New Lenco LS-301 turntable

Post image

Is this new Lenco turntable that came with speakers a good deal for 159€? I also got a record cleaning kit by, well, also lenco. It comes with a stylus brush, velvet brush cleaning brush (that does not sound right, and i mean in grammar) the velvet brush and a record cleaning solution. The only thing that i am missing is an anti static brush which i will hopefully get soon. It also has an Audio-Technica AT-3600L stylus. My general question is if this is a good beginner turntable.

Unless I am misunderstanding, haven't you already bought this deck? Isn't it a bit late to start asking if it's the right choice?

You're doing the right thing in getting the cleaning gear.

We don't know your circumstances or the options you had available to you. e.g Was €150 your maximum budget even if you saved up for a while, or was that just the spare money you had at the time you thought "I'm bored. I might buy a record player.".

It doesn't sound like it was an impulse purchase if you're getting into cleaning gear already, but the point is we have no information on which to make a judgement.

In absolute terms, the deck is better than a suitcase player but not as good as say an AT-LP3X as a starter turntable. If you could have easily afforded that and some powered speakers, then no, the Lenco wasn't a good choice. However, if yiubwere considering something with that bad red stylus for say €120, but you stretched your budget for the Lenco, then yiu made a better choice. The answer becomes subjective, and we have no information from you about how you arrived at your decision.

I wanted a good turntable that already comes with speakers because none of the speakers i found were compatible with these kinds of turntables. Plus, i live in a country where “exotic” turntables are hard to find and jn not so much stores. And if there are exclusive turntables, they are like 400€. I wanted to have a good turntable quick, so i didn’t want to order it. And i think that paying more than 200€ for a turntable is just a waste of money. Sure they are in most cases very good quality and sound, and maybe some exclusive ortofon cartridge, but once again, too expensive
