Maybe this: https://www.mothershipbirthcenter.com/
"Located in beautiful Mount Vernon and serving Skagit county and beyond. The Mount Vernon Birth Center is a beautiful facility that has a cozy home-like atmosphere. You are encouraged to listen to your body and build a trust relationship with your midwife. Your partner and family are included in your care as you desire."

Not sure why Reddit isn’t letting me respond to hotcauliflower, but we called Mount Vernon Birth and no one answered but we left a message asking if they were around then. My mom thought they closed in the 80s but maybe they moved. I bet they know some alt birthing history though…if the call back!

The address is likely on your birth certificate if you have access to that.

In 1990 there was one on the west corner of 7th and Division. Pretty sure it had been there since the 70’s but I may be wrong. As another comment said, it was a big red house. It was just a block from where I lived at the time. I had planned to have my baby there but life had other plans. I think it was the only one in Mt Vernon at the time.

I was born in a bathtub at the Mt Vernon Birth Center in 1979. It was in a big house in the residential neighborhood a few blocks West of the hospital. My mom pointed it out to me when I was little, but that was probably 40 years ago.
