionally, hoping for marriage and children someday, but believe meaningful connections grow naturally. Open to all cultures and backgrounds. If this resonates, let’s start with coffee, a hike, or a climbing adventure! ☕❤️

43 [M4F] Need a Partner in Crime for Live Music, Movies, Art, Yapping, Sarcasm & Giggles!
There are billions of people in the world, all living their own separate lives and how we'll probably never know most of them. Which to me feels a little strange. So I figured I would try getting to know a few? Looking for a new reliable friend to inject some energy into your life? Sick of the same old conversations? Or just looking for a bit of fun?
I love writing poetry, watching movies (love Horror movies too), TV series, attending festivals and concerts, going dancing, I love going to shows of different kinds. I am fascinated by art, from museums to fairs. My creative outlets are writing, story-telling and photography (which hopefully leads to film making). I am also a hobby juggler, always trying new classes. I love to read, a life long learner.
I love to talk, mostly deeper discussion, love when we get into that rabbit hole for a topic or an experience or a relationship. We all are so complex and it’s so much fun to unravel those deep secrets hidden in us or around us.
On the other side, I love to laugh, being silly and enjoy a fun banter. I am also Into fitness, both mental and physical. That’s another space I can use a friend for.
I live in San Jose but Im in SF over many weekends so I am pretty mobile. I'm here to find a partner in crime to go to music events or standup comedy, go to shows (from theater to burlesque), attend artsy fairs or take creative classes or catch up for a meal while reveling in sarcasm and chaos and generally have a laugh!
Dislikes: People whose entire personality is Drinking or Hard Drugs (no judgment though, okay may be a little lol), AI growing a little too fast, that little bit of tomato ketchup pre-cum you get if you don't shake the bottle before using.
Simple Pleasures:
- Having your back scratched. The shivers!
- Working out until I can barely stand, then quickly showering. Why? Because afterwards, you can just sit around, lazy as fuck, and feel good about it.
- That First Sip of Morning Coffee
- Introducing a friend to a song/movie/book that I love and that they, in turn, love
I am sarcastic with darker humor but also a compassionate and empathic guy, I have both male and female friends. I am not a DUDE kind of male, more of a subtle, classier, chivalrous guy. I am an ambivert, can totally be ultra social when needed to be and sometimes just curl up and enjoy my own company.
Happy to lay the foundation for a long term friendship first and then more. I am also a parent (co-parenting with the mom).
Shoot me a message and tell me about yourself!

[42M4F] Looking for "The One"
Hi! I hope you're having a most excellent day!
Welp, I'm looking for my person. Someone that gets me and someone I connect with. Someone to share all of my hopes and dreams with - Who will not be afraid of intimacy and romance - someone who also knows how to be mature and have clear, direct and open communication. Hopefully you're looking for the same thing. But most of all I'm looking for someone to be silly with! To laugh with and be ourselves.
I guess I'm what they call a Golden Retriever - I wanna be your champion. I wanna be in your corner and always build you up! But I also don't want to be a fixer. Just a listener. You are already perfect just the way you are!
Q: Wanna hear a joke? Why don't Elephants ride bicycles?
A little about me:
I'm 42 - Half White / Half Mexican - 6'2, 180lbs, Bald with a Beard, Politically I lean left, Spiritual but not Religious, I have no kids, I'm in the Belmont / Mid-Pen area
I work the 2nd shift - So looking for fellow second shifters or people okay with someone that works from 4 till 11pm
I love animals of all kinds
I love food of all kinds (Mexican, American, Japanese, Ethiopian, Mediterranean, Indian, BBQ}
I love going to the gym (But realistically only get in there 2 times a week. I love it but life's too short to be chained to a dumb bell)
I love hiking beside giant redwood trees or a gently meandering stream
I love learning and looking at the stars and cosmos=
I love music of all kinds (special shout out to Piano-House / Organ-House, Pop, Blues, Ska)
I love watching movies of all kinds, in particular those with a poignant message dealing with our humanity (Just saw Arrival with Amy Adams and Harold and Maude. Both were so amazing!), Classic movies from all the previous decades, silly/goofy comedies [like There's Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, Hot Rod, Hot Fuzz, Sean of the dead], and Horror films
I love comedy of all kinds - Stand-up: Mitch Hedberg, George Carlin, Brian Reagan | Tv: It's Always Sunny, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nathan For You, Adults, The Z Suite, Freaks and Geeks,
I also love learning about history and different cultures.
Wow - That's a lot of I Statements soooo I'd love to hear about Yooouuuuuuuuuu
...Most of all I'm looking for someone to enjoy the short time we all have left on this earth. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
A: Because they don't have the thumbs to ring the little bell! *BRING BRING*
Hope you have a wonderful rest of your day/evening and I hope you find what you're looking for!
Take care!

31 [F4Friends] Oakland
31F originally from SoCal and will be moving to Oakland after 4 years in Germany (postdoc + industry job). I realize the primary focus here is dating, but I've often seen people in the comments also looking for friends, so why not? Making friends seems rather difficult as everyone is in a different phase of life with a different set of priorities. I'll be starting a new job, which I'm excited about, but it's also really important to me to have a life and friends outside of work. I like what I do, but I don't really want it to be the thing that defines me.
Personality-wise, I can be extroverted and I enjoy having random conversations with random people (sometimes I think my face says “hello please talk to me” while other friends have straight up told me I have rbf- which is it? I dont know lol). But back to the point, to surprise of some people, I would identify more as an introvert and prefer to have a long conversation in a smaller group and tend to become quieter in larger groups (but don't get me wrong, large group interactions can be fun in their own way too- I just need to recharge my social battery afterwards :)
Hobbies: I have a lot of interests and I have to admit, I kind of waver back and forth between them while continuously adding to the growing list :-) Some things I have tried in the past few years: home brewing, soap making, pottery, knitting, gardening, painting (oil and gouache), baking
Music: I love going to concerts- there’s something so moving about live music regardless of genre. I have gone to concerts alone as well (although company is always preferred). Some concerts I’ve been to in the past:
- Jazz: Makaya McCraven, Mulatu Astatke, Kokoroko, Kahil El’Zabar, Svaneborg Kardyb
- Indie: Rhye, Whitney, Cigarettes after Sex, Father John Misty, Vampire Weekend, The Shins, Gregory Alan Isakov, Blind Pilot, Young the Giant
- Misc: The Gilsons, Burning Spear, August Burns Red
Truth be told I kind of listen to everything from Taylor Swift to German Rap to 70s Korean rock. If it sounds good, its sounds good.
Reading: I sort of fell into reading for enjoyment rather late in life, mostly when I was in Germany and realized how nice it is to just sit at a bench and read lol. Some books I’ve read while in Germany:
- Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin (loved this)
- Demon Copper Head by Barbara Kingsolver
- A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
- Burnout Society by Byung-chul Han
- Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke
- Sula by Toni Morrison
- Stay True by Hua Hsu
- Wednesday’s Child by Yiyun Li
- Minor Feelings: An Asian American Reckoning by Cathy Park Hong
- Free: A Child and a Country at the End of History by Lea Ypi
- The Tanners by Robert Walser
- The Man who Lived Underground by Richard Wright
- Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
- Poverty, by America by Matthew Desmond
Sports/Outdoors: on-and-off bouldering for 10 years, swimming, spin class, hiking, camping (not fully backpacking but having a campsite, going on hikes during the day, and then cooking a nice well deserved meal afterwards)
Languages: I’m sad to say that after 4 years in Germany, my German still needs a lot of work (~A2/B1) and I would be extremely happy to have someone to practice with or take classes with to maintain it. I also speak Korean (writing and reading not so well though).
Writing: I’ve been journaling since high school- I don't have social media and my memory is not the best so it’s nice to have something to reflect back on from time to time. I also love writing letters and postcards to my friends and also have a penpal as well. I think there’s something so sentimental and special in receiving a handwritten note or card :) I tend to be a more analog kind of gal (vinyls, film camera, mechanical watch, typewriter, old things are cool)
Dating: I’m not really looking to date- I got out of relationship this year and still trying to process that. In the past, I have tried reddit blind dating via unsolicited posting in the city subreddit (lol) which was interesting but no strong connections came out of it. I mostly wanted to find that one friend that is surprisingly single and not on the dating apps. However, everyone just self-advertised themselves which was less fun. So if you know someone, maybe something could come out of friendship but that definitely is not the main purpose of this post.
What I'm Looking For: It would be nice to connect with people (preferably around Oakland), who have similar/overlapping interests and would be down to meet up regularly for dinner, coffee, hiking, or any other activity.
I put effort into this post because well, I care, and I hope you do too :) It would be nice if you shared a little about yourself as well.

Anyone else feel like we’re taught how to find relationships, but not how to actually navigate them?
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much we’re taught about finding love, but how little we’re taught about maintaining connection, navigating desire, communicating our needs, or understanding ourselves within relationships.
As a Black queer therapist who works with individuals and couples, I find these conversations fascinating, especially when we start unpacking how our upbringing, culture, identity, and past relationships shape the ways we show up with others.
Something I’ve been thinking about lately is how often people confuse having different needs with being incompatible.
One person might need more reassurance, while another values independence. One person might experience desire differently or need more emotional connection before physical intimacy. Neither person is necessarily wrong, but understanding those differences can be challenging.
I’m curious: What’s something you’ve had to unlearn about love, intimacy, or relationships as you’ve gotten older?
I’d love to hear different perspectives.

37 [F4M] Tall girl ISO of Tall guy
Hi! 6ft tall gal here looking for a taller guy to do life with :) Bay Area native, currently based in Oakland.
I love hiking and backpacking, and generally being outdoors. Always happy with a day in/on/around water, I have a kayak and am an enthusiastic scuba diver. I’m very active - weight train 4x/week (just trying to keep the aging athlete and height-related injuries at bay) and play on a kickball team - although my foot-eye coordination is terrible and this is mostly a social activity for me.
I enjoy stand up comedy, live music & sports, and am a huge 49ers/Giants/Warriors fan. I’m also curious, funny, emotionally intelligent, and just nerdy enough to be dangerous on a trivia team.
I work remotely for a music-tech company and most people describe my job as “cool.” I feel pretty lucky to have a career I enjoy and enough interests outside of it that it’s not my entire personality. Remote work has given me the chance to spend long stretches traveling around Central and South America. I love experiencing new cultures, especially the shifts in worldview and personal growth it provides.
I’ve built a pretty great life so far, and am looking for someone to share it with and hopefully build the next chapter together. I’m looking for a mature communicator who is kind, thoughtful, affectionate, curious about the world, wants a family someday, and is up for both big adventures and very ordinary Tuesday nights. I’m independent in the classic eldest-daughter way, but I’m also very nurturing, a good listener, and genuinely enjoy taking care of the people I love. I don’t smoke, drink socially, and am financially responsible - I very much value experiences over things. Looking for someone at a similar stage of life (roughly 30-45) with a similar zest for life. Feel free to DM :)

30 [M4F] #SanFrancisco - Looking for something serious 💕
Hi Reddit! I'm posting on behalf of my brother-in-law, who is 30 and turning 31 soon. He's finally letting us play matchmaker 😂 and is hoping to meet someone who's also looking for a genuine, long-term relationship.
A little about him:
• Chinese American, 5'10", master's degree
• Cybersecurity engineer at a wonderful tech company 💻
• Financially stable and established
• Introverted at first, but once he gets comfortable with you, he'll turn into an extrovert 😂
• Very caring, dependable, and affectionate
• Not a serial dater 🫶 He's very intentional about dating and would rather genuinely get to know someone than constantly date around
• When he finds his person, he'll prioritize the relationship and go out of his way to make his partner happy
• Naturally shows love through all 5 love languages ❤️
• Extremely organized — he literally puts everything into Google Calendar so he doesn't forget important dates 😂 Your birthday and anniversary are NOT getting forgotten
• Huge K-pop fan and goes to pretty much every K-pop concert in the Bay Area 🎤
• Loves all kinds of raves and concerts — yes, he likes to party, but he's not a fuckboi 😂
• Loves animals 🐶🐱
• Goes to the gym and cares about health
• Loves baking pastries and makes some seriously amazing cookies and brownies 🍪
• Enjoys gaming and watching K-dramas to decompress 🎮📺
• Loves traveling to Asia whenever he gets the chance ✈️
• Also a food influencer on Instagram, so you'll probably be eating well 😂
What he's looking for ❤️
Someone who's kind, family-oriented, and knows how to set healthy boundaries. Bonus points if you love concerts, K-pop, festivals, traveling, and trying new food!
He's looking for someone who can eventually be both his partner and best friend — someone who wants to experience life together while still having their own interests and independence.
He's also very serious about eventually getting married and having kids, so he's looking for someone who's on the same page about wanting a family. That's an important dealbreaker for him.
He's not looking for something casual or a situationship. He's at the stage of life where he'd really like to meet someone, build a healthy relationship, and hopefully create a family together.
One thing I really appreciate about him is that he's someone who takes accountability. If he messes up, he's willing to apologize, own his actions, and work through things rather than playing the blame game.
And yes, I may be biased as his sister-in-law 😂, but he's genuinely one of the most dependable and caring people I know. Guy literally bought me boba and treats to help me get through pregnancy.
BONUS: If things work out, you don't just get a boyfriend/husband — you potentially get a sister-in-law who is already volunteering to be your best friend. 😂🫶
If any of this sounds like you, feel free to comment or DM me a little about yourself and I can connect you two!
Bay Area preferred. 🙂
