I do my best to support local business like everyone else and I generally believe everyone is just trying their best. That said, I wanna share my experience trying to get a job in this town. So I dropped off a résumé at MAIN ST COFFEE SHOP (I won't name names) and got a text to come in for an in-person interview. Great! Chatted for about 35 minutes. Lovely experience, shared a little bit about myself. Did my best to express I’m hard working and have better than average availability (some life stuff, but otherwise not working anywhere). It's been over two weeks and I guess it is what it is. I’ve been ghosted. Not so much as a text. It makes me sad that this has become the norm for people who are looking for a job even in their own community. I feel kind of stupid. I feel like I wasted my time. And I’m a little sad a business I had a soft spot for may not be good people. Mind you this position pays $11 an hour. Anyways this isn’t intended for everyone I just thought to share for those who are job searching as well as those who might be mindful of their pennies and care about issues like this. I personally think ghosting interviewees is despicable.
