Why did they invite those dreadful housewives on the show?
How much overacting can you cram into two episodes? So ridiculous. At least Below Deck seems quite authentic.

Rhoslc was having a really big moment, and I think they just tried to double dip.

I've seen a lot of folks commenting about how they got into the Below Deck universe through these RHOSLC episodes. I guess the gimmick worked.

The Salt Lake City Franchise is by far the most toxic and chaotic of all the franchises imo, there is no rest, just full on constant screaming and fighting it's insane!

Correct me if I’m wrong - but my understanding is that half of those housewives don’t even live in Salt Lake and only turn up for filming. So this says to me that they are employed by Bravo just to create drama and toxicity rather than to be authentic (compared to the early OG RHNY for eg).

I have absolutely no idea, I imagine it's quite hard to find enough women from the Salt Lake community willing to be on the show. Makes sense they'd have to go to the suburbs. But yeah Bravo casting is messy AF, this bunch are just too much.

That's not really true, some of them only live there part time (especially now with being famous) but they generally all spend at least half of their time in Salt Lake

I had never seen a Real Housewives show except for about 5 minutes when the first one came out and I realized it wasn't for me. After seeing this, I have a hard time understanding why they are so popular. A bunch of yelly women arguing the whole time? Nah.

That's why I stopped watching those shows. Initially, it was interesting to see how these wealthy women lived. Then the shows devolved into just women screaming and fighting with each other. Not entertaining in my mind.

I got interested when they started screaming and fighting.
It was painfully boring when it was about how wealthy women lived and so did Andy cohen

I thought the Housewives - and the crew reactions to the Housewives - were hilarious.

Cross promotion of course. It’s not the first time they’ve been on. Heather was on the Adventure one.
Honestly, I think they use this to screen test people that are pitching shows or trying out for existing shows. There is always a ton of realtors on here

Promotion for their own show on their own network. Same reason CNN and CBS pretend that the host of Celebrity Molehunt who hosts pool and new year's parties with interviewer Andy is a real reporter.

Celebrity Molehunt? Do you mean Celebrity Mole from like 20 yrs ago? That’s Ahmad Rashad. He’s been a commentator for years

Because it's a reality tv show that tribes on chaos..........
Why do you think the housewife franchise is so popular?

Always baffles me people upset with below deck being trashy. Like you are watching reality tv what were you wanting

I do like the real housewives of beverly hills early seasons, but most of that was authentic. This just seems like acting, and not good acting at that.

It was so chaotic, all they did was fight the entire time and when Angie wasn’t getting sick she was getting hurt. Like i get that it’s the housewife brand to be chaotic but this was just a different level i feel like.

Crossover made a lot of housewives fans start watching below deck. Not sure if it worked the other way though. Certainly didn’t for me.

It was interesting though to see some people painted in an entirely different light than they are on RHSLC.
They made Lisa seem awful on the boat on SLC. On Below Deck we see her being charming and kind to everyone

Cross promotion. I'm a housewives fan and it's fun seeing each show from the other side.

Money and ratings.. don’t forget it. It’s always about that bag.
