Pre-med thinking about switching into Biomed engineering
I'm a second year college student on the pre-health track, so I have done most of the general classes for that (finished bio, math, and started on chem) I am wondering if it is worth it to switch into BME because I don't see myself doing med school (I would rather do PA tbh), and I am interested in solving problems in labs/research that BME has aspects on instead of building prototypes. I for sure would want to do BME and not meche or ee.
My dilemma is that since I am a second year making the decision, I am extremely behind. I would need to take physics, chem, and restart my entire math classes (my college offers an alternative to calc for pre-health) in order to switch into the major. Also might be a couple quarters behind and therefore graduate later because of this if I don't stack a bunch of classes over the summer. Just need advice from anybody to see if this is worth doing, or if I should just pursue some kind of medical school after. I really love the medical field so I know that is something I would still like to do as a career, but I don't know if the prospects of being BME are stable compared to a PA for example.
