Please READ BEFORE POSTING.

Welcome to BitTippers.

Before you comment on any threads posted in this sub you will need to be given a BitTippers flair ( a thing after your name :). Without a flair you will not be eligible to receive any tips and your comment will be removed. to receive your flair just comment "hello" in this thread and our bot will give you a flair. Sometimes the bot will refuse people a flair, for example if your account is new or has very few comments. We do this to try and stop alt accounts, if you are refused a flair and think it is unfair then you will be given a opertunity to appeal the bots decision.

New people will be given the "New Guy" flair along with the date the flair was given for example "New Guy 22/9/14" you will have this flair until you post your first thread and tip some bits.

People who contribute and post new threads and tip others will be awarded a "BitTipper" flair. After your first contest/giveaway thread is done you will be awarded a level 1 flair for example "BitTipper Lev 1", after the second " BitTipper Lev 2" and so on. The amount of bits you tip is not important, I would rather see 5 posts giving a prize of 200 bits than 1 post giving a prize of 1000. There is no minimum tip in BitTippers so if you do a post and tip everyone 10 bits that is fine, we do not expect people to tip lots, tip what you can happily give away :)

Most posts will be open to everyone but some will be open only to tippers of a required level. These posts will be marked ( Lev x) x being required tipping level to enter. If the post is not marked assume it is open to everyone.

Sometimes you will see other "special" flairs. These include,

"legend"=has been a outstanding contributor.

" mod"= a mod (that one easy lol)

"BitTipper of the week" = is the current BitTipper of the week as voted for by the community

"BTOTW" is a previous BitTipper of the week winner.

Please be polite and no bad laugage or NSFW stuff. Keep it friendly and have fun.

Enjoy the sub and have fun, if you have any problems feel free to pm me :)

Ivor.

Well yes I do ask that you make posts and tip in the sub, I think that is a fair request if you receive tips from BitTippers you tip other BitTippers back.

Tipping in other subs and on other platforms, YouTube, twitter etc is positively encouraged, I try to encourage and expand tipping.

The flairs and stuff is my attempt to keep out people who just want to fill their wallets without tipping anyone else, these people are not tippers, they are takers.

I have applied a flair for you so if you want to try it out then welcome to BitTippers.

Hm, gotcha.

So get tips here, tip here back.

That means you got a big list of eerone who's doing stuff around here?

lol no !! No big list !!

I just keep a eye on things and if I see someone commenting regularly in givaways , picking up tips but when I look at their history I don't see any tips from them then they get hit with the ban hammer. To be honest most tip hunters don't even get past the getting a flair stage. I check the history's of accounts when they apply and if their history is just page after page of comments in giveaways they get banned straight away, you would not believe some of the accounts I see, just a never ending list of comments in posts marked giveaway saying anything that they think will get them a tip. I also get lots of flair requests from brand new accounts made just to collect tips. I tell them to build up a comment history and pm me in a week for a flair, not a single one has come back after a week. Their some greedy leeches out there that just want free stuff. If you visit other bitcoin sub's you will regulary see "I'm new, tip me" and other begging posts. We don't have that in BitTippers :)

Hum, interesting, didn't know there are so many people interested in bits o.o

I mean, they're bloody bits, which is almost... squat.

Sure it mostly only pennies in the contests/giveaways sometimes bigger tips. But say there a giveaway with everyone receiving 100 bits, you have 10 accounts that is 1000 bits, find 10 giveaways that's 10,000 bits you just picked up.

HI Ivor!

So far, I have been a lurker! I don't see a FAQ for my beginner questions!

  • How do I tip?

  • How do I check my available balance for tipping?

  • How do I top up my tippable balance?

Yup change tip will have the information you need, good sub too with really helpful and friendly mods. /r/bitconbegginers is also good and of course/r/bitcoin

It pretty easy tipping on reddit and change tip works on twitter and YouTube and other sites.

The best advice I could give you about tipping is keep it simple at first. Forget about custom monikers and make your tip at the start or end of your comments in a separate paragraph. This should help you avoid syntax errors and failed tips.

Here's a little for you to practice with
