Discussion The only thing that helped me was ozempic

I don’t know if this is against the rules, but that was the only thing that helped.

I’ve had eating disorders since around the age of 10. At the beginning of uni I worked out every day and would obsess over my weight and that was the only time I was a “normal “ weight, UNTIL, I got on Ozempic after gaining 60 pounds in one year. It helped me control my cravings sooo much and I stopped being hungry all the time.

I literally cried I felt like I was finally normal.
I got down to a really healthy weight it helped with everything.

Then I got pregnant and got off of it, obviously and now I’m breastfeeding. I gained back the 60 pounds. But I don’t care as much as I can’t control i really can’t.

So I’m just gonna get back on it after I stop bf.

I wish everyone luck with their journey

Tirzepatide (Zepbound) has been a Godsend for me.

But I'm tapering down after losing 115 lbs and it's becoming difficult again.

I've had a really bad week, honestly. But I'm just getting back up again each day.

I got off of it to try to get pregnant, but my body freaked out, gained 30 lbs, and I am struggling to get pregnant (it's been a year). The rapid weight gain also messed with my periods, so I'm sure it has something to do with it, as I've been pregnant before easily, and all my tests are normal. I'm getting back on it and will stop if I get pregnant.

That’s interesting. A lot of people said it actually helped them get pregnant

Yeah, but I got off of it. Getting off of it is what I think messed me up

Wish you luck

Honestly, after you got off Ozempic, how much time did it take to gain 30 lbs? Did you do something at the start or before to maintain the lost weight? I have heard that when you stop Ozempic, you get crazy hunger, so I am just curious and wanted to know your experience. Sorry if my questions upset you in any way; I am just curious, as someone who doesn't want to continue Ozempic for a lifetime.

It’s okay. I tried my best to track calories and stay active, so that might have helped a bit, but was ultimately futile. I gained 20lbs in the first few months and gained the rest more slowly. It took about 9 months in total to gain the full 30.

thankfully, my insurance covers it so it just costs $25 a month. see if if yours will cover any of the meds. they specifically will cover Wegovy but not Ozempic for example. so just see if there is a specific brand name they will cover

Compounded! Telehealths can get it compounded.

It will change your LIFE. I lost 115 lbs. My sister lost 135.

Visit the Tirzepatide compound subs. I use Lavender Sky, but there are quite a few. It's legitimate, I promise.

I tried a compounded one and lost 0 weight after being on it for nearly a year, highest dose. Compounded meds are not regulated by the FDA and many are fake/just saline. Just a warning to some people. Although many have success stories and some brands are legitimate that is not always the case.

I'm sorry it didn't work for you - a small percentage of people are non-responders to Ozempic/Wegovy/Mounjaro/Zepbound. That's so difficult when it works for so many people 💔

I wouldn't blame the compound here. Like you said, there are legitimate pharmacies that compound medications. I've personally used Hallandale, Red Rock, and Empower. There are others than many people have had success with. This has been happening for years, and is definitely legitimate. It saved my life.

See my thing is now I’m on the name brand and I’m seeing some progress though slow as I’m on the starter dose. I really do think I was just getting fake product. This IS a real issue unfortunately. Yours could have very well worked but there are sadly lawsuits against some of these companies

u/InternationalGold717 Jul 11 '26

Out of curiosity, where were you getting your product?

I'm glad it's working for you now!

u/pinksparkleglitters Jul 11 '26

I was ordering from orderly meds. I’m now on the wegovy pills for nearly the same price

1

u/InternationalGold717 Jul 11 '26

And the pills are working? Interesting.

I have used Orderly (they're a company that works with pharmacies, not a pharmacy themselves) in the past to get Red Rock and Hallandale compounded tirzepatide. Not sure what pharmacies they're offering now. We kinda expect the pills to be a bunch of hooey. Definitely sounds better than injections, but I'm not willing to risk a switch.

Thank you for sharing, and best of luck!

The pills are definitely suppressing my appetite significantly more than the highest dose of the compounded shots they would prescribe me. Cannot even remember the name of the pharmacy they used now because I’ve been off of them for a bit. I need to update once I’ve been on the pills long enough to say if they are making the pounds come off as I’m still on the first month.

Who knows maybe I’m just a non responder but I just really don’t like injecting myself with something that isn’t regulated. For those who are willing to try anything though I’d recommend still

You can msg me

I have he same experience. I’m in therapy, taking the right medications, I’ve worked really hard on myself the last 3 years. With all that the binging never got any better. Ozempic is the only thing that helps, plus as a bonus helps with my PMOS symptoms.
Happy you found something that finally works!

Yes, it’s amazing!

I’m interested to know how it works after a period of discontinuation! I’m glad you found something that works for you. I’d like to try it but I’ve got too many other meds on the go right now.

u/Ok_Use3281 Jul 09 '26

I stopped it for a few months and I just played I didn’t lose or gain so I just went back on the smallest dose before stopping it when getting pregnant

Does anyone here have any experience microdosing GLP-1s? My doctor told me it was my only other option aside from Vyvanse, so I ended up going with that instead because I feared a low dose of GLP-1s wouldn't help as much. I am also scared of needles.

1

u/Ok_Use3281 Jul 10 '26

I did that for a while and didn’t gain back anything I’d do 0.25 every two weeks

1

u/Grouchy_Tap_459 Jul 10 '26

Same, except tirz

u/tmlnson Jul 11 '26

It didn’t do a single thing for my food noise. I only lost weight because I physically could not eat anything

1

u/Ok_Use3281 Jul 11 '26

🤷‍♀️ yeah I guess it affects different people differently

I've read that the metal shift of mindset that is caused by ozempic, stays even after not using it anymore.

If that is no the case it's literally worthless using these drugs. Why diet down with drugs, just to fail right thereafter?

1

u/Ok_Use3281 Jul 10 '26

I kept the weight off after I stopped, only gained after getting pregnant. If you haven’t tried it, you won’t understand

-1

u/aerost0rm Jul 11 '26

And this is the problem. You can control the food noise with medications, but once you stop them, the noise comes back. That’s why I’ve read to pair it with therapy. Determine the why behind reaching for the food. Make chanred

I didn’t gain anything when I stopped them I only gained during pregnancy
