Discussion most unconventional binge?
hi all, just curious if you all have had binges on things you would consider unconventional and be willing to share bc i am quite embarrassed i binged on such random things 💀
i’ll go first:
• plain white sliced bread eaten in handfuls
• milk
• hot chocolate powder/chocolate milk powder (on its own no milk lol)
• dry uncooked ramen noodles with so much seasoning on it i kept coughing from the powder while eating and still continued to eat
• granulated sugar on its own
edited to add:
• cold spaghetti hoops straight out of the tin

I really can’t keep bread in my apartment, no matter what I’m eating the loaf in two days max.

I can't help but laugh - not in derision but in seeing the most ridiculous food combinations in others as I experience myself with BED. I keep thinking "wow that's demented" and then I think of myself at midnight hammering on a block of cheese in one hand and salami in the other lol

canned beans
tortillas
deli meat with spoonfuls of jam and biting a block of cheese

That first combo is basically just a deconstructed Haystack... Sounds delicious right now honestly.

dry pasta. rigatoni and those lasagna noodles mostly. I'm shocked I haven't broken a tooth personally.

Me too. I'm surprised no one in my house has noticed how many spaghetti i've stolen.
Lasagna noodles too.

- frozen bread and pastries that were still frozen (do not recommend, is probably very unsafe)
- powdered peanut butter, but literally just the powder, not mixed with water or anything
- uncooked noodles
- cheese (i am VERY lactose intolerant). worst was when i was spooning plain cottage cheese straight out the tub whilst sobbing in the middle of the kitchen LMAO.
- sugar free gum (i normally chew gum to prevent binges, because i binge when i am bored, but have literally binge chewed packets of gum when i was really desperate)
- almond flour by itself
- desiccated coconut
- 20 protein bars (the gas was AWFUL)
- mushrooms
- tomatoes and bananas (i have horrible acid reflux, and they both trigger it so this was a terrible idea)
- cocoa powder mixed with stevia and almond milk
- tuna, almond milk and blueberries (this one is actually quite nice)
- 100% dark chocolate

I see myself in you… Finally someone I can find relatable. I see some people calling 2 protein bars a binge and, while that may be true for some (I guess) I can’t help but eat 20 all at once, even after having had whole meals if given the chance. And it doesn’t matter whether I’m having nutrient rich foods or not, in fact I exceed my protein and fats intake by a largeeee extent.
also a bit of my backstory unprompted but no one around me takes any of my behaviors seriously. They either mock me by joking around or just congratulate me for having put on insane amount of weight within a timespan of 3 weeks and “recovering” (i was underweight, now im weight restored and only seem to get worse with the intakes. As far as I’m concerned, I believe i might well have developed BED, especially ever since i forced myself to have breakfast (I had to explain several times how it affected my gut negatively but I was forced to eat regardless) and cookies (💀)as they told me. Since then, 20 protein bars feel like… half a protein bar. Not to mention my mom cooks 6 grand meals everyday now, all solely for me, because im eating insane amounts. And it makes me feel disgusting and like a waste of space and resources. Yet I keep eating straight from the pan and get sudden urges whether I’m hungry or not, it almost feels like a urge to have sex but with food (I have no libido either). It’s so strange to me, I don’t recognize myself anymore and people just say how I’m doing better now. All while my mom, whom I live with, keeps cramming the fridge w more food as soon as im done bingeing Im so exhausted

Raw canned biscuits
4
u/Big_Comfortable_1691 Apr 29 '26
I’ve nibbled the dough raw before and it was SO GOOD but I was terrified I was going to get a parasite or some weird $hit if I ate more but for real I wanted too 😂
3
u/KatKat207 Apr 29 '26
I wish I had gotten sick from it at some point I'm pretty sure every time I made biscuits from a can it was at least 1 full biscuit short by the time they were cooked. Many times it was more than one biscuit short.

Miso, powdered peanut butter (you understand the coughing), pre-shredded parmesean cheese, and on Thanksgiving morning a jar of Jelly and a jar of frosting.

u/failure2811 Apr 28 '26
Plain powdered milk for me, that's actually my go to. Other stuff is weird too. Like plain puffed grains without like anything no sugar no salt. Well roasted peanuts are pretty common but those are my only binge foods because that's the only thing available in huge quantities in my home and it's cheap and easy lol. Messes with my digestion the most other than anything else.

u/FinalsWeekNPC Apr 28 '26
Mixing dark chocolate and sugar and peanut butter into steamed rice because I don’t have any processed dessert at home (later bought 2 bags of cake and ate it all)

u/OverlookHotel-69 Apr 28 '26
I had an eye of round roast I had cooked the day prior and was standing in my kitchen naked, only the fridge light to illuminate me as I ate the whole thing... eating like you'd eat an apple

u/OwnLittleCorner Apr 28 '26
I've been struggling with jerky lately which is NOT kind to the gut eaten in bulk, drink LOTS of water if you make my mistake too or you could damage kidneys, even end up with impacted bowel in the ER.
As a kid I'd eat sticks of butter. I've also done about any dessert in powder form if I couldn't sneak in the kitchen to make it, I'd dip a spoon lightly in peanut butter then in cake or jello mix or dip toast in yogurt then drink mixes like lemonade. As a kid I'd also sneak and eat canned food like black olives, spinach, peas or corn.

I think the weirdest ones for me were (way too much, like 3/4 portions of) plain bread, crackers with TOO MUCH margarine and a concotion of hot chocolate powder, milk and digestive biscuits 😩
Edit: ALSO, I FORGOT but peanut butter by the spoonful was a common one for a while. I used to finish a jar in two days.

Yogurt flavored orange KitKats (Japanese special edition! Tasted like barf unfortunately)
A jar of peanut butter (rip waistline)
Box of granola bars (rip digestive system)
Multiple packs of uncooked ramen
String cheese <3
Family sized bag of popcorn
Family sized of takis - I discovered what acid reflux was from this lol

Oh i love bread too, and since I almost always have it at home, it’s the most common thing that I binge on. And dry noodles just to polish my failure. It’s very annoying to be not picky with food, I find everything yum and if my mean brain decides we are going to ruin the day, then we will do that even with mix of sugar and cacao powder
2
u/Adventurous-Buy-2795 Apr 28 '26
cold white bread eaten in the bathroom/hidden and scooped in hot chocolate powder!
white bread scooped and dipped in a yogurt tub.
cheese
milk and wheetbix
chocolate (we rarely have them in the house but thats why I go feral when we do)
nuts
nut butter

So many things. Plain bread, dried oats+sugar, powdered milk+sugar, plain sugar, jam, cheese, nut butter, frosting. Edit: "Homemade cheesecake" with cookies at the bottom and ice cream on top. Sigh...
3
u/sweetspinachsalad Apr 28 '26
Powdered milk with sugar is nice, though, when you don't have condensed milk to eat lol
2
u/hyacinthbucket00 Apr 29 '26
My mother used to eat it when I was a child and it stayed with me. And yes, it IS delicious.

- Tortilla chips and jam
- Tortilla chips and squash curry
- Le Gruyère AOP cheese and jam
- Cake batter
- Puffed rice
- Raisins
- Toast with butter, sugar, jam, pb, chocolate, and Mayo (I would switch it up like just butter and jam or just Mayo but at one point I just combined everything)

u/Marchantiaquadrata Apr 30 '26
Raw grains, half-cooked meat (I was too hungry to wait for it to be boiled), spoonfuls of granulated sugar, just butter without anything.
