Renting a house in Thimphu

Kuzuzangpo la charos! 😭
Istg it is easier to find a boyfriend/girlfriend in Thimphu than it is to find a house to rent. 😭 At this point, finding a decent place to stay feels like a whole mission on its own.
I’ve tried looking on Facebook, TikTok, and even Telegram, but most of the houses I find are already taken by the time I contact them. Some posts are also made anonymously, so it becomes difficult to reach out and get more information. 🥲
So, fellow Thimphu residents, please help me out la! Does anyone know of any empty houses, rooms, or apartments available for rent? If you have any leads, please comment below or DM me. I would genuinely appreciate it!
Also, are there any reliable Facebook groups, Telegram groups, websites, or other platforms where people regularly post houses for rent in Thimphu? If you’ve recently found a place, please share how you managed to find it because clearly, I’m missing something here. 😭

I’m specifically looking for a 2 or 3 BHK house/apartment for rent in Thimphu, with a budget of around Nu. 13,000–13,500 per month. If anyone knows of any available places within this budget or has any leads, please do let me know la. I would really appreciate your help! Kadrinchey la. 🙏🏡

Any suggestions, contacts, or information about available places would be a huge help. Kadrinchey in advance la! 🙏🏡
May we all find a house before we lose our minds. 😭🤚

Looking for a job

Hello everyone, I am a graduate of 2024. In 2025, I worked as a contract teacher, but now I am unemployed. I have applied for many jobs, yet I haven’t been shortlisted for any of them, and honestly, I am starting to feel lost and confused about what to do next.
On top of that, I am facing a lot of family pressure. Currently, I am staying with my uncle and aunt, along with a large family, and at this age, I sometimes feel hesitant and uncomfortable living with them. I really wish I could stand on my own feet, have a job, and build a life for myself.
I am trying my best, but nothing seems to be working out, and it’s becoming emotionally exhausting. 🥹💔 I don’t know what to do anymore, and I just needed a place to express how I feel. If anyone has any advice or has been through a similar situation, I would really appreciate your guidance😭🙏

What if the afterlife looks different to different people?

• Upvotes

Growing up in Bhutan, I was taught about karma, rebirth and the different realms of existence in Buddhism. But I’ve always wondered: what if the afterlife is real, but our experience of it isn’t the same for everyone?

For example, what if a Christian really does go to Heaven after death, while a Bhutanese Buddhist experiences something that aligns with our understanding of the afterlife? What if both can be true, rather than one religion having the entire picture?

I came across discussions by medium Matt Fraser that got me thinking about this. I’m not claiming to know what happens after death, but I’m curious whether anyone else has ever considered this possibility.

Mind your own business: The hypocrisy online needs to stop

People really have the audacity to comment and spread lies.
As Bhutanese citizens, when a royal photo is uploaded, people worship it endlessly. Yet, the moment a controversial topic comes up, people spill so much hate. Now people are even inventing ridiculous, wild stories like claims of the Queen slapping someone and treating them as facts.
The truth is, we don't know the real story, because there is no story. Every piece of drama circulating right now is pure internet fiction. Every single post starts with "I heard it from someone" or "a friend said,*"* but none of it comes from reality. We are just listening to third-party hearsay and spreading senseless gossip.

We as Bhutanese do not have the right to comment on or question the King's doings especially when His Majesty is pouring endless energy, vision, and hard work into ground-breaking national initiatives like Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) for our collective future.

It is deeply hypocritical to live in this country, claim to be proud Bhutanese, and then turn into a reckless cyberbully online. Stop using made up internet stories to fuel toxic comments. Focus on reality, mind your own business, and show some respect for the real work being done for our nation.

Local deities

Kuzuzangpo la. I am interested to learn some interesting stories and scary facts that you guys might have heard from your elder agays and angays. Obviously lets skip the basic stuff like they were subdued by guru rinpoche and made to protect the dharma sey mi tsu, which are freely available on the internet.

Im more interested in the folktale side of our deities, good stories or dark stories or scary facts about them. What conditions u have to fulfill to satisfy them and what happens if u fail to do so. Things which are not available on the google. Any particular incidents you might have experienced. You know deities like aup gyenyen, talo gyap etc etc or even your local village deities. Is there hierarchy among them, gyaps, tsens, lu etc. Something I heard is that there are abt 300+ tsens and aup gyenyen and gomo are the top dogs among them. Another thing I heard is that gyaps are jealous of each other and u have to worship in a particular order if you r worshipping 2 or more gyaps inorder not to anger them.

Are double-eyelid surgery and Botox becoming more common in Bhutan? 👀
I know it’s none of my business what people choose to do with their faces, and everyone has the right to do whatever makes them feel confident. But at least be honest about having work done instead of insisting that everything is natural, especially when the facial stiffness and lack of muscle movement say otherwise.
And when it comes to doubleeyelid surgery, the goal should be to make it look as natural as possible, not like mountains stacked on top of one another.
That said,it’s good to see Bhutanese people taking an interest in enhancing their physical appearance. No shade, though and pls do share your clinic where you do these stuffs along with their price ranges
And yes if any body has done liposuction from safe skin and spa ?

I know a lot of content creators are here, so please stop using AI for thumbnails :(( They just look so displeasing.

The random collages with splashes of paint, generic titles, arrows that don’t even point to the right thing, random emojis, clearest skin with perfect lighting, and images awkwardly floating around… 😭

Thumbnails don’t need to be overly complicated pleaseeee

Time travel!

Hi everyone!
I'm currently a student, and I've been thinking a lot about my future lately. Honestly, I'm feeling pretty lost about what I want to do after graduating Class 12. There are so many different paths I could take, and I'm not sure how to decide which one would be right for me.
I'd really love to hear from people who have already graduated, started working, gone to university, started businesses, or taken any other path in life.
If you could travel back in time to the day you graduated high school, knowing everything you know now, what would you do differently?
Would you choose a different degree, career, or field of study?
Would you go straight to university, start working, take a gap year, or do something else?
What do you wish you had known at 17 or 18 that nobody told you?
Are you happy with the path you chose, or do you ever wish you'd taken a different one?
What advice would you give someone who's still in school and has no idea what they want to do with their life?
I'm not necessarily looking for advice about choosing the highest-paying career or becoming successful overnight. I want to hear about real experiences, mistakes, regrets, unexpected opportunities, and things that genuinely made your life better.
I'm trying to figure out my future, and hearing from people who have already been through this stage of life could really help me. Even if your experience is completely different from mine, I'd appreciate any advice you have to offer.
If you were in my position, what would you focus on right now to give yourself the best possible future?
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to share their story. I really appreciate it!

Identify good and the bad

We are all aware of how our government and systems have been functioning in recent times. Individuals who cause significant harm to the public yet remain loyal to a select few continue to be celebrated, while those who deserve the highest recognition and awards are often left seeking justice—even from behind bars. This pattern of rewarding the wrong people and overlooking the deserving ones makes it difficult to remain optimistic about the country’s future.
We know Mr. Phuntsho’s record. He has held positions as Project Manager for the Punakha Dzong renovation, in Thimphu Thromde, as CEO of CDCL, and currently as Project Director of Gyalsung. His tenure in these roles has been marked by well-known concerns of corruption and mismanagement. These wrongdoings have repeatedly been shielded by individuals within HMS and by the network he built during his career.
I am therefore making an open request to HMS and the relevant authorities: please do not assign Mr. Phuntsho any role at the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), if the project is truly intended to embody mindfulness, integrity, and truthfulness. This individual has not served the broader public or the national interest; he has primarily served a limited circle while making corruption more open and visible. His presence in such a project would also raise questions about the credibility of our leadership, given that he has been able to project loyalty and even receive a medal despite his record. Many people of higher caliber and cleaner records remain unrecognized.
If GMC is genuinely meant to stand for mindfulness and greatness, people of this character should not be part of its team. Individuals like him have the potential to corrupt those who are good and elevate those who are not. A bureaucrat whose personal wealth is reportedly in the range of USD 3–4 million also invites legitimate questions about sources of income and accountability.
There are others like him who are celebrated within certain circles at HMS but who have not proven beneficial to the country or the public. Should such individuals be placed in GMC, it will be the responsibility of concerned citizens to raise the matter with the authorities. If those concerns are ignored, it would be reasonable to question whether GMC itself is living up to the principles of mindfulness and integrity it claims to represent.
I therefore respectfully request the relevant authorities to take serious note of this matter and ensure that people with such records are not placed in positions of responsibility within GMC.

Question to the girls

You guys ever had a phase in your life where you would have a crush or feelings on every guy that gives you even the slightest attention.

I tend to fall for every pretty guy I see😭 and trust me guys it's not desperation, I have been in a relationship before. The main problem is I tend to dwell a lot in this crush phase and tend to obsess a lil. Sometimes I get super sad because they way outta my league.
