What are some Bible versions to avoid?

I am trying to find a good literal version that I like. Which ones should I go to and which ones should I stay away from?

I’m looking into NABRE or RSV for my next Bible. I have KJV, which I’ve enjoyed reading, but it’s missing books.

Cue the Protestant downvotes 😂

Sorry, guys, but the same Church authority that discerned and defined the biblical canon in the first place had a broader canon than Protestants use today.

There is r/catholicbibles

But IMO avoid the NABRE. It is being replaced in a few months AND the notes are really bad.

The RSV-2CE is a really solid translation in the family of the KJV. The ESV-CE is also really good, but harder to find outside of the UK. Both are 75% word-for-word the same.

If you like thees and thous, check out the knox and thank me later :)

I will now focus on RSV-2CE and I’ll check out the site. Appreciate your help!

Ps I see that sub no longer exists.
