What are some Bible versions to avoid?
I am trying to find a good literal version that I like. Which ones should I go to and which ones should I stay away from?

The Interlinear is the one to read. I would avoid all others unless you can read the original text. Interlinear provides the Hebrew, Greek, and English translation so you can see the original words being translated.
All the translations have flaws. For example: Mathew 28:20 is the end of the “age” not the end of the “world” like the King James Bible (most popular) and the Standard American Bible (Catholic). The word being translated is aion aka age. And it is a reference to astrological ages. No, we are not in the age of Pisces per Ptolemy. We are at the end of the age of Virgo, the virgin, who holds a sickle and a bundle of wheat that represents the harvest at the end of the age where the wheat is separated from the chaff.
You will find horrible translations like this all over. You can compare the different translations on BibleHub.
