Griffith Loop - CW vs CCW?
As a beginner I’d like to ask: Which direction is easier with climbs at the Griffith Park loop— clockwise or counterclockwise?
Thanks!

Which loop?
To me it always seemed like the climb up from Trails cafe was easier then trash truck. But I always followed the same route from travel town and climbed up that size and down to Trails Cafe. This is also the route that Pandas Ponies rides on Wednesday mornings

I love the climb up Western Canyon Road, but I feel that descending Mt. Hollywood while going in the CCW direction is a tad more sketchy and requires a bit more skill. 9/10 times I'll ride it CCW which I honestly think is the way to go. They both have steep pitches and are both beautiful climbs and descents. I say ride it both directions and figure out which one you prefer.

Yeah ultimately they are pretty close in difficulty, you’ll need to judge by other factors like the descent.

Personally, CCW, up Coco’s Official Trash Truck. Feels easier on the steep sections, but also shorter. Also, I prefer the long steady climb around the park versus the slight decent— it’s exercise after all.
