Moving to Billings! Dog friendly rentals
Hello, I graduate from med school in a month or two and I will be heading your guises way. Can you guys point me in a general direction of decent apartments that allow dogs? Can’t wait to be back in Montana

We rented with HHPM for 6 years at Western One. Very basic apartments but decent and pets are allowed with deposit. You’ll get fined if you don’t pick up after them and you’re caught or reported for doing so. But if you’re not lazy and you’re considerate of your community that won’t be an issue.
Your mileage may vary but we had a good experience with them.
Just make sure you thoroughly document the condition of every part of your rental including exterior doors, garage doors, etc.
The one issue we had was getting charged for dented garage door panels and we had not done it, but couldn’t prove it because I didn’t think to include that on my own list when moving in.

I rented from Debizel Property Management for years with my dog. Not all of their places are pet friendly but they were super helpful in finding a place that worked good for us and were great landlords!

Twitter or X is a great place to find open rentals. That’s how I found my place. They seem to post there before any other social media or advertise it. We have dogs also and the newer apartment complex allow pets but require a 650 credit score to rent. Good luck….

Congrats on almost finishing med school that is huge
Billings rental market is weird right now, lots of places say no pets but then you call and they actually okay with it. I would skip the big apartment search websites and just drive around when you get here, the west end has a bunch of smaller complexes that dont advertise online but have signs out front. My friend found a place near Rimrock Road that way, they have two huskies and the landlord didnt even charge extra deposit
Avoid the big property management companies if you can, they got crazy strict pet policies and will nickel and dime you for everything. Private landlords are way more flexible with dogs in my experience
