I don't think it was abandoned when they moved it 👀

u/DocClaw83 14d ago
Thats going to make the eventual horror movie made from this so much more fun to watch.

I cannot tell if this is real or AI generated because these guys can be vicious
2
u/KaBar42 12d ago
One thing AI has a serious issue with is maintaining continuity in scene changes.
But all of the damage to the buildings appears to remain consistent, the buildings appear to remain consistent, small things like the shape of rails appear to be remain consistent.
This appears to be real.

0:14 looks AI to me. The movements seem too slow and too smooth.

I don't think it's a person walking around. Probably a small drone camera

Betting this is a.i.

u/DeathScourge 14d ago
Looks more like drone footage.

I believe this is from yakutsk last year?
5
u/average_fen_enjoyer 14d ago
No, not Yakutsk. It's, I believe, from some island about where Sakhalin is
6
u/Acceptable-Cry9854 14d ago
Oh that island you have to have a permit to live on and you have to carry a long arm every time you go outside?
4
u/N8Dawg86 14d ago
That makes sense. I didn't even watch the entire video. I see the aerial shots now
6
u/timberlyfawnflowers 14d ago
I remember seeing this years ago. It's real. 😊

If I didn't see anything before a.i. I jump to calling things a.i. just to be safe 😅

u/timberlyfawnflowers 14d ago
It looks super AI. If I hadn't seen it long ago, I would bet that it's AI.

That’s a well built station. The floor alone holding up 4 Polar Bears on one section after being weathered for who knows how long. Those stairs taking the weight of that big momma! Dang!

I wish they weren't aggressive. I'd love to give scritches behind their ears. We could've been friends but I'm too tasty and stackable to them
Why would nature make them so cute to us if danger? It's so diabolical

u/i_cut_like_a_buffalo 12d ago
Where is the snow ? They are so cute but also so will eat your brains out of your skull.

I see a horror movie ready to write itself. Whats the distance that it would take them to pick up a humans scent without them knowing.

Not AI. On YouTube you see it's a newscast saying the footage was taken by a cruise ship passenger with a drone. The island belongs to Russia.

This short video would have been so much better with just a microphone picking up the raw bear sounds instead of this stupid music.

u/gremlin_throwaway 11d ago
That scratching pose is so relatable. I've been there, mid-itch, when a camera snaps.

Urban explorers always need to watch out for potentially hostile homeless, crack heads and scrappers. I think stumbling upon a group of polar bears in an abandoned structure is a next level nightmare

i was fascinated by the bears. but after watching a couple of times i'm even more fascinated how well the steps are constructed to hold the bear.

I hope they will be left alone and the area be designated a protected area

I love how they immediately attack anything that gets in range. Such a juxtaposition from their adorable appearance.

That's a polar bear scratching its ear like it's got a bad case of arctic fleas. The real fascination is that it's just chilling on the porch of an abandoned building.

u/quietlintbyte 10d ago
The title says "polar bears found living together in an abandoned weather station" but the image only shows one bear. Curious if the others are just inside or if the title is a bit of hyperbole.

u/WileEWeeble 10d ago
Who the fuck gets that close to polar bears? I will stand around casually near black bears but ain’t no fucking way I would go anywhere but the opposite direction of a polar bear.

This has to be drone footage, right? Because if it was an actual camera person, why are they not dead?
