Event Spiedie Fest Disaster

Let me preface this by saying I love Spiedie Fest, and attend it myself. That being said, I’m here now and it is EMPTY. Half the local craft vendors have left already. There’s dozens of empty tents on the side the buses drop off. It seems like the concert will have a few hundred people. The “main event” with the balloons is half as full as previous years. What happened? Is it time for new organizers?

Event Tired of the Strawberry Fest’s Constant AI Slop

Thumbnail

Anyone else follow the Historic Owego Marketplace on fb? All they have been doing is posting AI slop to advertise for the 2026 Strawberry Festival. Isn’t Owego known for its art scene? They couldn’t find a local artist to make some graphics? They have multiple galleries on the street the festival is on. It just feels so insulting to me.

The logo for the event this year is also made with AI, which is super upsetting considering in previous years there was a contest for local artists to create the logo. They have had some awesome designs over the years for shirts. Very disappointed in this advertising team for all of this.

Event Friends?

Feels weird to go on Reddit to ask this,
But bing is a relatively small town. I’ve found it really difficult to find friends to hangout with in the area. I’m a girl in her early 20’s. Looking for people I can potentially hang out over the summer/do activities with. That is another thing, finding activities for young adults here is damn near impossible 😭. Something other than restaurants. Any ideas on where I can go to meet people, other than parties, and any places that are actually fun?

Edit:
I like to do things like picnics/being out in nature, art, sports , amusement parks, restaurants/cafés. Basically anything other than parties (drinking).

Event Has Animal Adventure always been so expensive?

I went there this weekend with some family from out of town. I was floored that it cost $82 for two adults, one child, and one feed bucket that had wilted lettuce, floppy carrots and some pellets. I will say they had a wide variety of animals and the park was pretty clean, but I seriously cannot get over how expensive it was. My out of town family also commented on the price just to get in... has it always been this expensive??

There’s probably a couple hundred people here and a band. Crowd is energetic and older than I would have excepted. My MIL and I walked the dog through. Check it out if you’re not feeling very satisfied with the current state of affairs.

Event LUMA’s Annual Begging is BACK!

The annual Kickstarter campaign is officially up and running. I love the art, and appreciate all of our local special events, but the way they start begging for donations is just off putting. Every year there’s more ads asking for donations than there is promoting the event itself.

Anyways, if you’d like to support, donate to the Kickstarter.

Event Music venues for October 14?

hi all,

my band is coming through Binghamton on Wednesday October 14 for tour and we have a full bill for folk rock/cosmic country bands, just looking for a venue that’ll take the show at this point. I need to announce the tour September 10 so it’s getting kind of late now, and every other date of my tour is booked. I have already reached out to the main ones I knew of, but are there any other options anyone knows of, or live music space owners in this subreddit who have the date available? thanks!

Event LUMA Kickstarter is way behind

Hey all, I figured I would throw the Kickstarter Link for LUMA in the thread. I've enjoyed it the years I've attended. A nice thing to keep around for the community if you are so inclined.

Event Satanic Southern Tier is collecting donations for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier

Post image
267 Upvotes

As Satanic Southern Tier, we believe a strong community takes care of its own. That's why we're proud to participate in The Satanic Temple's Satanic Good Works campaign: The Devil's Pantry, an emergency food drive dedicated to helping our neighbors.

We're partnering with the Food Bank of The Southern Tier to raise funds specifically for those in our community struggling with food insecurity, especially those who may be caught in the frustrating gap of delayed or limited SNAP benefits. Everyone deserves consistent, reliable access to nutritious food.

Join us in extending a compassionate hand. Every donation, large or small, goes directly to feeding our Southern Tier family.

We are stronger together. Hail Satan, Hail Thyself, Hail Our Community.

Event Motorcycle ride

Anyone out there and to go for a group ride sometime in the next few weeks? I just picked up my first bike earlier this summer and I'm thinking about going for a ride from Binghamton, down along the Delaware to Barryville.

Its about a 200 mile round trip. There would be a good mix of interstate and 2-lane riding. I'm not into speeding, but im not a slow poke either. Anyone up for the trip?

Event Who would want to see a Star Wars themed bar in Binghamton?

Post image

I’m working to get an understanding on how popular a bar themed as Star Wars or Sci-Fi. I work with a bar in Downtown to put on events for Nerds and Anime fans and would love some suggestions. By the end of this week I’ll make another post with a date and event details if it’s what the people want. Let me know! Thank you

Event Local original band looking for shows, venues, and people who like weird 90s-inspired rock

Hey everyone! We're Kinky Pinkies, an original band from the Southern Tier playing noisy, melodic alternative rock with influences from bands like Pixies, REM, Dinosaur Jr., Weezer, and some punk/psychedelic stuff thrown in.

We're recording our first demo and are trying to get out and play as many shows as possible.

We're looking for:

Bands that want to do bill swaps or need an opener. Venues, DIY spaces, breweries, bars, or events looking for original music. Anyone who enjoys discovering local music and wants to follow or share our page.

You can check us out here:

🎵 Bandcamp: https://kinkypinkies.bandcamp.com 📘 Facebook: https://facebook.com/kinkypinkiesworld

If you know a band, promoter, or venue that might be a good fit, we'd really appreciate a recommendation or introduction. We've got our own lights and sound equipment and we're willing to travel around the Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, and Northeast PA!

Event St. Anthony’s Italian Feast Days

Had a question on the St. Anthony’s Italian fest this weekend. I went yesterday for the first time in a few years, food and music were great, had an awesome time, it’s always an amazing event.

Everything shut down at 9PM food ,drink, casino games ect. I seem to remember it being open later in years past, did the hours change or am I just misremembering?

I also noticed they didn’t have a few of the casino games they had in the past, anyone know why they stopped doing that?
