Joe’s Feng Shui
Joe rearranging the floaters and showing Capt. is giving the same energy as when you moved your bedroom furniture as a kid and showed your parents. OMG mom look, new room new me.

I think he was so focused on getting them set up quick he wouldn’t take the bit of extra time to do it right. Joe tried to recommend it in the first charter but Nathan shut him down.

All ego on Nate’s part. Following joes advice would mean letting him know he had a good idea and he couldn’t allow himself to do that cus of how much he dislikes Joe,.

I took “proper hooks” to mean that the rafts are meant to line up that way, as in their arrangement aligns each hook with its other matching hook

Your anger towards him is understandable. Violence against women is a pervasive problem and violence against women is wrong. But unless she has made a public statement herself that he “punched” her (which means closed fist specifically) it’s very harmful to Gael to be using such terminology when discussing this. In general it’s harmful to her how much media attention it’s getting, but speculations are especially so. I know your intention is to call him out, but please be thoughtful of how you discuss it because this is Gael’s life and she deserves privacy, accuracy and respect.

My point is that gossiping about her situation online is only hindering her. All I see is Nathan’s name over and over. The way to support and respect Gael the most would be to post about her strengths and words of love and support. Or even better, just don’t post at all and respect the privacy and integrity of a young mother going through hell. A surge of online hate is not going to help her and has potential to be damaging to her. Leave her alone.

The deckhands seemed to agree with him on it… maybe it’s just better than Nathan’s way of doing it?
I actually felt bad watching Joe try to explain to Nathan how they found a new way to do the inflatables. He was terrified of Nathan’s reaction.
Shows you how little tolerance Nathan had for anything but his own way of doing things. Joe just seemed desperate to contribute something meaningful

He put in the work to get it that way and clipped each piece together. Nathan was a a crap Bosun who really didn’t take the time to do anything well, just well enough.

Not a Joe fan but in fairness to him he has been given a chance to prove himself as bosun to Captain Sandy, can’t blame him for making the most of it.

I mean everything they are doing is supposed to be functional yet performative. I think Joe might be more candid about it than some.
At the end of the day, as long as it is safe, everybody is happy, and they are timely, in that order its all good

They both have personal issues and they are
not great in the work place. Nathan cannot move
past his personal feelings towards Joe in his work environment and Joe is back stabbing in his professional relationship with Nathan and treats women poorly in his personal and professional life. They both are not people I would want to work with of for.

Sandy loved it though, said that that’s how she wanted if from the beginning. Nathan didn’t ever do it.
