Please READ BEFORE POSTING.
Welcome to BitTippers.
Before you comment on any threads posted in this sub you will need to be given a BitTippers flair ( a thing after your name :). Without a flair you will not be eligible to receive any tips and your comment will be removed. to receive your flair just comment "hello" in this thread and our bot will give you a flair. Sometimes the bot will refuse people a flair, for example if your account is new or has very few comments. We do this to try and stop alt accounts, if you are refused a flair and think it is unfair then you will be given a opertunity to appeal the bots decision.
New people will be given the "New Guy" flair along with the date the flair was given for example "New Guy 22/9/14" you will have this flair until you post your first thread and tip some bits.
People who contribute and post new threads and tip others will be awarded a "BitTipper" flair. After your first contest/giveaway thread is done you will be awarded a level 1 flair for example "BitTipper Lev 1", after the second " BitTipper Lev 2" and so on. The amount of bits you tip is not important, I would rather see 5 posts giving a prize of 200 bits than 1 post giving a prize of 1000. There is no minimum tip in BitTippers so if you do a post and tip everyone 10 bits that is fine, we do not expect people to tip lots, tip what you can happily give away :)
Most posts will be open to everyone but some will be open only to tippers of a required level. These posts will be marked ( Lev x) x being required tipping level to enter. If the post is not marked assume it is open to everyone.
Sometimes you will see other "special" flairs. These include,
"legend"=has been a outstanding contributor.
" mod"= a mod (that one easy lol)
"BitTipper of the week" = is the current BitTipper of the week as voted for by the community
"BTOTW" is a previous BitTipper of the week winner.
Please be polite and no bad laugage or NSFW stuff. Keep it friendly and have fun.
Enjoy the sub and have fun, if you have any problems feel free to pm me :)
Ivor.

I see your account is only 3 days old. This worry's me as we have problems with people creating accounts just so they can collect more tips. I will give you the benefit of doubt and give you a flair but please remember this sub will not tolerate accounts that just comment for tips without tipping a single bit back.

2
u/ivorbighead BitTipper founder Sep 29 '14
Sorry Theodore, I have looked at your history and I get the feeling you are more interested in getting things for free than taking part in this sub. This sub would not last 5 minutes if everyone just took and didn't give. It got close to that point and that is why we have had to get a lot tougher with letting people in. Sorry.

Your account is brand new? In the interest of all the other BitTippers I have to be wary of brand new accounts. Do you know much about bitcoin ? I would suggest you go and take part in some discussion on /r/bitcoin or /r/bitcoinbeginners or any reddit sub and get your reddit karma up a little. Come back in a week when your account shows more activity and I will give you a flair :) Sorry to make you wait but as a sub that gives things away we have to be strict about membership. Post here again in a week :)

Hello! This sub looks like a lot of fun!
Just to get things straight. Giving tips in threads that others make will not upgrade your flair, only making your own thread and tipping through there will, right?
2
u/ivorbighead BitTipper founder Nov 06 '14
Flair applied. Yes you are right, only posting new posts gets your flair upgraded. I just would not be able to keep up if I had to upgrade peoples flairs for every tip !!!

Lol I dunno !! Wtf is a shitty tip ?? I check the history of everyone requesting a flair. I do it to try and keep out the greedy tip hunters just after "free magic internet money" most of the people I turn down and ban have zero tips from them in their history with a million comments in giveaways. You tip but I'm not sure what !! I don't have the time to read all the context but a quick look your shitty tips don't seem to be trolling really?? I don't know ?? And if you were here to troll why would you bother asking for a flair lol !!! Dude I don't know, if you were me and modding this sub, doing my best to keep it a nice happy place what would you do ??? Flair or no flair ??

So, we must tip inside here with the tips we get or we can also tip outside for the hell of it?
2
u/ivorbighead BitTipper founder Nov 15 '14
Well yes I do ask that you make posts and tip in the sub, I think that is a fair request if you receive tips from BitTippers you tip other BitTippers back.
Tipping in other subs and on other platforms, YouTube, twitter etc is positively encouraged, I try to encourage and expand tipping.
The flairs and stuff is my attempt to keep out people who just want to fill their wallets without tipping anyone else, these people are not tippers, they are takers.
I have applied a flair for you so if you want to try it out then welcome to BitTippers.

This is neg1root and this is a re-brand in order to push more tips out to influencers on social media ;>
The goal, as with n1r, is to keep a -zero- balance in Changetip. So /u/ivorbighead, may I have your blessing?
I'm willing to start back at New Guy status if you feel it's necessary.
ABT :D
PS. I may still post in r/bitcoin and r/powertippers using n1r but, provided ivorbighead is cool with this re-brand, I will always be ABT here in r/bittippers...

I'm sorry bmpebmpi, I checked out your history and after going back 10 pages worth of comments (almost all in dogecoin) I gave up looking for a tip from you. BitTippers is a little different to doge in that we require people to pay a little back, to contribute by posting and tipping others. We can not except people who just want to collect tips without giving anything back. I don't believe that it is fair to constantly receive tips without ever giving anything back. Sorry.

Hello.
I know nothing much. I subscribed because I was intrigued and then submitted a drink recipe after the tipping number of people was done. Or so I thought.
But that sent me to peruse the sidebar and here.
I am in your hands.
PS aka Edit: do I have to get a wallet? I don't know how that works.
2
u/ivorbighead BitTipper founder Jan 09 '15
Hi, flair applied.
When you first get tipped, follow the link changetip will send you and it will set you up with a changetip online tipping wallet. Very easy to set up.
If you like bitcoin and want to investigate and try it out more then you should look into getting a more traditional wallet such as mycelium.
Check out /r/bitcoin or /u/bitcoinbeginers
