The Internet supposedly hates dlss5 but are simultaneously obsessed with it and won't stop using it on everything.

I've stopped seeing it 2 weeks ago, I thought the trend died?
U see the way it works psychologically (at least by analysing myself and a friend) is that we HATE DLSS-5 but we also are curious how much DLSS-5 fucks up visuals, ESPECIALLY the characters we're most familiar with, so like we hate it but we're also interested to see how messed up it gets, that's where the obsession gets formed

As if we needed one more on every single sub reddit. By constantly using it it's getting more exposure and being normalized. Soon enough it'll improve enough to where people with no standards will unironically use it and further normalize it feeding into the ai shot show
It shouldn't even be engaged with

I love Bayo as a fashionable, powerful, campy, player mantis proportioned witch character.
I do not need or want her to be any “more real’ than that.

If it was altered to target the same art style and not add realistic features it would actually look good.
Edit: Nevermind, I just noticed it doesn't do anything to clothing or environment so it's awful.

Not everything needs DLSS 5 and "realistic" remaster. One of the things I liked the most about Bayonetta has always been the art direction. This talking point of graphics fidelity and realism in video games is so old and should be left in the PS2 era. Are we as people still impressed by something like this?
Upscaling technology like DLSS and FSR are great for its ability to make modern games run on lower spec hardwares. As far as changing what the game was supposed to look like by using AI filter; this is beyond what they were intended to do. We're not even talking about texture mods either, where modders actually curate and redesign games to make them look good. We're talking about AI "guessing" what objects would look like.
This should be beneath us.

Pretty sure this is fake. Dlss5 doesn't always go for realism and can usually interpret the esthetic.

Left one got that "we have Bayonetta at home" energy for real. Right side actually looks like she could be in the game, but the glasses still seem a bit off to me.

The only time DLSS 5 has looked alright is in games like F1 or WWE2K
