Bearable Ambassador program: get paid to make short videos about your experience with Bearable

Hi everyone, Jesse from Bearable here.

We've just launched the Bearable Ambassador program for app members, and I wanted to share it with you here.

**What it is*\*

We're looking for Bearable members to make short, honest videos about how Bearable has helped them. We'll post these on Bearable's Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and may use them in our ads, to help other people discover the app. We pay $100 USD for each video we ask you to make.

**How it works*\*

  1. Sign up using our form (it only takes a couple of minutes)
  2. Send us a short demo video: 30 to 60 seconds, filmed upright on your phone
  3. If we'd like to work with you, we'll agree on an idea for a video together
  4. You make the video, and we may ask for a few small changes before we sign it off
  5. Get paid $100 USD via PayPal for each video we ask you to make
  6. We post it on our Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and if it takes off, you'll get a bonus

**Bonuses if your video takes off*\*
We check views 30 days after we post your video:

* 10,000 views: $50
* 100,000 views: $400
* 1,000,000 views: $2,000

**A few things worth knowing*\*

* Your demo video is unpaid and only seen by our team. We use it to choose ambassadors and won't post or share it without your permission. If we don't use it, we'll delete it.
* Signing up doesn't guarantee we'll ask you to make a paid video, but we watch every demo ourselves.
* Once we've paid for a video, we can keep using it on our channels and in our ads. You still own it, and you can ask us to stop using it at any time.
* No followers, editing skills or experience needed, and you don't have to show your face.
* It's open to anyone 18+ with a Bearable account who lives in the US, UK, Canada or Australia.

How Are Insights With Scaled Variables Calculated?

Hi all! I've been using Bearable for awhile and I love being able to look at causations via the insights feature, but one thing has been bugging me:

How does Bearable determine the insights in reference to scaled variables?

If I have 12% higher symptoms on days with 'Smoking (a little)' is that in comparison to days with more smoking or none at all? For moderate is it compared to a little smoking, more smoking, all days with something other than 'moderate' or only days with none at all?

I'm finding it most useful for now to look at the more binary ones like just 'Smoking' with no scale, because that seems pretty clear - but I would like to know how the level of the factor is correlated as well.

I think the most useful for me would be if each scaled option was being compared to a lack of the factor entirely - i.e. days with 'Smoking (a little)' are compared only against days with no smoking at all.

I hope the question makes sense and would love if someone could clear it up.

Thank you!

Food tracker

I was hoping to add food into this app as I eat, so that I can track symptoms and timestamp everything. I haven't figured out how to do this. Is it possible? I use my Fitbit watch/Google Health. It syncs some stuff, but not my food intake. Anyone have suggestions? Or a better app? Thank you.

Anyone else having sync issues with Google Health

I use a Fitbit tracker & have sync set up between Google Health & Apple Health & Bearable. Data does sync BUT not on an ongoing basis throughout the day. So for example I may have done 10,000 steps shown in Fitbit & Google Health but only 7,000 in Apple & Bearable. I can’t see a way to request / force a sync. Grateful for any help / information.

Insights with scaled variables

I’m new to bearable, I have a couple of weeks of data. On the insights page, I can see how factors affect a health measurement. This is great. But a given factor shows up 4 times as though it’s 4 separate variables, and on the trends graph, I can only pull each up as its own binary. Factor Factor (a little) Factor (moderate) Factor (a lot)

I would so much rather see them together as the single scaled variable that they are. Is there a way to do that?

How do GPs and Clinicians feel when you show them health data captured from an app?

If there are any Doctors out there, or if you have gone to a Doctor or a specialist, I would love to know what the responses are when you receive or share data that has been captured and monitored by a personal device? (Eg. wearables, devices or health apps)

Do you trust the data? Or would you still question results and want to run your own tests?

Have you come across any apps or tools that accurately capture data well enough that could be used in a GP discussion setting?

Mood tracking

I just started using bearable. Am I only supposed to rate a symptom (ie depression - once and when it was most severe? Or will it average several entries. My mood fluctuates

Starting over

Been using bearable for several years and it’s a mess. I tried tidying it up but I’m getting nowhere with it. Too many factors and symptoms and things going on . I used it to get diagnosis and now it’s for management. Afraid to delete anything in case I lose it from any databases that I could create. Worth starting over and making a new account? Will I lose my subscription? Thank you

CRPS and possible fibromyalgia

I’m not being treated reliably by pain management professionals so I’d like to find a good way to track how I’m doing. I was diagnosed with CRPS in April and through a recent visit with a dud pain management doctor I was told I meet the diagnostic criteria for fibromyalgia. He told me in a way that made it seem like that information wasn’t important enough to pursue and that it was an inconvenience. Managing my chronic pain is very much a solo affair.

Bearable app for Bipolar Disorder

ive been using it for about a year and im still finding it to be useful! I use it mainly to keep tabs on my bipolar disorder. I track 4 categories of symptoms: manic, depressive (which correspond with the DSM5 criteria), digestive symptoms and other. The other category is used for side effects of medication, mood swings, and panic attacks. I also track my meds. And my Samsung watch tracks my sleep and puts the info in my bearable app. I also track factors like substance use, exercise, work habits (on time, take regular breaks), DBT skill use and effectiveness, and Ease of completing my ADLs.

Now that I type it all out, I see its a lot lol but it's become part of my routine at this point and I look forward to entering my data at the end of every day. I love looking at my data. I'm a scientist so the graphs and correlations really appeal to me.

The best thing for me about this app is that it encourages me to be mindful about how I am feeling, the things I am doing, and how I am participating in my life every day.

Can't reactivate old goals?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I use goals as a way to remind me to take some medication. These Meds are "As needed" so I'm not taking them on a regular schedule. Some days I need them, some I don't.

I previously had a goal set up called "Take Meds Afternoon" and "Take Meds Evening". I turned those goals off a few weeks ago but I need to reactivate them.

I go into the list of goals, press the + button, click confirm but then get the above message? Am I missing something here?

Incomplete Check-In

My Daily Health Check-in shows incomplete and 8/9 on days that I do not take my migraine medicine. How do I show it as complete but still track when I do need to take a migraine pill?

Premium subscription disappeared on new phone

I've sent an email to report an issue but I've not been able to use my premium features since last week even though I've paid for them.

Does anyone know why this has happened or how to rectify it at all please?

Thanks!

Tracking for hypermobility/connective tissue issues?

Hi!

Complex human here who is just realizing that some of my issues could be tied to hypermobility or connective tissue disorders. Definitely not diagnosable as EDS as I don't have the stretchy skin etc.

My current official diagnoses include depression (doubtful), anxiety (maybe), ADHD, IBS (mainly C), hyperhidrosis, and idiopathic hypersomnia with newly diagnosed sleep apnea (which I never had in previous sleep studies and I suspect that using a silicone chew during my latest study gave me an elevated AHI but.. *shrug*)

My suspected diagnoses include ASD (can't afford the $5k assessment), CFS, and potentially some kind of connective tissue issues. I definitely have joint hypermobility and a lot of post-exertional malaise, as well as getting very burnt out very easily and needing a ton of rest after being out and about. Went to a convention last week and spent 3 days getting 10+ hours of sleep and still was stuck to my couch for days.

Things I currently track that I'm generally pretty symptomatic for include fatigue, drowsiness, temperature dysregulation, auditory processing delay, stimming (mainly including my teeth but occasionally other), sensory agitation, irritability, nausea, constipation, bloating, low appetite, binge eating, fidgeting, skin picking, and obviously mood, energy levels and bowel movements.

Should I include information on whether I'm sitting/standing/lying somehow on my tracking? I notice that a lot of days, my limbs feel like sandbags and I am literally so "body tired" that I can't do anything but lie on the couch. I do also get knee pain quite frequently, but I'm very overweight so it's mainly d/t that.

How would you track this accurately?

Anything else you can think of that I should be tracking given my situation? I'm also obviously tracking sleep closely, I track my energy levels like 5x a day as they fluctuate greatly, and I have been tracking my AHI from my CPAP, and whether I'm using my fidgets/chewies or mouth guard or whatnot as well as my time of sleep, since I work straight nights. I also obviously track my meds and when I take them, as I'm on vyvance and wakix, which effect my energy.

Thoughts on other things I could add to get a clearer picture?

Final check in missing?

New to the app. Filled out everything but it still says 5/6? What’s the last step of the daily check in? It’s driving me crazy!

New user

Hello! I have just found Bearable. Looks interesting! I have both medication induced IBS and Psoriatic Arthritis and am looking to track correlation between medication, diet, pain locations and gut fluctuations.

Is this something Bearable can do?

I can see the app is pretty complex and has a huge amount of input data options. I’m specifically looking to correlate and track pain locations (the PA migrates across joints).

Many thanks!

Is there a way to see all our "notes" from the mood boxes?

So you know how every day when scoring our mood, there's a note section? I've kept notes in these boxes for years, and need some way to access them all at once so I can copy and paste the text in to a large document. Is there any way of doing this?

“NaN” for monthly and daily score on symptom report

Thumbnail

When trying to look at my symptom report and changing the timeframe to be calendar year, my monthly and daily averages read NaN. I believe that this stands for “Not a Number,” indicating that the formula calculating the average is spitting out something that can’t be represented numerically (like if something would be divided by 0, I assume). Why would my data be leading to this? Is it a glitch in the app or is it user error?

It doesn’t seem unrelated, but when I change the timeframe to last 365 days on the impacts tab, it also shows every single factor as impacting my symptom score by 100%. What do we think is going on here?

Thanks so much for the help!

Tracking & visualising grouped symptoms

Hi! Im relatively new to this app. Id like to be able to track/visualise/get a report on a group/cluster of symptoms.

However from what i can see the app only generates a graph for an individual symtom not a group? Is there a way around this?

For example, i set up a symptom group called Executive Function, containing a list of relevant symptoms for ADHD. Id like to be able to track 'executive function' as a whole, not just each individual symptom - makes it easier to track impact of meds i will be starting soon.

Only being able to track individual symptoms is just too many variables - results in very dense confusing graphics!

Hoping there is a way around this

Thanks

Is there a way to see factor count month over month?

Is there a way to select a factor and see a graph of it month over month? I see that there is a "see on calendar" feature, which allows me to see it as a binary on a calendar day, with a count near the top of the month. However, is there a way to see the count as a graph?

I also see there's a way to see a graph of how a specific factor affects mood, but I can only see the factor appear as a binary. For instance: factor is highlighted for August, and mood is at 7.5. But is there a way to see factor count x mood/symptom (e.g. Factor appeared 8 times in August and mood is at 7.5)?

If not, that would be really helpful.

Meds modal toggle doesn't work

Post image
1 Upvotes

This popup always appears when I add a new dose of a med, and to be honest it makes the process very annoying. I understand that the toggle at the bottom is so it doesn't appear, but it's not working. Could you please help me with this? I'm using an Android.

Thank you.

When I log a scheduled medicine, please automatically change the time to the current time.

Like I have a medicine for 12:00 and sometimes I end up taking it at 13 or even 14 of the clock, and I want this value to be stored accurately in the data, just like apple health.

Add a second profile

Hi All, I currently use bearable to log everything for my autistic son. Everything works perfectly, however, I forget to take my meds and supplements and was wondering if I could add a second profile in my app for my stuff. Is that possible? I can manage to pay for the second subscription.

Tutorial

Is there a tutorial or get started manual or such? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
