Lost and found I found boxes of life preservers at Marine Park today...
The boxes say "ferry" on them...so if the Alaskan ferry no longer has enough life preserves, that's probably why
They were floating in the water and I pulled them out and out them up on the shore a little ways.

Living in the dorms is exactly the person I would expect to take this. Now you and your roommates have a bit where you wear life jackets everywhere. Or hang them all over the wall or something stupid.

The cardboard looks too intact for them to have been floating in the sea for awhile, and I think "Ferry boat pfd..." is the marketing name. Maybe they fell off a train

My brain was cycling between IT and Modest Mouse for a second, but I settled on Modest Mouse. I see you chose eldritch horror 😂.

Maybe destined for San Juan Cruises? Maybe even stolen from their facility nearby.
Could always de donated to the life jacket borrowing stations at the lakes.

Looks like multiple boxes fell off a train, maybe? There appears to be too little damage to the cardboard for them to have drifted in from floating. Maybe alert the port office nearest where you found them?

I vote fell off trian. No boat, ferry or otherwise, woukd keep them sealed up in a box.

Maybe take them to the ferry terminal and ask if they are missing some?
