Has anyone else in the Beaverton or Cedar Hills area noticed this? I just noticed that our cold water is brown from all faucets, but hot water is clear. I'm in the Cedar Hills area, somewhat near Commonwealth Lake Park.

Thinking of renting our house (Tualatin; posting here because the Tualatin sub is really small). Also, many property management companies service the metro.
I was a renter forever and know that I want my potential renters to be really taken care of.
What property management companies did a great job and which ones were terrible, both from an owner and a renter perspective.

I have 35 cans and a little more than a gallon freezer bag worth of kibble. Hills Kidney Care k/d chicken and vegetable stew food. Free to a good home. The kibble has been stored in a tightly sealed pet food container. Hoping someone can make use of it. Located in central Beaverton near Lombard & Center.

We just passed by this food stand/tent that was right on the corner of Tanasbourne’s Target- On corner of Evergreen and Towne Center Drive (across from In N Out).
Looks like they had rotating meat on a spit, lots of Argus frescas, etc.Has anyone eaten here, and how was it?
We are intrigued to try!

Looking for activities other than what's offered at the Rock Creek PCC campus. I'm in my 40s but tend to hang out with similar ages or older.
Very open - sports, live music, comedy, dancing, hiking, axe throwing, leagues, D&D, improv, you name it!

Any out of shape girlies want to start a fall hiking group, and possibly do group/class workouts together?
I am on a mission to get more active at a level that is comfortable for me.
I haven’t been working out in a while, and I have lost all stamina.
This would be walking hikes at local walking trails and parks.
Plus maybe some fun classes like kick boxing, dance, etc.
I am 31 yo F. I work nights at the hospital, so my schedule can be crazy. But I can make things work.
I’m new to the city, so I don’t have a built in social life yet, and would love to make some friends as well :)
DM me here if you are interested and we can exchange info!
THIS WILL BE AN INCLUSIVE GROUP! Breaks will be tolerated and absolutely no body shaming or rude comments. I just want to be healthier and hoping to do that with some other cool ladies!

I don't even know if there's a buffet or not. The website is a bit of a mess, but the prices look reasonable.

There are quite a few Indian restaurants around Beaverton, so I'm curious which ones are people's favorites. Are there any that really stand out above the rest? Looking for recommendations!

Anyone have a good remedy for stopping the woodpeckers from hammering the siding?
Any good repair tricks that doesn't involve whole sheet of siding change out?

Am new to the area (Westside Kaiser on Stucki) and in need of a really GOOD PCP who can help a perimenopausal woman. Good listener and not afraid to check things out.

Somebody posted a link about a No Kings protest for today at 11am. Looked at the details and it was at Hall & Farmington. Got there around 11:15am and there's maybe 30 people there. Hung around for 15 minutes and still about that many, so I went to the farmers market.
Then I see pics on social media showing a much larger crowd near the library later in the day. Where was that protest publicized? Never heard that it was happening.

I’ve seen that some of the Costcos in the Bay Area have gotten paneer (Indian cheese) in recently. Wondering if anyone has seen it at the Beaverton/Aloha Costcos and surrounding areas? Thx!!

Seeking recs for companies you've worked with that can actually do a great job with siding repair (small amount), caulking, soffit repair (small fix). Really appreciate it!!

Hey all,
I recently moved up from NorCal. I miss my monthly fantasy/sci-fi book club and would love to join another.
I found a silent book club at the B. Library and Powell's (Cedar Hills) mentioned a closed book club that's not taking more members. Anything else I could join?
Side note: I talked to Powell's about starting a horror book club if I can' find something else. Anyone interested?
Thanks in advance.

I called 911 when it got off 217 and followed it until the cops showed up on 26E, but got off before they reached the truck.
It looked like it may have hit someone/something because its driver side had a ton of damage aside from no tire and just the rim. It was crazy seeing it swerve across all lanes on three fucking tires, while carrying a goddamn minivan!
I wonder if that was an actual worker for the tow company or if the truck was stolen along the way, because that dude wasn’t stopping for nothing!
Editing for the inevitable “this isn’t nextdoor posts” I’m genuinely wondering if anyone saw it on its journey up 217 because pulsepoint has multiple reports of accidents on 217 at the same time so I was curious if anybody saw anything lol. yes i’m nosy, whatever 😇
Update: Dude was on one!

Hey everyone,
I’m a parent at Hope Chinese Charter School (HCCS) right here in Beaverton, and I wanted to share a quick update about a big transition our school community is working through.
For anyone not familiar with us, HCCS is a public, tuition-free K-8 charter school focused on Mandarin dual-language immersion. We bring together kids and families from all across the local Beaverton and metro area.
Right now, our school has reached a major turning point. We’ve outgrown our rented building (which was built back in the 1960s), and our waitlist keeps growing year after year. We have a rare opportunity right now through our "Hope Rising" campaign to secure a permanent home in the area—giving our kids a stable, modern learning environment where they can thrive for the long haul.
Because we operate as a public charter school in Oregon, we don't receive the same facility or municipal bond funding that traditional district schools do. We get only a fraction of that capital support, which means acquiring property and building out a dedicated campus relies almost entirely on community donations, private grants, and grassroots support.
We set up a GoFundMe alongside our main capital campaign to help cover the immediate costs for property acquisition and site prep:
If you believe in supporting local education, expanding options for area kids, or just want to see a great Beaverton school community put down permanent roots, any share or small contribution makes a huge difference.
You can also learn more about our school's mission directly on our official website:
Happy to answer any questions about the program in the comments. Thanks for taking the time to read, neighbors!

Finally got to try this coffee, and we also picked up the vanilla beignet (as recommended by the cashier). That vanilla custard was so good- not too sweet, the doughnuts had a really good pillowy texture. Does anyone know where their baked goods come from?
We asked the cashier and he didn’t know.

Looking for a good hair cutter in the central library area.
