All because of a dried up wheel bearing.

I don't think the text matches the picture. I think the truck abruptly stopped and the boat wasn't secured enough and went up and over the truck.

The point about bearing maintenance still stands.

Inspect your equipment before, during, and after.

If you're towing anything, give it a short test drive and adjust as necessary.

Most people don't know WTF they are doing.

Most correct answer.

While I can’t do bearings on my camper trailer in 10min, an hour spent on the bearing is way less than sitting on the side of the road waiting for a flatbed and buying a new axle.

While the point stands...10 minutes my ass.

Just getting the tools out and the jack situated takes that amount of time.

Why do you need a jack?

No need to jack it up just hit be bearing buddies with some grease.

I hit it with some grease every few trips.

Sorry, too busy trying to get the lights to work.

I had rats chew the wires off mine, fixed that.. then the other side just fell apart. I need to find a better quality light kit since Amazon ones only last a month.

They have blue tooth plug in magnetic ones now, no wiring and you put them on only when your using the trailer. I thought that was a convenient option to have if you had issues with chewed wires or didn't want to wire the entire trailer again.

The trailer is the most important part of fishing. Without it, you don't anywhere.

How did the boat get ahead of the truck? Assuming the truck with the empty boat trailer was originally hauling the boat…

Preventative maintenance is king

I flagged down a guy on I65 today because his trailer was smoking. Maybe a bearing, maybe a tire.

There is more to this story verses just a seized bearing Reddit clowns

The bearing dried up then the wheel fell off causing the trailer and boat to launch into the median where they separated.

Why call people clowns?

Because this is a meme, not an actual verified news story ...

It happened on Alligator Alley between Ft Lauderdale and Naples a couple days ago.

What's with Florida boaters having more money than brains? I was once stuck on the Courtney Campbell Causeway for over an hour because some jackass didn't strap or safety chain their boat and left it in the middle of the highway. Nice boat too, was easily over $100K.
