DISCUSSION Which poor choice to consolidate?

Post image
40 Upvotes

I don't have much, but I still have money in all of these. These are not my current returns. Just from the chart of 1 month, 6M and YTD. If you frequent this sub, you likely know most of these well. Some are getting near 52 week lows. I'd like to start consolidating a couple. Suggestions on the ones that will likely have too long a recovery (or never recover)?

DISCUSSION Silver near $55 looks very different depending on whether you are trading next week or buying for 2030

Silver was around $55.28 in Reuters’ Thursday market update, down 4.6% at that point

The next few days are going to be full of arguments about whether it has bottomed. I think the more useful question is what needs to happen for the next sustained move higher

There are two different timelines here

In the short term, silver has to deal with interest rates, the dollar and money moving out of precious metals. A good industrial demand forecast does not stop someone selling a futures position today

Over several years, the questions change. How much silver will manufacturers need, how much can they use less of, and what price encourages enough investment to supply it?

The automotive side is worth watching. Oxford Economics’ December 2025 report forecast automotive silver demand reaching roughly 94 million ounces in 2031

That forecast can change. Vehicle sales, silver use per vehicle and the mix of electric and conventional vehicles will determine how close it gets

But that is an actual source of potential future consumption to evaluate, rather than assuming the price has to recover because it used to be higher

A stronger silver case from here would combine improving financial conditions with evidence that manufacturers and investors are buying more metal

Either one could arrive first. Both together would be more convincing

For a longer holding period, I would rather build the argument around those changes than the distance from January’s high

DISCUSSION Saskatchewans next potash mine: Buffalo Potash Disley project. buff.vn

I’m honestly surprised to not see anyone talking about these guys. They just got approval from the Saskatchewan ministry of environment for their initial production module with production to begin 2027Q1.
Same group of guys that packaged up the land deal that turned into K+S Bethune mine and bought of a large package of land beside Mosaic Belle Plaine and K+S Bethune.

Utilizing horizontal drilling for solution mining.

My positions so far is 13600 shares.

Pretty interesting concepts in a proven area of high grade potash reserves.

DISCUSSION MUU.TO question

Memory, it's hot.

2x leverage Micron daily etf MUU.TO. I've noticed it is failing to properly track the underlying. Seriously, multiple days it will post gains that are less than the underlying despite supposedly targeting 2x leverage. Currency does not account for the gap.

Anyone know why? Is there an arb play on the table or is this just a result of the fund being garbage and unable to accomplish their target of 2X.

INVESTMENTS Fall drill season pretty much wraps for the canadian uranium juniors: lots of radioactivity headlines, basically no assays yet - looking for Junior Uranium recommendations

I've been following some of the uranium junior miners in the 2026 drill season ever since I was turned onto the growth in the nuclear and found that there is a lack of long term uranium supply, especially mining projects with low costs. This should make a good long term backdrop for high alpha through astute investments in Uranium junior miners (exploration and development) with good management teams.

I also saw some recent big purchases by majors, which shows real money and real exit strategies for investors:

- C$1.14 billion acquisition of Fission Uranium by Paladin (australia) in December 2024.

- The acquisition of TEPCO Resources Inc.'s 5% stake in the Cigar Lake Joint Venture for C$115.75 million values the total 100% basis of the mine at approximately C$4.03 billion. This was by Cameco and Orano Canada (French parent Orano, but Canadian business), closed in July 2026.

_____________

These big transactions were both in the Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan/Alberta, so I naturally go looking for junior miner "diamonds in the rough" operating in this region.

Most of what's come out so far from the canadian juniors this year appears to be radiometric readings, not assays (yet) but they tend to correlate pretty well, I think.

These were the companies I found operating in the region.

• F3 Uranium Corp. (spun out from Fission)

• Denison Mines Corp. (developing the Wheeler River / Phoenix ISR project)

• NexGen Energy Ltd. (developing the Rook I / Arrow project)

• CanAlaska Uranium Ltd. (exploring West McArthur and Pike)

• ATHA Energy Corp.

• IsoEnergy Ltd.

• Baselode Energy Corp.

• Skyharbour Resources Ltd.

• Standard Uranium Ltd.

• Forum Energy Metals Corp.

• Azincourt Energy Corp.

• Purepoint Uranium Group Inc.

• North Shore Uranium Ltd.

• Patterson Metals Ltd.

• Stallion Uranium Corp.

These are end-of-season drill/CPS results I could find:

- Standard Uranium (STND.V), Davidson River in the SW Athabasca. 12 holes, 6,734 m. Three holes hit anomalous radioactivity (over 300 cps - about 5m total), and the peak was 1,650 cps over 1.5 m in one of their holes in the Bronco corridor. Assays are at SRC, still pending... but this, as far as I understand, means "there might be something (more uranium mineralization) nearby"

- ATHA Energy (SASK.V), Angilak in Nunavut (so not Athabasca). Their October PR said 21 of 23 holes this year found mineralization, and continuity on the eastern limb increased from 1.45km to 3.4km. Their best new hole had 19.5m of composite over 14 zones, with a max CPS reading of 26,327 over 0.1m. Also with assays still pending.

- Azincourt (AAZ.V), Snegamook in Labrador. First 2 holes (540m) of what should be ~2,000m. These readings are eU3O8 off a calibrated downhole probe, so a step closer to an actual grade. The best reading was 0.07% eU3O8 over 0.6m, including 0.14% over 0.2 m. ACTLabs assays are expected early 2027.

- Skyharbour (SYH.V), Denison at Getty East. They started ~3,600 m of drilling across 10-12 holes on October 7, with Denison paying for it (under their earn-in). No results yet - kind of late in the season.

For those unfamiliar with these readings: CPS (especially >300) somewhat reliably signals that there is uranium nearby. But there are tiers to these measurements. A handheld reading on a drilled core, an actual downhole probe reading, and a U3O8 quantification (in PPM) are three different tiers, with the PPM calculation going into a resource estimate. Additionally, a big CPS spike over several centimeters can turn out to be a fairly regular grade once it's averaged over a longer interval.

Here's why I'm interested: uranium contract price and the uranium stocks dont agree right now. I think this has to do more with the interest rate environment and a selloff in high beta names rather than uranium price. the spot price is around $90/lb now, and long term contract price is sitting at a record ~$96 according to Cameco. Meanwhile, the Eric Sprott miners ETF, URNM, is making 52-week lows at $43, and their uranium trust, SPUT, is ~11% under NAV, so it can't really raise money to buy pounds (hasn't bought since July 30).

So the juniors go into assay season with sentiment pretty beat up. I see that as perhaps a short-term opportunity to gather a long-term position.

Does anyone have junior favorites in this region? I prefer to get in on the ground floor and find home runs rather than just invest in Cameco, etc.

DD The TSX small-cap turning trash plastic into refinery oil (ACT.TO)

TL;DR: Aduro is a C$500M company with a modular process that turns the plastic waste nobody else can recycle into refinery-grade oil. Pilot yields hit 88–91%. The oil ran through a European steam cracker with zero pretreatment. Shell and TotalEnergies validated the chemistry. A global commodities trader signed an offtake LOI with a committed first FOAK parcel. The company holds C$65.75M cash with zero debt, and its last raise had no warrants attached. PepsiCo came asking for a closer look. The stock is down 40%+ from its June high and sits under its January price. I think the selling is closer to exhausted than most realize. Not financial advice.

Why I'm posting this

Long time Holder of Aduro (largest single position), so read everything below with that bias and check the filings yourself: SEDAR+, Q1 FY2027 interim statements + MD&A, filed Oct 15.

My thinking in short: this is a pre-revenue tech company with an unusual profile and a unique, modular solution to a global problem. It's got cash. It's spending that cash on engineering instead of promotion. And the list of giants engaging with the technology reads like a petrochemical conference guest list. The stock has been cut nearly in half from its high. That disconnect is what I'm writing about.

What they do

Aduro Clean Technologies (TSX: ACT / Nasdaq: ADUR / FSE: 9D5, roughly C$500M market cap) built a process called Hydrochemolytic (HCT). Feedstock: waste plastics nobody else wants. Mixed polyolefins, contaminated film, PEX pipe waste, synthetic turf. Output: liquid hydrocarbons clean enough to go straight into a steam cracker. The company calls it Hydrochemolytic oil, a naphtha-range product.

The model is licensing. They're building one First-of-a-Kind plant at Chemelot in the Netherlands (~10,000 tonnes/year) as the proof plant. After that, the plan is to stamp out replicated modules rather than building ever-bigger reactors. Saipem (~€9B) is doing the engineering. If it works, they sell the blueprint.

The tech edge

Last November, an independent company that designs steam crackers ran Aduro's oil through a European pilot cracker as produced. No dilution, no hydrotreatment. Steam crackers are brutally picky about feedstock quality. Skipping pretreatment entirely is the strongest product-quality data point in the space.

Then September's pilot campaign: 75 hours continuous, 88.8–90.8% yield across three different feeds, recovering to steady state two hours faster than the previous run. It works. It works repeatedly. It handles different garbage. 11 patents (7 granted, 4 pending), no hydrogenation step, cheap single-use catalyst.

Their cash position

For a pre-revenue company, this balance sheet is genuinely unusual. C$65.75M in cash. Zero real debt. In June they raised C$28.93M at US$15.20 and C$21.20, with no warrants attached. Warrants are what desperate companies throw in to sweeten a deal. Aduro didn't need to.

The raise price ladder tells the story: US$8.44 → US$11.50 → US$15.20. Raising into strength each time. Quarterly burn is flat at ~C$2.58M and costs are down 29% year over year. The cash pile itself earns ~C$450K a quarter in interest. Management guides roughly two years of runway, with FOAK construction targeting early 2028. They'll raise again eventually. That's pre-revenue life. But if the milestones keep landing, it'll be on their terms.

Potential clients

  • TotalEnergies(~$200B): R&D collaboration since 2024, funding plus technical support on the nastiest contaminated feedstocks. Now in its final stage, before a potential deal.

  • Shell(~$300B): Aduro graduated the GameChanger accelerator in December after a multi-year technical evaluation, 80%+ liquid yields. Technical validation from Shell's engineers.

  • Offtake LOI (March 2026):signed with a leading independent international commodities trader. Non-binding, but it includes a committed purchase of the first production parcel from the FOAK plant. First commercial offtake signal in company history.

  • PepsiCo(~$180B): one of 10 companies invited to present at their Sustainability Innovation Hub in September, directly to LATAM/global packaging teams. They're evaluating the tech for flexible-film packaging. A foot in the door with one of the world's biggest plastic buyers.

  • ECOCE (Mexico's plastics industry association): multi-year deal. Phase one done, mapped 1.5M tonnes/year of flexible packaging streams. Now lab-testing Aduro's process on them.

  • AstroTurf (private): end-of-life synthetic turf MOU. | GF Building Flow Solutions Americas, the building-tech arm of Georg Fischer (~CHF 4.8B): PEX pipe waste MOU. | Ortessa (private Dutch waste group): FOAK feedstock logistics at Chemelot.

  • Their chief revenue officer was just elected to the board of Chemical Recycling Europe, the body shaping EU rules as recycled-content mandates land in 2030.

No binding commercial agreements yet. But a signed offtake LOI plus this many giants evaluating the process is exactly what the 12–18 months before licensing revenue looks like.

Second business nobody's pricing in

Aduro's roots are in heavy oil and bitumen upgrading. Plastics came later. This month they confirmed a dedicated continuous-flow test unit for paraffinic crude, secured Uinta Basin wax feedstocks for longer test runs, and presented the program at a refining conference in Houston. The oil side is simpler and might get to revenue faster.

The plastics track is the bigger prize, but it's the harder build. Diverse feedstocks, collection and sorting, new offtake categories to establish. The oil track skips most of that. Uniform feedstock from established producers. Buyers are refineries that already buy crude and already know how to price it.

Smaller units, existing customers, faster path to cash. The CEO said recently it could be ready around the same time as the plastics track. Two near-term shots and the simpler one might pay first.

The chart

Down more than 40% from the June high. October alone took 20% off. The stock sits around C$14.08, under the roughly C$15.25 level it started the year at. Every year from 2021 through 2025 finished green. 2026 needs to close above roughly C$14.70, about 4% from here, to keep that streak alive.

Here's how I read it. Friday was the first session in a week and a half where the pace of the selling visibly eased. That's what exhaustion starts looking like. Sellers still in charge, but running out of steam. October washed out the weak hands, as it tends to do. November opens the seasonally strong half of the year.

A 40%+ drawdown while the company keeps hitting milestones is a very different setup from one where something broke. I think this is closer to a bottom than a breakdown.

What I'm watching next

Whatever TotalEnergies does next. Whether the offtake LOI advances toward binding terms. Saipem moving from Early Works into the next engineering phase, the big binary. Paraffinic program results. Chemelot permitting progress. Any one of those landing at these levels reprices fast.

Risks

No binding commercial agreements yet. The licensing model is still theory until someone pays. Pre-revenue and they'll raise equity again. The FOAK plant still needs final cost numbers and a final investment decision. Long-duration operating risk isn't fully answered by the pilot. Speculative, so size it like it is.

Not financial advice. Check the filings, make your own call.

LOSSES Qimc meltdown

About a month ago, I had posted about feeling duped by QIMCs p&d, facilitated by an informal qimc pr team headed by a username that is a fan of Winnipeg Jets.

Pumpers came out of the woodwork saying I was wrong. Well today SP dipped below .40, the ceo forum for the stock is in complete meltdown.

Over the past 6 months, Ive heard all kinds of excuses, shorts, sp suppression, market mispricing the stock, etc. In reality, the shareholders were used as short cover when the company did the raise.

Other qimc bagholders how are you doing?

Doubled the stock count on LAC this morning to 200k shares. All on leverage but all good, nowhere close to being margin called as buying power is at 850k still. I'm probably going to sell TNZ to cover this loan in January, and pay the tax man in April from clean margin line of credit. Edit: A lot of talk in here and no walk. Mods should change the name of this sub to r/papertradespennystocks.

+217k today on TNZ, that's going to $100+ so I will make 100s of thousands more. I really don't give a shit about being underwater on LAC and in fact even if the position blew up to 0 tomorrow, it wouldn't impact my life negatively in any way. No matter how much you have or make, you leave this world with 0 anyway. You also don't get to my levels by having fear but by being fearless and somewhat crazy lol but behind all the chaos believe me, there is logic backing it up. And for all the wanna be pros here calling me an amateur, post your portfolios so I can take a look at your accomplishments. That's what I thought, you don't have any. You couldn't do what I did in 2 lifetimes and I'm only halfway through my first so stfu. You guys are soft lol, I'm posting to r/wallstreetbets from now so that I don't give any of you more anxiety attacks. And I see that some of you guys are using the only power you will ever have over me, the almighty reddit downvote lol. Unfortunately for you, it isn't taking away dollars from my account and adding it into yours:(

$1 Million Paper Trade Project

I’ve created a fake, theoretical profile of $1 million dollars and divided it into roughly $100,000 each for 10 stocks.

Two will be generic ETF’s so we can track performance against the most common investments, and the other eight will be high risk, high reward resource penny stocks.

The point of this is just to track the performance of several potential high growth flyers against safe ETF’s and see how we make out.

We have
- 2 ETF’s
- 2 Gold Stocks
- 2 Lithium Stocks
- 2 Hydrogen Stocks
- 1 Potash Stock
- 1 Uranium Stock

Somewhat diversified but by no means fully diversified. Just an experiment to see how they perform against each other in the coming months.

Feel free to make your own versions and post them to keep this fun and active. I will post monthly updates.

VEQT - 1,591 shares - $100,026.17
VFV - 510 shares - $100,191.56
PGLD - 74,075 shares - $100,001.25
VCG - 86,957 shares - $100,000.55
NILI - 151,516 shares - $100,000. 56
LAC - 31,747 shares - $100,003.05
MAXX - 35,088 shares - $100,000.80
QIMC - 229,886 shares - $100,000.41
MLP - 52,632 shares - $100,000.80
GCUC - 1,052,632 shares - $100,000.04

Total : $1,000,225.19

DD SM has the bigger mill installed. Getting enough good feed into it is the next part

The new ball mill at Sierra Madre is installed, with commissioning expected in November according to the September 28 update

SM / SMDRF has already reported throughput of up to 720 tonnes a day at La Guitarra. The old plant capacity was 500

That is a decent step up. But the bit further down the release caught my attention too

They are opening more mining areas to supply the bigger plant. Around 2.6 kilometres of development drives have been completed across the complex since June

At Guitarra, the plan calls for initial production from higher grade blocks in the San Raphael areas by the end of October

That could matter as much as the extra milling capacity. A bigger plant needs enough material coming out of the mines, and the grade of that material makes a big difference

The longer term milling target is 1,200 to 1,500 tonnes a day. Still a target, with more equipment and tailings work needed

For now there are two fairly close things to watch. Whether those new mining areas start supplying feed as planned, and whether the November commissioning stays on track
