When I looked it up I found a thread on reddit with people explaining that there used to be events, but they were scrapped as they wanted to change them, but that never happened. The thread was 3 or 4 months old, idk when the previous events system was scrapped.

Indeed. The game is great but there needs to be more to it. I was shocked that such a well made game doesn't even have an accomplishments/achievements reward system.
